Mehndi Heart stared up at the sky at the growing grey clouds; her eyes filled with their reflection. She knew what was coming but didn't really bother saying what it was to anypony. She stopped trying over a year ago. Being new to Ponyville she was very conscious about who approached her. She only met one resident face-to-face and it was the strangest pink pony she's ever met. After that, no pony else payed any mind to her. Thats a good thing she usually told herself. Isolation is the one of the things she knows best. 

She took in a deep breath. Smelling the cold, sweet sent of the future downpour. Ponies around her started walking into their homes and shops preparing for it all. All except her...

Thunder could be heard from the distance as the clouds crept even closer to the tiny town. "Tonight, it will rain.." She said to herself.

(Its almost nightmare night in Ponyville! The trees are changing colors, the pumpkins are being carved, and the rain... the rain will come in full force. Things are starting to seem unfamiliar this year, especially with the appearance of a new mare in town. You see her staring up at the greying sky. No one seems to notice her except a few other ponies who walk by. Who is she? Why are dark clouds gathering before the night of celebration? Maybe you're just feeling under the weather. Still, you cant help but be curious...)

Thunder could be heard from the distance as the clouds crept even closer to the tiny town. "Tonight, it will rain.." She said to herself. 

 

 

Techno was still walking around town feeling a bit strange and his massive cape was flowing behind him with the strong winds. He then encountered Mehndi and walked up to her...

 

TU: Okay what are you doing out here when a storm is about to hit! Or do you just feel something strange like me?

Mehndi Heart jumped like a scared cat as @Techno Universal spoke to her. She didn't even notice him walk up to her. Her ears folded back with her face curling up into a confused look. She wanted to run. She didn't want to be distracted. Yet, her body didn't move. She noticed Techno's tall height and large cape. She couldn't stop imagining what kind of pony she just met. 

"I... uh..." was all she could muster up. What was she supposed to say to an alicorn? The truth? No. She shouldn't do that. Who would believe her anyway? 

She still felt like running...

Mehndi glanced at the oncoming clouds. They were almost over their heads. She and Techno could hear the rumbling of the thunder closing in. It was making her nervous. The conflicting emotions was starting to show on her face. Techno could obviously read her like a book.

She was hiding something...

Techno then scratched his head for a moment for a massive five meter long cape to appear on Mehndi. The cape was extremely soft and it was fluttering in the wind behind her and it's appearance was based off her colour scheme...

 

TU: Okay to be honest our capes should keep us dry as they can't get wet! Anyways I can tell that you're still hiding something there.

The bright red cape with gold swirly hearts appeared on Mehndi's back as quick as a flash. The sudden warmth and softness on her body made her make a small surprised squeak. She started to run from the clouds and Techno as fast as a rabbit being chased out of its hole. The strange alicorn knew of her secretive stature. She MUST run away and avoid anymore attention before anything else happens.

Techno felt a drop of water hit his nose. Then two more, then five. Suddenly, full blown rain fell upon all of Ponyville. It was as thick as the storms from the Evarfree forest if not thicker. Ponies from inside their homes looked out their windows in awe. Rain like this only happens every once in a while even in autumn. None however expected the worst. Oh how unbeknownst they all were. 

Mehndi kept running. Her distance between her and Techno growing quickly. She ducked behind a shop for safety but to no avail, the rain caught her. "No..." She whispered to herself.

Mehndi's cape wasn't getting wet in the rain and it was keeping her dry and it was the same with Techno's cape. Techno then flew over to Mehndi to then go behind the shop with her...

 

TU: To be honest maybe it might be best you stay with me as I'm sensing that there's a very threatening being nearby and I believe that being might be causing the storm!

Mehndi watched Techno descend from the sky. Her head darted around, looking for a way to run. There was no way to get past him without getting caught by his cape. She was trapped. Her stopped darting and looked back at Techno in front of her. 

The rain pattered loudly on the ground. Strangely enough, Mehndi could still hear the alicorn's voice as he spoke to her. What he said made her look at her cape. He was right. It's not getting wet and neither was she. In fact, the cape felt wonderful. It felt like she was wrapped up in an expensive blanket. Her right front hoof touched the cape. Still felt good. 

"W-why are you following me? Why did you give me this cape???" She blurted out. She realized she sounded a bit rude. She then said in a calmer voice "Thank you... for the cape that is." She still felt uneasy though. She didn't like being followed.

TU: Well really to be honest our capes have magical properties and that's why they can't get dirty or wet! Plus the cape would give you a sense of safety plus maybe it would be better if I was with you. It's just I'll be able to protect you from whatever is out there.

 

Techno then looked out into the storm with his wing now over Mehndi...

"Protect me? what do you mean?" Mehndi asked genuinely curious. She hasn't had anypony say such things to her in many years. Lots more questions flooded into her mind like a broken dam. Why was this strange alicorn trying to help her? How did this cape he gave her get such wonderful magical properties? How is she supposed to escape without seeming like a bratty foal? What should she say next???

A crash of thunder and lightning flashed through the rainy sky. It lit up the entire town in a few seconds then dimmed back to a dark grey atmosphere. Mehndi Heart jumped up and yelled in surprise; covering her head with her hooves as she hit the ground. She was afraid all over again. Despite not getting wet, she still felt like the rain was hitting her with all its might. She lifted a hoof off her head to catch a glace back at Techno. He was still there, seemingly unaffected by the elements of the storm.

TU: Well to be honest this is no ordinary storm but by what I'm sensing it's been caused by drak magic. The dark magic is apparently ambient dark magic that's been naturally radiated off a being of great power and evil and that being is not far from us. Plus to be honest that being might even be as powerful as me.

Mehndi Heart stood up on all fours. She had no idea what he was inferring to. Evil? Dark magic??? She hadn't really thought about the causes of the storms before. Just that they follow her everywhere and never stops pouring until she runs far enough away. This has been happening to her for over a year now. Mehndi shook her head in confusion. If this really was some sort of dark magic, there is a way to defeat it right? She has heard stories of powerful magics battling against each other for many things such as power, revenge, peace and freedom. Could magic be the one thing she needed all along? 

"Um... what's your name?" she asked politely. She looked up at Techno like a curious foal. Perhaps.... he could help her? She should at least learn his name before disappearing again. That's just the kind of pony she is. She doesn't like to forget ponies who make an impact on her, be it negative or positive. She wasn't sure which one it was this time.

TU: Well really my name is Techno Universal! Anyways did you just say the storms have always been following you around for a year now? To be honest that must be a real bad sign as that being of dark magic must be following you around then. Like it's probably targeting you for some reason and I'll be here to defend you from it if it shows up here!

 

The capes of the two were fluttering around violently behind them in the strong winds of the storm...

Mehndi slightly titled her head. She never heard a name like that before. She wasn't so sure if she should reveal her own name to him. His eagerness to defend her from whatever he suggests is following her still concerned her. The rain kept on falling as she thought about these things. The cape flapping in the wind indicated that they both should find better shelter soon. But where would they go? Where should SHE go? Would the Alicorn still follow? Most likely. She had a feeling running away again wouldn't have any use anymore. The storm already caught her and Techno already found her. "I might as well..." she thought. "My name is Mehndi Heart. Nice to meet you." she said. 

Her head looked around; looking for any shelter she could possibly find. She suddenly noticed an alleyway near the shops across from both  her and Techno. There was a few wooden crates and a tarp covering them like a blanket. Her face lit up as she got an idea. She could easily make a tent out of the tarp using the boxes as walls to protect her from the harsh winds.

Techno could sense the being of dark magic was now very close by...

 

TU: Yeah I think it's best we hide at that being of dark magic is probably just around the corner from here according to my senses and it's closing in on us. Though it can probably sense your magic Mehndi so hiding wouldn't really do any good with getting away from it. Though to be honest our capes are so big to the point where we could completely cover our bodies with them!

Mehndi started to run across the street towards the tarps and crates. Thunder rumbled across the sky making the ground seem to shake from its power. The ground started to soak into a thick muddy sludge as Mehndi ran as fast as she could. She reached the crates in a few seconds; relieved that she didn't get struck by lighting. Mehndi went to work straight away. She pulled the tarps off the crates. They were heavy, which helped them not blow away in the wind. She struggled with pushing and stacking the crates in a house-like structure. It took about 5 minutes for her to finish creating what looked like a foal's fort. 

Mehndi crawled under the tarp like a cat under bed sheets. "finally... not as bad as it used to be." she thought in her mind. This wasn't the first time she has to improvise a sleeping spot. Being homeless, she used what ever she can find for nights like this one.
