Even without, mine lief. Dependeth on motivation, in the earnest.

That varies too, my princess, although I suspect largely for plot convenience. There is a lot to suggest her wingpower may be inhibited by her confidence problems, but would be otherwise that of a normal pegasus pony - even back when she very first met Twilight, she was able to bowl her out of the way simply by rushing to see a baby dragon, and later in the same season (even before her wingpower training regime) she was able to extend her wingpower onto a fully laiden cart of frogs (plus saddlebags and a basket) without visible effort.  I don't feel facing her with the human-world clouds (which, like the Crystal Empire clouds, are much wilder than equestrian ones) would be a good idea.

I still have much more confidence in her abilities. The key point she must have it likewise to... "unlock" those abilities.

We will see. It is repeatedly demonstrated that Flutters' inner strength and power is equal to the rest of the (massively OP) mane 6; this is mitigated by her shy personality and Element.  As we can see with the Iron Will incident and to a lesser extent the more recent Manehatten one, an assertive, overconfident Flutters is NOT the lovable pone we enjoy the company of... And I don't know what the effect of her being in conflict with her Element would be, but it can't possibly end well.

Who said, her powers must be conflicting with her Element? SHOW ME THAT FLAT-MINDED PONY! :orly:

:D

I didn't - I said the personality shifts that come with an overconfident Flutters conflict with her Element - "New Fluttershy" and her "Manehatten shop pony" personas were anything but kind, and the final confrontation from that episode, where she isn't playing a role... hmm.

The other cases, whither she was showing her true powers, helping her friends in need or/and danger were arrant within her Element, lief. That is a simple lesson, not even a letter to mine dearest sister necessary - one shan't play an unfitting role to succeed.

I do feel sorry for Fluttershy. She has so many flaws and each of them mainly affect her, as opposed to others (like Pinkie's and Rainbow's flaws). She's also rarely appreciated for her kind acts and what it takes for her to overcome fears that other ponies think nothing of.

Indeed so. I do feel in many cases the Element each pone embodies becomes a power multiplier when the pone is acting within her alignment - just as Dashie was able to unlock her rainboom when she acted to save Rarity, Fluttershy is able to assert astounding strength when acting in support or defense of her friends - not only her Stare, but when she more than doubled her Wingpower to assist Dashie in the water transfer.  To use the phrase from EqG - when she is "showing the truest part of herself".

@Rising Dusk Ah, but with what? You wouldn't want to wash it down with wine, and then get an upset stomach! :umad:

But surely a sufficiently tart wine would compliment the sweetness of the Flutterpoints? :)

Ah well, there I will defer to your expertise my dear - while I have strong opinions on tea and whiskey (and coffee, obviously) I really have no skill in the selection of wines :)

Don't worry, neither do I; all I know is that some wine is much better than others! :ooh:

I would say Flutterpoints would go well with a rich dark coffee. Too sweet for wine. ;)

Perhaps an espresso shot, drawn from a coffee with deep chocolate notes, such as the Columbian?

@Flutterstep How much do they cost, though? ^_^

@CoffeeHoof I appreciate that you didn't type "expresso." Nobody drinks trains. :scoots:
