Tom 891 May 26, 2012 Share May 26, 2012 For those here who don't know there's also an IPS Communities Android app in the making. I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar. Known as "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza", "Trixie the Great", "Tom" and "Tomzoid the EggDroid". Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,526 May 26, 2012 Founder Share May 26, 2012 The forums keep making me unfollow all the topics I'm following for no reason, and then I have to go and find all the topics I was following and click on "Follow this topic" again... It's been doing this the past few days and it's getting annoying -__- I noticed this when I realized I stopped getting notifications for topics I was following, so I looked at them and apparently I wasn't following them anymore, so I followed them again, but then later on, I stopped getting notifications again, so I went back and looked again, and I had to re-follow the topic again...not sure what is causing this but I hope it's something that can be resolved. I have the same problem. Every time I follow topic, forums automatically makes me unfollow it. I had this problem once (I don't know if I reported it), but it fixed itself after a while. Also your avatar matches the thread title perfectly. I've had a similar issue, but only with a couple threads. And when I do click the follow button it doesn't work. (Only on those threads) Same here Same. But only for a while. Then *POOF* It was fixed. I've had this going on and off for a while now, but wasn't sure if I was repeatedly forgetting to follow forums, or if it was an actual problem. Another bump for confirmation. I know that feel...Every time I post on a thread, it auto-follows that thread for me, but for some reason I never get notifiactions for them. Is this normal? I'm also not getting notifiactions for threads that I start, idunno why. :/ Also, kinda wish it'd let us choose to follow a topic first, before we make a first post on them. Anyways, my look on the situation is that it's probably a mere glitch of some sorts... I will need one volunteer who is experiencing topics unfollowing themselves to work with me and IPS to get to the bottom of this. I'll need the following from you: 2 or 3 specific examples of topics that unfollowed themselves which browser you use which skin you use (MLP Forums, IP.Board, or IP.Board Mobile) permission to allow an IPS employee to log into your account (they don't need your password to do this, by the way) Note: IPS is the company that created and maintains IP.Board, the forum software MLP Forums is built with. Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer your account for a test case. Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

Nas 2,873 May 26, 2012 Share May 26, 2012 As much as I'd love to help the community out in any way possible, I have found that my problem was that instead of follwing to get Instant Notifacitons, I followed them to get Daily Notifications, so instead of popping up in the notifiactions bar on top of the page, they'd just appear in a daily digest, and in then New Content page. Now that I've solved that predicament, I prefer to actually be notified when certain threads are updated, so I switched the individual followed-topic options as so. As far as my problems were, they're solved for me. My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Where that journey is headed now, who knows... I'm using normal Google Chrome on my laptop and MLP skins.

Bugz 159 May 26, 2012 Share May 26, 2012 (edited) What did you try? I didn't post any instructions. I followed a couple of threads, then posted in those, then waited until someone else posted. It didn't unfollow itself. Edit: And I didn't mean to say I tried "that". More like I already tried my own experimenting. Dave247 568 May 27, 2012 Share May 27, 2012 I've got 5 pages of threads I follow... Oh is that all? I have 9 pages as I follow every topic I post in as I am interested to see where the discussions goes regardless if I get quoted or not and something new might get said later on that I have something to comment on. I don't think i've had this problem as my list would be a lot shorter if I did. Proailurus 214 May 27, 2012 Share May 27, 2012 How do you see all of the things you've followed? Sorry about the temporary lack of signature, I have changed my name, so I need a new one.
Dave247 568 May 27, 2012 Share May 27, 2012 How do you see all of the things you've followed? You click on your username on the title bar up the top and you then click "Content I Follow" This lists all the topics you have set to follow regardless of the notifications settings that have been chosen. Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,526 May 29, 2012 Founder Share May 29, 2012 Bumping this for some attention. IPS and I cannot fix this without a volunteer. A lot of you claimed to be experiencing this issue, and all we need is the consent of one of you. Dave247 568 June 1, 2012 Share June 1, 2012 (edited) I managed to reproduce the problem where it unfollows a topic when you post in a followed topic using the IPS app. If you don't select to follow the topic when you post on the app it unfollows the said topic. Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,526 June 1, 2012 Founder Share June 1, 2012 This would include what....? You know, fsk it, it's not sensitive, guineapig me. #consent All it involves is allowing a technician from IPS to access your account so that they can reproduce the issue with followed content unfollowing itself and track it down. Honestly, they have no interest in going through your PM's if that's what you (or anyone else) is concerned about. I've worked with them quite a bit and they're very trustworthy and professional folks. Libertina, you said on the first page of this topic that you had no issues with following content, so you wouldn't make for a very suitable volunteer. 1 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

They be still human. All profiles are the same, mine must able to re-produce the error or it is an user error, not a software one. Also, you will need a control subject with no reported error to verify it as software error. FORUM GODDAMMIT
