What would you change in the 8th MLP season?

I'd keep the school, but I would not make the Student Six central characters. I'd relegate them to background characters that the Mane Six would occasionally interact with. I don't hate them, but unfortunately they kind of bloated the overall cast and made the entire season feel like it was trying to do way too much with itself. Other than that, I'd give Cozy Glow far more screen time to build her as the end villain, because there wasn't nearly enough considering what they were trying to do with her. Also, I'd re-write some of the more meh episodes and I'd scrap Non-Compete Clause completely.

I would definitely work on filling some gaps before season 9, and not do the school of friendship. It's very off topic from everything. All these character arcs were so terribly finished, it would be better to fill some up in season 8. This is a controversial opinion, because there is an entire other season to close them.

I would tell someone to make Cozy Glow matter by giving her a backstory/excuse for why she is the way that she is.
