What if: Spike stayed Dragon Lord.

What if in Gauntlet of Fire, Spike decided to stay Dragon Lord, so he could teach the dragons about friendship?

Would he have made a good Dragon Lord, since he's nice and helpful? Or would he be too young and have too little experience with dragons to be an effective ruler?

Ember makes a better Dragon Lord to me. And I don't think the writers are gonna put up another Dragons episode. Besides, the show doesn't really focus on dragons, it focuses on ponies.

I think he would have needed to consult Twilight on various things in order to successfully teach the "Magic of Friendship". Idk if that would go down so well with the dragon populace, so it's likely he would have to keep these consultations secret.

I think he could have made a decent Dragon Lord, and could have been an interesting departure for the series, although, it sounds like the type of thing that would get run into the ground pretty easily. For a season or two it would be a nice change of pace ^-^

Nah. He's been raised his whole life by ponies. He knows next to nothing about dragon culture. It's much better that Ember is Dragon Lord, since she's spent her entire life around dragons (including the previous Dragon Lord).

Nah! Spike being Dragon Lord would be too easy of a destiny checker for him! No, he needs a destiny that's best suited for him, and unexpecting to us! He's really smart, and knows how to persuade and give great advice! Let's hope we can officially see what his purpose in life is sometime in the future!

I actually think that given enough time, he could have made a decent dragon lord.

Plus this actually could have been a nice way to either write him off of the show, or turn him into a recurring character.
