Just outside the darkness of Everfree Forest, there was small house. From the house walked out to a mailbox, a dark Pegasus, with eyes of different color and odd cutie mark.

From pile of useless mail he took out note and voice of unknown source spoke. "What's that?" "A note...An invite" Odd pegasus answered to voice's question, "At 8, it's few hours from now." "Shall we participate this meeting?" "Yes" Pegasus grinned "I am bored anyway, we can as well check this out."

@@The Cerberus, When the pegisi gest to suger cube cornor he will find out its still a bit busy as theres a jazz ban playing on the stage of the place. a crowd of ponys are watching by the stage or dancing to the tune. some of the patrons were sitting with there dates others were just enjoy the show. One waitress trots by a pretty unicorn

Dark pegasus arrived outside the Sugarcube Corner, few ponies backed away from him as he walked pass them. "I hope this is worth it" He muttered to himself as he walked inside.

"This is unpleasant"(only Grin can hear) "Unpleasant, to you!? I am the one visible here." He walked to a first staff member he could see. "Excuse me, I'm searching for...." "What was it we were looking for again?"(Silent mutter) "the pony with the checkered coat"(only Grin can hear) "The pony with a checkered coat"

@@The Cerberus, The mares smileing greeting went from cherrful ness to...sorrow? dissapointement "ah, well hes over here" she led him to a door then opened it "hes here"

 

a voice was herd "good, Leave us"

 

She nodded beckoning  dark in then close the door behind him leaving him in the dark lit room. In the room was a official looking desk but the speaker was hard to see with the shadows. The outline of the speaker was clearly pony with eyes green eyes pircing through the darkness. The speaker sound female and old not like a grandmother but more like a stern ageing school teacher.

 

"your about to change your life forever in more ways then one, namely being rich to not worry about the economy I just need your help taken care of a neighbor of yours. you may have seen him now and then around the woods with a map or such gear"

 

A folder was placed in front of him with a picture of a painting, the painting was that of a batpony with a grey coat, and a red mane with white stripes in it. His blue eyes matched his cheerful curious expersion as the batpony looked happy he found something

 

"theres 100 bits in the folder, there will be 100 fold if you do what I say, kill him" The speaker said

When the pony had finished her speech Grin picked up the folder and spoke. "Oh? Isn't this interesting." he paused for a while and made head movements like he was talking with someone, but didn't make a sound. Then he continued,  "I shall look into it, to see if it offers any enjoyment." His voice was steady and cold "But out of...curiosity, what would happen if I was to take your money, and never do the task?" His grin widened "Would you do something about it? Like send some desperate mercenary to try their luck." "Not that I would do that, just....curious."

A chuckle could be herd from behind him as two gryphons steped forward, both muscular like a dragon and probably taller then anypony he knew off.The one on his left put his talon on the ponys shoulder with a grip that could rival dragons "you could try to grab and go but if you can get pass my boys here what makes you think something or sompony close to you could have...an accident, like your family perhaps? I cant be seen dirtying my hoofs to get rid of this stain of a pony, partly political partly royal reasons I think your a understanding type no?"

 

The speaker finished awaiting his response, "and cleaning up blood is annoying so doing anything in here could be messy for you"

the speaker nodded to one of the griphons who handed the pony another picture, he would recognize the tied up pony as his parents

Anger raised in Grin's mind but he didn't show it in any way. "No need for extra proof." he paused for a second as he spoke with calm voice "Is that all, or do you still want keep trying to scare me?" "And could you kindly order your assistant to let go my shoulder" "I really don't feel up to blasting him to atoms right now" There was slight red flash in his right eye.

"consider them your incentive to do it right the first time we'll speak again when your job is done and as much as you want to blast me and my boys right now. Next time will be a happier meeting"

 

"you have until the end of the month to kill him, cut his ear off then come here and we both leave better in our lives" She nodded towards the gryphons who ushered the pony out with less then welcoming grace. As he would be out of the room he would see the place deserted and the mare wipping the counter for closeing.

Grin exited the building without looking around, he dashed off to the air.

Unknown voice spoke again. "It's been a while since something interesting happened, this will be fun" "Fun? this is a mess." "Mess? You just deal with that random bat and it's over." "You know as well as I that these kid of things are not that simple" "Well, you did sound like it was simple". "I had to, the moment I read that note, there was no backing up."

 

Pegasus flew to his house and entered, soon coming back out with a necklace of two different sized crystals on his neck. He then took off again, heading towards the forest. "Let's see who this bat is..." "Taking care of him already? you have two weeks." "No, I just want to know who is the one with life worth of 200 bits and three innocent ponies"

As he would fly over the forest it could take anywhere from a short to a long time to find the batpony painted on the picture, yet the problem with looking for one specific pony in the woods it could be a challenge do to who or what is being looked after. He would probably pass a water fall never seen before in the forest, it could be where the bat be or maybe nothing their.

 

Yet farther away from the water fall would be a tall tree, similar to the rest but not in a way. The tree was about 3 story's high, and it was in a clearing with a shed nearby, a training dummy, and a small headstone. The tree was modified for living as evident from the windows in the treehouse along with what looked like a patio focused on one branch of the tree made with great care.

 

Could this be the place or just some abandoned tree house?

"Timber wolf, timber wolf, manticore and another wolf" "I don't think I can find anything as small as a pony from up here at the moment" Grin sighed "Figured, forest is full of life at this time of the day, but at least you tried" pegasus lowered his flight altitude closer to the forest-roof. He passed waterfall without minding it and continued until he reached a tree that seemed like it either was or had been lived. "Do you sense anything Mask?"(still not visible)

Pending on how sharp of a sight your mask has (rolling dice....19 wow so a lot hope that's not breaking your OC) The mask would see by the water fall it would see what looked like training dummys by the water fall and behind the fall what would aper to be a chest. Locked obviously with a odd mark not with a bolt lock more like a seal.

 

As the would fly over the tree house signs of life in the tree house as the said batpony would look like he was looking over a parchment with odd map like squiggels here and their as he drew off what looked like a sea of note paper around him humming a tune.Then dropping the quill in his mouth annoyed seeming to notice an erroe with his notes, or probably the map itself?

As the would fly over the tree house signs of life in the tree house

 

"There is a creature inside, I  don't recognize it, but it's not an wild animal," Grin rose his hoof from the ground and with a red flash, mostly white mask appeared over his hoof. "You know what to do." Grin said as he walked to the forest so he was out of sight while the mask raised and started flying around the tree house passing every window. The Mask started speaking with loud and echoing voice. "You, creature inside the tree house, if you are a Batpony who has grey coat, red striped mane and blue eyes, it would be for your best interest to come out to talk."

The speaking starteld the batpony making him fall off his chair with a cluter of papers following a curse. Seeing the mask fly around the house the creature seemed to scowl at the flying mask half anoyence half confusion. the blinds to the windows shut then silently but quickly a fog seemed to have surround the treehouse. Making it hard or the mask to see around the house and even inside it, Grin would no doubt notice this as well as it seemed to surround him.

A booming voice came from the tree

 

"IDENTIFY YOURSELF" the voice echoed in response

Mask flew back to Grin. "I'm positive it's who we are looking for" Grin nodded and with the mask floating next to him he went to house's door and answered speaking in unison with the mask. "Your fog or you don't scare us, it matters not who we are" Grin with a flash of red from his eyes destroyed the door in front of him with loud bang. "It's why we are here that matters, For now, we are here to talk, but we don't have time for games"

As the door shattered he would see for a split second a giant hammer as if connected to the ceiling rushed towards his face hitting him hard enough to send him outside of the door frame. A click was herd possibly inside the tree as vines would wrap around grin, the floor would give way sending them both down a shaft a bit of distance then as they would land on a table after the said fall the batpony from the picture approached him.

 

In his hoof a odd gauntlet warped around the hoof, if the mask had a passed life before he met his pony he might recognize the gauntlet.

 

The pony rested the gauntlet on the table and a red almost angry like blade would seem to extend from it nearing the pony's neck

 

"you have my attention, start talking" the pony said

 

If grim would struggle he would feel the vines tighten like iron around him painfully.

The bat pony blinked impressed at the surge of magic coming from the mask and the pony

 

"surly you could have knocked" the pony said obviously annoyed sounding he then sighed.

 

"who ever or what ever sent you wont spare you even if you kill me, they wont care. The 200 is just a tease of a bigger pot that never will come. hence why the kidnaped three innocent pony's....your family right? and pony's say us vamps are monsters" he sheathed the blade

 

"how long did they give you to kill me?" the bat pony said

"Knocking is not one of our habits" Mask joked before Grin continued more seriously. "We know they can't be trusted, if we though so, we wouldn't be talking, besides my life or money isn't something I worry about" Grin sighed "Yes, they have my parents and third was waiter who led me to the pony who wants you down." "She didn't mention anything about the reason why you should be eliminated" "Just that I have time until end of the month" "So, could you answer my question? Why are you so important?"

The batpony sighed "you try to kill me it wont go well" he warned before cutting grin free from the bindings "this way" he said leading the pony upstairs away from the chamber. As they made their way up stairs the pony pulled a lever that was by the door closing the door behind him. Grin and the mask would find themselves in the living room of what looked like a comfy cabin with levers hear and their it wouldn't take long to realize these levers were more then just décor.  

 

The batpony went to the kitchen attached to the comfy living room, "sit down you look like you could use it, cider, beer, or do you prefer juice?" he said pulling out a glass bottle full of blood opening it up then drinking it. He wiped his muzzle of the blood "and what do you know of vamponys?" he asked looking at gin.

Grin shrugged to bat's warning and mask made a sound that was equivalent to living creature rolling it's eyes as they followed batpony up.

 

Grin sat down after checking the room for any dangers."Cider"

"I only know that they drink blood, like you right now. But...." Grin paused and Mask continued as it was floating around the room scanning it. "...I have met your type few times with my past masters before, but they weren't as....hospitable as you." "Didn't really get to know any of them because..well" "I could say we killed them but that would be...understatement" "No worries though, it was long time ago, you probably didn't know any of them."

Cresent paused at this, "depends on who you killed, ever been to the silver moutin woods?" he asks pulling out the cider

 

"As for my generosity well, most pony think hars of us vamps when in fact we are the lesser of this worlds monsters" he said bringing the cider to the table.

 

"im good with maps, who ever kidnaped your loved ones any pictures they gave you or something?" he asked after the swing of the blood bottle.
