gaming Prince of Persia worst and best game?

For me it has to be Sands of Time to be the worst. I mean yeah i admit i did like it as a 13 year old kid (Pirated it though but bought it later on Steam, same with Warrior WIthin and Two Thrones but got it on Steam now so i am becoming legal ^^) But basically the reason is that it feels like it holds your hand too much and you look too dashing for my taste.

In Warrior Within its like OOOOOOOOOOH RRRRRRRRRWWWWWRR. Like just insane, and i like that. Picking up weapon and moving on. That works for me. Although i didn't get far in Two Thrones i did like the stealth kill and transformation in some way.

So far i think Warrior Within is my favorite to relax with at times. What about you?

Never played Prince of Persia as I didn't have the time to played it.

Did you try the DOS or SNES version? I remember them way before i tried the more known 3D version called Sands of Time, which by that time was considered good graphics when it first came out.

Despite having the Sands of Time Trilogy AND the recent reboot, I've only played the first two games. Namely because Warrior Within was so terribly it made me rage quit within the first half hour. So yeah, Warrior Within is the worst and Sands of Time is the best given that I at least completed that one.

But Warrior Within is not about inner monologues, Sands of Time is just press this button and fight dozens of monsters. I just need something to spice it up and i just felt like i was in the same place doing the same stuff and thats what killed me with Sands of Time. In Warrior Within it more or less gives me the addition of picking and using weapons, going further to a mission to do something and feels like you are doing something without hearing whatever thoughts the Prince has to say like a dashing Prince would say.

I mean i did honestly like this game long time ago but playing it again i realise how bad it is now. But Warrior Within, oooooooh yeah!!!.

To be fair i did hate the two later games when i tried it on PS2 long time ago, but now i tried it again and its great because i feel like i am playing that person without having him telling me what to think

As it stands I rank the Prince of Persia games as among my most favored and treasured out there. Out of them I have played seven of them; with only the original and "The Shadow and the Flame" being the only ones that have eluded me. That said; from top to bottom:

1. Sands of Time - This game is just a pure masterpiece for me. It really feels like the forefather of other games like Shadow of the Colossus and Uncharted/Tomb Raider; which explains the fun factor. Plus the game just feels magical; with a feeling that isn't too heavy, nor too light. Add in that the Prince and Farah are great characters in their own right; "Sands" is just a pure treat.

2. Prince of Persia '08 - Oh my god; what an underrated classic this one is. Granted the gameplay might seem a but too zen in the eyes of some, but I just loved how the platforming flowed. I loved the story, and the Prince's partnership with Elika really made the game fun. And the setting...just....so beautiful.

3. The Two Thrones - I would also contend that this one is underrated. It's the "best of both worlds" between the feeling and character of "Sands of Time" with the gameplay improvements of "Warrior Within." The story also feels much bigger than usual, and the visuals are just stunning. Yuri's voice is just bae. <3 Also; evil Prince is awesome.

4. The Forgotten Sands (PS3) - Fun; if a bit unmemorable. It captures the feeling of the Sands of Time games; yet it seems to be missing that spark that made them special. Still; the Prince is enjoyable as is the story.

5. The Forgotten Sands (Wii) - Yes; the Wii game in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT game from it's PS3/360 counterpart; different setting, story, characters, etc. That said I haven't played much of it, but I can say that the feeling and gameplay actually reminds me of the '08 Prince rather than Sands. From what I remember it was definitely fun; though I really need to get back into it.

6. Warrior Within - I almost hate rating the game this low as the gameplay was a definite improvement from "Sands of Time," but the overall feeling felt off, and the Prince was downright unlikeable at times. I dunno; I just preferred the overall package that Sands provided, but that doesn't mean Warrior is a bad game. On the contrary; it's fun as heck. Just the overall package feels lacking.

7. Prince of Persia 3D/Arabian Nights - This game comes before any of the above and is actually a sequel for the original side-scroller games. As such it's a completely different feeling game from the others, but that's not entirely bad. However, the controls are a bit awkward (think original Tomb Raider), but IIRC it had some things going for it.

Actually i dont like any of them. Assassin's Creed while i am not hugely fan did more justice. I think i dislike most early 2000 games on PC except Warcraft... no i dont even like Warcraft 3 that much. Warcraft 2 was better in my view. Although WoW i think was an improvement but never bothered getting into the game.
