"All of our kind deserves better." Jenna said rather quietly "Unfortunately nobody knows where to even start looking for the facility all that happens in, and it most likely is heavily guarded too considering it's currently the only form of reproduction for us due it being simply too dangerous outside Talon." she looked out of the side window "Can you even imagine it? to be trapped in there, for decades, or centuries, or even millenniums.....though I guess after few centuries you would get used to it." she shivered.

Oliver shivered as well. "I couldn't imagine how horrible it would feel. You all deserve better than to be stuck in some building."

He sighed and looked ahead. "What does Talon want with so many dragons anyway?"

"Are you asking why they want offspring or why they want all dragons to be part of Talon?" Jenna asked, even though she didn't really give Oliver any time to respond "In any case, survival and power are the answers." "not really that different from humans."

"Well, both really," Oliver said with a shrug. "If they want power, you would think they'd have enough dragons by now. I doubt even the military could stand up to an army of dragons, considering they're all just humans."

"Actually, no" Jenna stated "It's true that any one country's military wouldn't be able to win against Talon, but that's not because they can't fight us, it's because Talon would have the element of surprise, after all, who expects a dragon attack." "But after the first attack other countries would be alarmed and well, there's a reason why The order has existed since humans only had bows and swords....superior numbers and know-how of how to kill dragons." "The modern anti-armor weapons don't make it exactly easier for us either."

"Then ignoring weapons, there is billions of people, there's maybe few thousand of us, probably less, and that's counting the Eastern dragons too, and they're not part of Talon." 

"We were almost wiped out by the Order once, and due the slowness of our reproduction, we will never catch up with humans in numbers." "But...That doesn't mean talon isn't a threat to the humanity, we are smarter than humans, so it's only question of time when Talon makes a move to take over the world." "With our long lifespan, Talon has time to be patient."

"That's what I mean," Oliver pointed out. "They could easily overpower the army with dragons, so why do they need so many?"

He frowned and looked ahead at the road. "For that matter, why do they want to take over the world so much? So dragons can be dominant or something?"

"They can't overpower anyone else than rogues." Jenna responded "They could take one country down with element of surprise, but after that's gone, humans overpower them easily, because remember, it's not few thousand in one place, it's few thousand in the whole world, and part of that number would most likely fight against Talon if they would fight at all." "And then there is the Order, if Talon would be able to take them down, they would have already done that."

"And the reason is greed."  "And humans would be our slaves" "Something about food chain and all that stuff." "Not really that different from any evil human dictator."

"That makes sense," Oliver conceded, frowning at the idea of humans overpowering a few dragons so easily. "Though, what if we could get the others to fight back against Talon? They would easily overpower them if they fought together, right?"

"Depends on what you mean by others." Jenna replied, "If you mean us rogues, the eastern dragons and the Order, then yes, but there's no way that alliance would work, getting the eastern dragons to leave the peace of their temples would be hard enough, but the Order and dragons fighting together? That's just impossible." "Other than, only the willing dragons...no, that wouldn't be enough, and only The Order...well, it is possible they could win, but the reason they haven't, is because they can't figure out who or where is Talon, they mostly seem to find rogues and Talon's dragons who are on the field." "Even I don't know who or where most of the Talon is."

"Well, they must recognise that Talon is a big threat," Oliver pointed out, "especially since they're essentially building an army to take over the world. You'd think this 'Order' would realise there's strength in numbers, y'know?"

"Well, like I said, the reason they can't do anything is because they don't know where Talon is, you can't attack something if you don't know where it is." "And of course they know Talon is a threat, their whole purpose is to destroy Talon and kill all dragons." "Which brings me to what I said earlier, even though The Order could in theory destroy Talon, I don't want that to happen." "Because when Talon is gone, the Order has nothing slowing it in it's mission to drive dragons into extinction, that includes me and all other dragons who are against Talon." "it's is a lose lose for dragons like me."

Oliver bit his lip and kept driving. "So they're both the bad guys, then. We'll have to watch out for them, hopefully rescue as many dragons as we can come across."

It didn't feel right, having all this happen and not being able to help.

"Though I like your need to help others, we need to get ourselves safe before we help anybody else." Jenna stated "Because in this world good guys don't always win." "And we also need to be careful who we help, they know how to use your empathy against you."

"I know," Oliver agreed, frowning at the dark road ahead. "We need to take care of ourselves first, then we can think about the others. It'd just be really helpful to have some allies out here, is what I'm thinking."

"It would yes, but other rogues wouldn't necessarily be helpful, because....well, I'm on the older side when it comes to rogues." Jenna replied "The test during which most of us escape is usually when we are around 15, mine just was lot later than usual." "And dragons or not, they are still just kids." "Sure there may be some older rogues and the whole underground thing, but it's more likely to meet lone young rogues because anyone good enough to survive old won't be anywhere we can find."

"Well, we're bound to meet up with someone eventually," Oliver pointed out. "You can't be the only one out there, and maybe if they get wind of us they'll figure out a way to get our attention without letting Talon know or something."

"Like said earlier, there is others." Jenna said "But we're not bound to meet others, because we are talking about tens, at best a hundred or so of us, in the whole world." "Sure most are around here since Europe is more Order's territory and east has the eastern kind, but still."  "We must also remember that if we meet someone, they may be working for Talon and just act like a rogue to get our guards down."

"Good point," Oliver conceded with a sigh. He hadn't thought of the possibility that there could be spies acting as rogues. "Though, there has to be some way you can tell them apart from the real thing?"

"Not really, until the Talon spy makes a mistake right in the start." Jenna said "There is no one way how a Rogue would act, because only thing common is that we fear Talon, and especially the youngest ones may act in unexpected ways because they are so young and unprepared."

Oliver nodded. "Yeah, if there was only some way for them to tell right away that we're not with Talon or something. It'd make things much easier for us."

He sighed. "I just hope things haven't gotten too serious yet."

"What do you mean too serious?" Jenna asked "I'd say they are pretty serious already, what is too serious then?" it was a genuine question, because she wanted to know if there was something she was missing.

"I mean I hope Talon or this Order haven't already started sending stronger hunters after us," Oliver explained, "or however it is they operate. That one guy back there was tough enough, so I'd hate to see what else they have."

"Like I at one point say, it's unlikely that the Order knows about me, because they would have already made a move if they did, but when it comes to Talon...I don't really know either what they do next." Jenna responded "It could be that they send a full grown to deal with me, or they may send two or more at once to make sure it gets dealt with." "We haven't really been told what they do if someone kills several Vipers, probably because that would indicate that has happened, and they wouldn't admit things like that."

"Yeah," Oliver muttered, trying to think of a good way to respond, "well, moving around place to place should keep us safe for now. I doubt even dragons can read minds."

He shivered. "Um, can they?"

"Not quite at least yet." Jenna replied "But they can predict where we are going based on any possible glues we may accidentally leave behind." "But don't worry about that, I have considered that when planning, thus some things we do may seem bit odd, like for example at some points we are going to be going to west, even though our destination is in the east." "We can't always do what's logical, because our enemies assume we do so."
