Welcome to the first annual MLP forums pro wrestling awards, held in conjunction with the 5th annual wrestling roundtable awards on FB (https://www.facebook.com/groups/WRFanAwards/) where we acknowledge and recognize the good (and the bad) of the year 2016 in wrestling. 

 

The categories are as follows:

 

 

 

BAD AWARDS

1. DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE YEAR – Wrestler, or Angle, or Push that came short of expectations.

2. X-PAC HEAT AWARD – Dislike of a wrestler (not to be confused with heel heat, but a wrestler you want to go away)

3. MILKED DRY AWARD – Most over-done Angle or Feud

4. ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS AWARD – Worst wrestler of the year

5. BACKSTAGE HAZARD AWARD – Non wrestling personnel award for worst individual involved in the sport

6. SHUT THE HELL UP AWARD – Worst Mic Skills

7. WHO BOOKED THIS SHIT? - Worst Wrestling Show

8. Shut Up And Call The Damn Match - Worst Commentary Team

9. Around The Ankles Award - Worst Belt Design

10. Paper Champion - Worst Title Reign

11. Skipping The Intro - Worst Entrance Theme

 

GOOD AWARDS

1. TURNAROUND/SURPRISE OF THE YEAR - When a wrestler or angle was given low expectations, suddenly become completely opposite.

2. THAT WAS AWESOME AWARD – Best Spot, Wrestling Move or moment

3. MOUTH OF THE SOUTH AWARD – Best mic skills

4. SLOBBER KNOCKER OF THE YEAR – Best Brawler

5. ACE OF THE YEAR – Best High Flyer

6. MAT MASTER OF THE YEAR – Best Technical Wrestler

7. Mat Maiden Award- Best Female wrestler

8. To The Moon Award- Best Overall Push

9. Brothers In Arms- Best Tag Team

10. BREAK OUT STAR OF THE YEAR – 

11. REIGN SUPREME AWARD – Best championship reign

12. MONEY WELL SPENT – Best Wrestling Show

13. MATCH OF THE YEAR

14. WRESTLER OF THE YEAR

15. FEUD OF THE YEAR

16. Call It Like You See It- Best Commentary Team

17. Ringtone Award- Best Entrance Theme

18. Shine It Up- Best Championship Belt Design

Worst title reign is definitely the New Day, FOR ONE REASON: The fact that WWE had them break the record and then lose the title like a week later. It seemed incredibly petty of the company to do that just to end Demolition's record because of the whole 'lawsuit' thing that they are involved in. It bothers me. You want to break the record, that's fine, but they shouldn't have made all of this so obvious.
