A bat's shadow RP (1x1 Rp w/ Maple Bat)

Shadow nodded and said as he flew into the air, "How about a race, and I'll give you a minute headstart." There was another reason for taking a walk but he didn't want to spoil the time with it. "From the village that's 4-5 miles away, around the tower at the church, then back home, and no portals."

"I don't need an advantage." She said using her magic to enhance her speed without him noticing. "So we'll walk to the town and then fly back?" She asked to be sure of what they where doing. She almost took off but realized that he wanted to get to the town first.

Shadow shrugged his shoulders and said right before taking off like a bullet, "Actually, we're flying, should take us 10-15 minutes in total, and suit yourself." He took off and smiled it felt great just to stretch out his wings and not for something terrible. He had to have his eyes closed with the wind blowing in his face, but he didn't care

Maple was going only slightly faster than he was because of the enchantment she used on herself, she tapped him on the shoulder after catching up with him waving as she passed by. Wow I've never gone this fast before It feels great. She thought to herself.

Shadow felt a tap on his shoulder, he was surprised, but it was overcome with excitement. He beat his wings harder and started to pass Maple. He saw the town on the horizon and heard the bell chime. He tucked his wings in but kept them out enough that he can fly without the wind catching them. It alway happens at a certain time of day near the town.

Maple Laughed to herself as Shadow started to pass him She boosted the enchantment on her wings and started to pull ahead again. They where almost to the town she pushed her limits in order to pass him at the last second. Sharply turning around the tower in order to not lose momentum and she speed off towards shadows house.

Shadow pushed himself to catch up to Maple, he raked his claw in the stone to do a sharp turn and sped up to her. He caught up to her, but wasn't  able to get ahead of her, only be neck and neck with her.

Maple wasn't used to going as fast but she was loving every second of it. As the two of them approached Shadow's house Maple forgot to get into a position where she wouldn't crash into the ground so when they both landed Maple didn't stop going and crashed into the side of his house landing head down. "Ohh that hurt." she said getting up. "Forgot to land there."

Shadow opened his wings to their full extent, slowing him down, and landed at the door. He said as he unlocked it, "Yeah, that happened before, but it was my claws got stuck." He sighed and added, "I might be able to help you forget about crashing, if it works."

"No if I forget it then I won't learn from it that and it'd still hurt." She said stumbling a bit "Sorry about the wall though." she added looking at the wall. She wonder what he meant by that but disregarded the thought of something malicious.

Shadow said as he waved it off, "It's okay, I still have to fix the window I broke. He walked inside to see the book, that was on his bed, sitting on the table. He said as he headed up the stairs, "you can rest and get yourself a drink, I have to check up on something." He walked into his room to see a pony that he sees around the village, He closed the bedroom door, locked it and said, "This had better be a good explanation why you came here."

The pony nodded and said, "I got your letter and the others think it was tampered with."

Maple made a drink for herself by mixing some apple cider with a touch of wine. To her it didn't taste bad not good either. She shrugged and continued to drink it. She walked into the room she was staying in. She looked at her little mixture and used her magic to attempt to make it better she spawned a tiny cotton candy cloud added a few drops of freshly rained chocolate milk to make it a bit more sweet. To her surprise it worked. It tasted better. Shadow Probably wouldn't like this it's got a weird flavor to it. She thought.

Shadow sighed and said, "Well, what am I supposed to say, that somepony messed it up and She'll be excellent? She admitted that she doesn't care at all. Why don't you go back and tell them that it's real? Also, don't just drop in, the last thing I need is some weird signal to come from me. 

The pony crossed its hooves and said, "Don't you remember 5 years ago." 

Shadow sighed and said as he punched the foot of his bed, "You save me one time and now you think you own me and I have to listen to you." Now would you get out." When the pony lounged on the bed, Shadow picked it up and tossed it to the floor

Maple heard another voice. In shadows room. It sounded tense. She went up stairs to his room. "Hey Shadow I tried a different mixture of brews I wanted your opinion of it..." She saw the other pony and tried to play it cool "Oh hey there, sorry guess I didn't hear you enter."

Shadow smiled and said as he grabbed the pony by the neck, "It's fine, he just dropped by and now he's leaving." He opened a portal and tossed him in. He turned to Maple and said, "That one is best to forget about. You mentioned some brews?"

He was hiding something but Maple dropped it. "It's probably an acquired taste but hey I really like it I'm not gonna mention what's in it until you try it." She handed it to him "It's sweet though which might throw you off."

Shadow shrugged and took a sip. He could taste the wine and natural sweetness of apples, and there was another distinct flavor that was blended into it almost hiding. he placed it down and said, "I'm guessing you added chocolate milk and apple juice to wine, am I correct?"

"The chocolate milk was from a cloud that I think is still in the other room." She laughed "And it's cider not Juice guess that doesn't make a difference though. Anyways what did you think of it?" She took another drink of her personal blend of drinks enjoying it more and more with each drink.

Shadow said as he sat down on the bed, "It's okay, a bit too sweet for my liking. I prefer the basic hard stuff." He got up and said, "Come on, I'll make some dinner." He headed down the stairs and cleaned off the table

"Alright." She noted his preferred taste heading down with him. "Making me food huh." She laughed a bit "Sorry excuse me there. It's just when we met you really wanted to keep your distance but now it seems I've grown on ya. Then again I did kinda force my way into your life." She said that last bit with a disappointing tone. She created another cotton candy cloud and started to mess with it.

Shadow said as he got the stuff out, "I'm guessing you don't want meat in your dinner. He shredded the meat and placed it to the side, then he got started on the rest. He reached into the cupboard and said jokingly as he accidentally grabbed the seasoning that helps you relax, "Don't get cotton candy all over" He sprinkled it in and mixed it up. He placed the lid on and picked up the book. He placed it on top of the fridge, then shut off the heat. After it was done. He dished it up and threw some of the shredded meat into his bowl.

"Ya know what..." Maple began "Might as well try meat. What's the worst that could happen. I mean if you'll make any more of it. That animal's already dead anyways so lets not let it go to waste." She was pretty sure she wouldn't like it but was willing to give it a fair enough chance.

He placed his bowl down on the table, grabbed the rest of the shredded meat, and placed it into her bowl, then he said as he placed it in front of her, "Just don't tell your mom, I think she would faint at that since she takes care of animals." He walked over to the fridge, pulled the wine bottle he placed it there earlier that day and poured him a drink, then he sat down and started eating.

Maple looked at it nervously "I won't tell her she'd knock some since into me." She bit into the meat it tasted different than anything she'd had before but she wasn't hating it. It's a different taste but a good kind of different. "I'm not sure what I think" She said after eating a few pieces "I'd eat it again but it's not preferable."

Shadow nodded then when back to eating. He tasted something off about it, but he couldn't put his claw on it. He did what he always did with it, so why does it taste different to him. He cast the thought aside, thinking it was just the day he had or the wine
