Where are the writers planning to take the CMC's abilities?

Does anyone remember "Twilight Time", where the CMC were working on their unique talents? Applebloom, with her potion-making, Scootaloo, with her penchant for construction and scootering, and Sweetie Belle with her magic? While the latter's magic has become a little stronger since then, where exactly is she headed with it? Same for Scootaloo and Apple Bloom. Are they going to further develop these unique talents, in spite of their cutie mark symbols not really showcasing them in any way? Will they work to put these skills that they've acquired to practical use, instead of centrally focusing on reconnecting ponies with their cutie mark problems, which isn't in high demand, as seen in "On your Marks"?

Man they should've been DISBANDED or give up on their Cutie Marks in the first place....That was a biggest mistake that the CMC ever done.

All they're getting right now since the beginning of Season 6 (first full season where they have their cutie marks) are adventures with Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash, or just themselves.

For Season 8, I certainly do not want any of those.

What would be nice is an episode where Pinkie Pie tells the CMCs the story of how she started throwing cute ceañeras, or interactions with Maud Pie. Either way works for a Pinkie/CMC episode.

I don't know, maybe the writers just decided to scrap that idea, this wouldn't be the first time we got dropped plots in the show. coughcastleofthetwosisterscough.

Well they kinda got some talents but the writers chose to kinda ignore it and only put little hints on the cutiemarks to tell them apart.

Im still waiting for Sweetie Belle to actually do some epic singing on stage. Music is her passion afterall.... at least that's what we kept thinking.

Cutie marks don't always make sense at first, I guess.

Twilight's doesn't make a great deal of sense until you see the tree of harmony; Cadence's makes sense once you know about the crystal empire/heart, and so forth.

CMCs have three near identical shields, with modifiers; clearly they are destined to be a team - although a shield would more imply defenders rather than the helper role they seem to believe they have - and each has TWO modifiers.

Apple Bloom has an apple encasing a heart shape.

Scootaloo has a wing featuring lightning

Sweetie Belle has a star (and not the six pointed star for magic) around a musical note. 

I don't think those are little hints - I think they have a deeper meaning, but their context is being saved for a future story line.
