How do you think Shining Armor trains his men?

Shining Armor takes his job seriously, but is very laidback and casual offduty, coming off as sensetive and even somewhat childish. (comic books, O&O, ant farms, train sets and Brutus Force, anyone?)  How do you think he trains his men?

I'm sure he trains them with a stern outlook so as to ensure that they are capable of defending the Crystal Empire at a moments notice, but it seems there are some issues that have caused Shining Armour to suffer from headaches. Some of the guards behave like children, arguing over petty things that embarrass him and force Cadance to have to deal with it, such as what happened in Friends Forever #30 for example.

How the hell do people see S.A. as childish? That makes no sense.

He probably trains his men in a similarly fashion to how Optimus Prime treats the Autobots.

Remember, Bob Ross was a master sergeant in the US Air Force. You can be laid back off duty and still be super serious about your job.
