Oliver frowned and rubbed the back of his head. Jenna had some good points; he wouldn't have run her out or tried to make a profit off her being a real life dragon, but others might have tried.

"You were injured and scared," he said, "it wouldn't have felt right to leave you out there on your own. Besides, all of that sounds a bit hard to make up, especially since I've seen your eyes."

"That's why I'm lucky to end up at your door." Jenna simply replied, before sighing happily "There's so much that could have gone differently, some better, some worse, but somehow I managed to get the combination that brought me to you, which in turn has given me the happiest moment of my young life"

Oliver nodded and smiled warmly at Jenna, sitting closer to her and snuggling up. "I'm glad I'm the one you came to too. I used to think girls would never be so interested in a guy like me, especially not a dragon." He chuckled.

Jenna chuckled, allowing Oliver's snuggling up "I would argue that you did not think that dragons wouldn't be interested in you." she grinned humorously "Until you are saying you have dreamed of dragon girls, which is more common than one would think."

Oliver blushed at Jenna's last comment, not really wanting to answer it. He wasn't sure what she'd do if he admitted to dreaming about dragon girls sometimes.

"Well no, I didn't think dragons would or wouldn't be interested."

"Oh reeaallyy?" Jenna said with almost teasing tone "What about catgirls? or any other animal girls?" she laughed "You have no reason to not tell me, I don't care about human social norms so I won't make fun of you, I'm just curious."

Oliver flushed bright red at Jenna's teasing, even when he knew she was just joking. He was hesitant to admit it, but she was going to find out eventually anyway.

"Um, well okay, sometimes," he admitted, pouting. "Animal girls are cute."

"Figured" Jenna said chuckling "It's something I've always found intriguing about humans, your imagination." "More specifically they way how you imagine friends and relationships and such." "And the way you can get attached to fictional characters." "It's interesting."

"It's the way fictional characters are drawn or written," Oliver explained, feeling a little strange explaining such a thing to a dragon. "Something about them makes them resonate with us and we grow attached. If something happens to them, it breaks our heart."

"Yeah, I'm aware of why it happens." Jenna replied "But being unable to make that deep of a connection to a fictional characters myself, I find it fascinating." "Best I can do is to get bit annoyed that my favorite character dies."

"Yeah, that's normal," Oliver agreed, nodding and smiling at her. "That means you have made a connection to them, since you care about what happens to them."

He grinned at her. "Maybe you know more about human emotions than you think."

"Sure, but it never goes as far as with you humans, it is always just annoyance at best, and I think even that is mostly because I know that it means that I won't see that character again." Jenna argued "Though I'm sure it doesn't help that most of my favorites are the villains, since I know they always lose."

"Maybe you just haven't had a chance to let it go further?" Oliver pointed out, shrugging. He grinned at her next comment. "Yeah, there's a lot of fun villains out there. Shame some of them are dragons though."

"Maybe, but it could also be that knowing they are fiction hinders it." Jenna replied shrugging. 
"Well, I would say the dragons are the most realistic villains, since we aren't exactly the good guys in the real world either." Jenna pointed out "But the thing I like about the villains is that they are always more interesting." "Because someone building a massive army to take over the world is lot more interesting than someone stopping it because it's morally better option."

"Yeah, that's true," Oliver agreed with a nod. "They have a lot more going on, while the hero is just reacting to what the villain is doing."

He smiled at Jenna. "You don't seem like a bad guy though."

"But I used to be one, and I'm still not a hero." Jenna pointed out "Sure I'm an enemy of two villains now, but I killed a dragon younger than me, she was a kid even in human standards, I'm not a good guy."

Oliver frowned, not liking the idea of Jenna killing someone. "I'm sure you had a reason to. You don't seem like the type to kill because you feel like it."

He smiled. "If you were, I probably wouldn't be sitting here right now."

"Well, it was self-defense." Jenna admitted "And I will have to do it again, and you may have to some day too." "But still." she sounded a bit...down "It was over two thousand years of life taken away, and for what?" "I'm a predator, so seeing death doesn't effect me like it does humans, but the change from the bloodthirsty killer to a young dragon not wanting to die is instant, you can sense it just before the life fades out." "It wasn't even a fair fight." she stared blankly in front of her "She was too young."

Oliver frowned and put his hand on Jenna's to comfort her. "Like you said, it was self-defence. It's perfectly reasonable to want to live."

He smiled at her. "You're not a mindless bloodthirsty killer. I can tell."

"I'm not, yet." Jenna said, leaning against Oliver, almost like she was seeking safety or something from him "But it still doesn't feel good to do something like that, I managed to ignore it when I was scared and seeking shelter, and when I'm feeling my happiest." "But it haunts me, and it doesn't help that I know she won't be getting any funerals or other things like that, she was just an another tool in Talon's box"

Oliver put an arm around Jenna to comfort her. He felt absolutely certain that she would never do something like that without reason.

"Well, maybe you can make it up to her?" he suggested. "When the time is right, I mean."

"I don't believe in afterlife." Jenna stated "And really, the only good thing I could do is to destroy Talon, and that something I'm simply not capable of." she sighed "I just hope the next one is older than me, that wouldn't feel like murder."

"I hope none of them show up at all," Oliver admitted, frowning and holding Jenna closer to him, running a hand through her hair. "I don't want you getting hurt, or worse."

He smiled at her. "You don't deserve any pain like that."

"Unfortunately it's inevitable." Jenna said quietly "Even if we found a perfect place to hide, they would find me eventually, there is only so many hiding places on earth after all." she trembled a bit "And I have a bad feeling I can't shake off that they are here soon, I just...feel it." "That's why I decided to do the plans today, why I washed my clothes today."

Oliver kept petting Jenna's hair to try and calm her down. "I won't let them do anything to you," he promised. "Doesn't matter how many of them they bring, I'll make sure you never go back there, or worse."
