"Well, that was anticlimactic. But still, good that she was caught. Now she can be judged and punished. Touch your diamond wing to her forehead, and hold your other to her neck. Don't worry, as soon as I'm in contact with her she'll be unable to strike back, even if she had more fight left in her."

True enough, once Null assumed the position, Fheng went stiff, as if held where she was by an invisible force, the weight of the Vengeance wished upon her pinning her down.

"Now, this is where you pass judgement, what she will have to do in order to be liberated from the weight she carries. Judgment is seldom death, as there is far more suffering they can do while alive than dead, and in some cases, like this one, death would be too good for them." (This gives you the freedom to still use her for other things.) "You can also assign a penalty if she fails to achieve her penance, or if she attempts to lash out. Make sure it's something valuable to her, or you run the risk of her seeking revenge. It happened to the Consul before, you should ask him about it some time."

Null would be presented, within her mind, with a list of everything Fheng had done to get Vengeance wished upon her, then it was up to her what she would decide for the captive.

(You're free to pick whatever punishment for her, given you know better the extent of her crimes. Plus that leaves her potentially free to make a comeback for revenge later. A punishment idea? The closer she gets to sentient creatures, the weaker she becomes. Essentially banished, she can be as powerful as she wants, but only where no one can see her.)

Her father was definitely worried by her statement, unsure as to what he should do. "Should we call for the guards? Or would they even be able to help?"

Arcade shook his head, "From what I saw, more bodies would just get in the way, I'm confident that Null will be able to handle it."

Her father took a small amount of comfort in his words, "Alright, let's focus on keeping your mother safe then, Void? You and I can guard the bedroom. Arcade? Could you get up on the roof and be a lookout? See if we can't see them coming from a distance."

Arcade nodded, "I'll call out if I see anything." With that he trotted out the door to find a way up to the roof while Void and her father moved to the bedroom where her mother was sleeping like the dead. Her father chuckled, speaking softly, "One blessing in this pregnancy, she's never had an issue getting enough sleep. She'd likely sleep through anything at this point, which serves to her detriment in this case."

Molotov would raise his gun, and fire off a blob of green goo, that'd engulf the *doctor* and goo him to the wall.

Or it would, if the doctor hadn't gestured, and one of the walking corpses leapt nimbly into the way to get glued instead. "I have learned from our last encounter. I will not be so easily stayed from curing you."

The remaining corpse moved to stand between the Doctor and the pair, allowing the Doctor to advance with cover from any other attacks as Felicia led the way deeper into the facility.

The PA system spoke up as they left the path that Felicia was used to, "Where do you think you're going? There's nowhere in this place that I cannot track you."

Through the doorway they were on a sort of catwalk bridging over a sort of datacenter, though most of the machines were heavily damaged. There was a door opposite them (West), some stairs down into the datacenter, as well as a doorway down in the datacenter (South). It would take some time to navigate the broken and damaged machines to get there though.

(Why not both?)

(Grey)

The volunteer changelings arrived at the Justice Hall an hour after sunset, as they had been directed, to find the door unlocked for them. The lights were dim inside, though they always were. Once inside, the door closed ominously behind them as a pedestal was bathed in red light at the end of the entryway, where creatures had previously stood before the judges. A pony stood there, tall, thin, and cloaked in a dark robe.

"Welcome to the Citadel of Retribution. My name is WATCH. I will be the only face you will see, speak to, and enjoy." The pony pulled back the hood of their cloak to reveal their face, their coat was a stark white, it was unclear whether it was dyed or naturally so, but the face also looked old, not so much as one who was old, but rather one who had been aged by their experiences. Their eyes, or rather eye as one was covered by the torn blindfold all Grey members wore, was cold and full of judgement.

"Stand upon the pedestal, and we will begin."

Once all the changelings were on the round platform, it began to sink into the ground, lowering them to another, secret level to the hall. At the bottom it was even darker than before, and cold, unlike the warm desert air of New Pegasus it was also somewhat humid. There were other robed figures there, all with their faces shrouded, going about their business. "As you have volunteered you will be spared the normal initiation, much to my disappointment. Instead you will be instructed on your assignment, administered your oaths, and sent out."

They were led into a small room, where robes, blindfolds, and daggers were set out, enough for each of them.

"As you don these garments, listen and understand these bindings:"

"Inasmuch as I have a debt with Vengeance, I will serve a higher purpose until my debt is repaid. This cloak will protect me, and bind me, until my work is done."

"Inasmuch as my debt is due, I will see and be only what is required. This mask will hide me, and guide me, until my work is done."

"I am but a tool, as is this dagger, and will sooner perish than see my work undone."

"I serve Vengeance, I am Vengeance."

Watch would wait for them all to put on the robes before continuing.

(Bling)

While it had been a bit rocky at first to figure out a set show schedule, they had seemed to be getting back into the swing of things including the use of the multi layered stage when two smaller performances were to perform at the same time. At the moment, they were in the middle of changing performers, a number of satisfied guests milling about in the central area having just exited the show as the workers were setting up the next one.

(Null)

The list of things that she saw Fheng having done, were atrocious. Murder and torture, pillaging, for the sake of the thrill alone. Families torn asunder, and even her own companions, amongst Le Perinne's ranks, cut down, for either entertainment alone, or because she had done something, that she did not want to come back to their leader.

The elder dragon might be a ruthless, cunning reptile, who seemingly had few morales. But there were things she simply did not tolerate. Including some of the things Fheng did towards younger, sentient creatures...

Null's mind darkened as she saw all of this, and gazed upon this worthless, foolish cur. She wanted so greatly to just cut her down, and send her right back to where she belonged. But Nine were right. Death were far too kind for her.

"Rosé Chevalier. You have done unspeakable, hateful acts, in pursuit of power, and pleasure. Until the day you have atoned tenfolds what you did, and regret the actions you took, this will be your punishment:

Your strength will weaken, with the lesser beings there is around you, and every wound you, or those you conspire with, inflict upon on others, will instead be felt mostly by you. You will suffer more than they, yet you will not find death, til your debt is paid.

Find humility and kindness, or suffer til you know nothing else.

In the name of Vengeance, I judge you."

She were pretty sure it were something like that it had ended on, when she had been talked to by Vengeance. It was something melodramatic at least. As for the punishment, she had just done something to Fheng - or Rosé, as she were actually called, before joining the cult, and taking on a new moniker - that was worse than burning in Tartarus. Now she were forced to live in this world, too weak to rely on her own, and unable to harm another living creature, without the wounds being inflicted on her. She could not conspire with others who wished to do harm, as it would all just fall back on her, so she could not make others come for Null, nor her family, and she would be a useless liability, for Le Perinne's regular usage of her flock.

And to make it all stop, she had to spend likely decades, doing good for others, to atone ten times over, for what she had done. She were forced to humility, powerless as could be. What fate could be worse for her than that?

(the next part does not happen, if the punishment isn't possible)

Once Null let go of her (once the process were fully over), and the griffon could move again, she'd tremble slightly, and stagger backwards.

"And here I thought you'd kill her."

Fheng gritted her beak, and with a shriek, went over to punch Ashclaw in the midst of her chest. Yet as her hand connected, it was her who'd feel the impact, and stagger back again, feeling the impact on her ribs, whilst Ashclaw barely felt a tickle. An outcome that made Ashclaw raise her left eyebrow in slight puzzlement. One could only imagine what would happen, were Fheng to try and stab another, but it were likely that the stab would not be fatal upon the intended target, but instead make her feel as if she were bleeding from her heart for weeks, if not months.

"I wouldn't waste time with that. You have a lot of debt to pay off now, you black-souled little beast."

(Void)

"It's best that she does. I don't know if anything will happen here, but... I-I don't want her to be worried. When she wakes up, you have to promise that you won't tell her, okay? Just let big sis handle that horrible griffon, and move on. Mom has enough to deal with right now, without hearing that there's dangerous creatures in town.

I'm sure she can handle it. It's just... It were s-so close out there. It really rattled me, and then I just think about what if they came for mom and you? Or what if there's more? I really hoped we were done with all of this now."

She tried avoiding telling her father where this figure had last been, when they saw her in the past. An escapee from Tartarus hunting their daughter, would just make him even more worried, than he probably already were. Hopefully there were nothing to be worried about, but it was hard not to, right? Not when it had been that close for the two of them, to get mortally wounded.

"So uhm... H-How're you and mom holding up these days? Is everything ready for the foals?"

She were  trying to distract herself a little with some other talks, but her sensors, and nerves, were up high currently. It wouldn't take much to make her react at this point.

"Awh hay no."

Wasn't worth it to shoot after this guy, if he could just control these spawn. That wasn't fair play! He'd take the hike, and figure something else out to do to him later. Maybe lob a bomb at him. Wouldn't be hard, or drawn out, to make one out of the stuff in this place, he'd recon. Though he needed a bit of peace and quiet for that. Probably someplace to work on it too. Anyway, right now, the menu was on running for dear life.

"𝔻𝕠𝕟'𝕥 𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕒𝕘𝕠𝕟𝕚𝕫𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕧𝕚𝕟𝕕𝕚𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕣𝕠𝕘𝕦𝕖 𝕡𝕣𝕠𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕞."

Molotov hadn't met Panic, but honestly, he felt like building that thing a body, just so he could properly smack him on the head. What an annoying little thing he was. And apparently, he could keep track of them. Least unless something got sabotages. Were there any sort of controls he could work with 'round here, perhaps?

Running on, he'd find some path, that might give some options. Of the ones he saw, his money were on the stairs. Unless they were narrow, since then, Felicia couldn't come along. If they were not wide enough for two ponies to go side by side, rather comfortably, he'd instead go for the door down in the data center. He figured the heart of an operation, functioning underground, would be on a lower level. Might also be some workable machinery there, if he were lucky. Just had to do his best to get there though. Some flying and jumping on his part, and a fair bit of crawling, jumping, and using her web to string herself down, for Felicia's.

(Grey)

Three changelings had shown up. The last had chickened out at the last minute.

The first were a fairly neutral, regular drone, sucking a little on his lower lip in worry. His name were Cravin, and some years back, he had accidentally killed a pony, during a struggle, after he were exposed. In a panic, he had tried to burn the body, and ended up causing an inferno that climbed several buildings, and ended up taking 4 more lives, and causing hundreds to be homeless. Actions he had regretted ever since, but not knowing how he could ever make right again. When the word came about The Grey looking for sinners, he knew this were his path. For peace and mind, and to atone for the lives he had taken.

The next were Yannit. From the outfit she worse, a changeling that had made her way into the socialite circles. The lower ones perhaps, but one step at a time towards the top, as she had said.

Her debt came from a time in her past, when she had become hiveless, and wandering around, and found a house with an ill youth. An heir to quite the fortune in fact. Out of jealousy and desire, she had snuck in, and smothered the youth, then disposed of the body, and taken over her spot. None had ever been the wiser, with her maintaining her position, and status, in Baltimare, until the crisis. Now she had started to claw her way back up into the higher echelons of society, and had done some other, less than stellar things to do so. Extortion, some evidence planting, and backtalking. Lesser things perhaps, but she were starting to feel bad for it, in recent months, and question if she actually deserved this life. When the call had come, she had reluctantly admitted to herself, that the message were meant for those like her. So she went.

The last were a lean bean of a changeling, currently chewing bubblegum. It helped with Mongoose's nervousness, and stopped him from instead desiring to go into other, older habits for relaxing. His crimes were... Well, best not to share in polite conversation. But there were a reason why he used to be known as the Blood Artist. He didn't want to hurt others, but sometimes, he just couldn't help himself from taking and slowly carve, cut, and twist art our of others. And not always after they were gone. He had been told point blank by the few who knew his story, that if he didn't go, they'd rope him up, and deliver him to The Grey themselves. He needed to repent, as well as just in general, get some help. Structure and discipline, in The Grey, would perhaps actually do him good.

He were here voluntarily though. They had just forced him along a little, to avoid him backing out, like the fourth one had.

Mongoose started to chew harder, and began looking around, fidgeting with his hooves, looking for something sharp, when Yannit broke in.

"Or for Pete's sake, just put down the envelope, and let him pass it on. Obviously we're never gonna see her."

Yannit poked him in the side with her knee, and Mongoose would take out the letter from his red sweater, and lay down on the floor. Then he'd slide it over towards Watch. Not all the way. As for what happened with the letter after that, wee up to Watch. They just knew the letter were meant for Grey Mare.

This were a creepy setup - and Yannit wrinkled her nose slightly as she gazed upon their new attires - but they'd comply. Cravin first, as he were eager to be able to atone, no matter the work he'd have to do for it.

They'd put on their work uniforms, and follow instructions to the letter, though there were a brief moment where Mongoose just halted, and stared at the clean blade of his new knife. Until he got another knee in the side, and snapped out of it. They were gonna need to make sure he didn't wander around alone.

Oooh, that was nice to smell. Joy. The emotion of Hive Cheshire, and one that she at least, found fairly delectable. Must mean this wasn't one of the fear shows. Who was it that was on right now...

She'd pop her head in, and see a new performer up there. One of the ones that had gotten in recently it seemed. Seemed like a nice one to get properly introduced to.

"Hey there. How'd the show go?"

Nine nodded inwardly, "Very well done, for your first time. You should let the Consul know, so an eye can be kept on her, but probably let your family know the danger has passed first."

The guards would be knocking on the door, "This is the Guard. Open up or we'll enter with force."

Nine mused, "Probably best to comply, they should recognize you after all the things you've done."

(Molotov)

Going through the partially wrecked datacenter would prove easy enough given her could fly over it to the door if he wanted to. He'd be able to gather another damaged version of the piece of technology he'd picked up in the first room, along with a few batteries that looked like they'd fit inside. Between the two of them, he probably had enough to make a working version, provided he had enough time to piece them together.

"Digging through trash? That's a new low, even for you."

Another point to their luck was the fact that these spawn, along with the plague doctor, were pretty slow, giving them plenty of opportunity to gain some distance. Plus the datacenter would prove difficult for them to navigate.

The door would lead to a sort of bridge over a cafeteria area, with some stairs leading down to the cafeteria adjacent to the door, and another door at the other end of the bridge. Down in the cafeteria there was a strange looking vending machine with a full keyboard, as well as what looked like a very large ball of yarn with eyes idly rolling about.

Watch nodded once they had all affixed their blindfolds.

"These garments also have a few enchantments bound to them that you should find helpful, as well as keep you watchful. The cloaks themselves have been designed to compliment your changeling magics, and should transform to match the disguise you desire. It will likely take some practice to get right. The blindfolds are enchanted such that your covered eye can receive messages from the rest of the Grey, as well as details relevant to your mission. If you tear it off, it will send a distress signal to the others. DO NOT remove it under any other circumstance. Also, while you're wearing it I, and others of high standing, will be able to see whatever you are looking at through it."

He nodded again, "Now, to brief you on your mission."

With some magic he was able to activate a projector, illuminating the room with a reddish glow, showing an image of the Trojan Embassy. "Since the fall of Grey Mane the Trojan Empire has encroached quite a bit on this city, which has meant an increase of troops in the area, not all of whom are as noble as they claim. Your mission is to infiltrate the Embassy, shadow the guards by whatever means you feel necessary, report back any info you can gather as to their moral corruptness, and be prepared to eliminate any soldiers we direct you to."

The slide changed to show a specific pony, a young-ish mare, secretary type, unicorn. "This is Staff Sergeant Accords, in charge of logistics, she recently went missing, foalnapped by one of the gang cells, or rather, she was sold out to them by some of the soldiers. She has invoked Vengeance against those who betrayed her. One of you will take her place in returning to the Embassy."

He turned his attention back to the three, "Any questions?"

(Bling)

(I assume this was an invitation to come up with something new.)

The new performer, who was just finishing clearing their stuff off the stage, was a lanky, yet graceful, diamond dog acrobat, her golden coat shining brighter than her smile, and far brighter than when she had first approached Ace looking for a job a week or so prior. She hurried over to Bling when addressed, eyes full of excitement, "Oh yes! I don't know you. You are Bling?" she sniffed "Yes. Smell different, but same. More worried than others." She'd reach out and take Bling's hoof to shake it if it wasn't already offered or if Bling's guard didn't move fast enough to stop the chipper retriever. "Very good, much joy, many laughs, wow."

Bling had her full attention, though she got the feeling that if she didn't engage it soon enough the dog would simply move on to something else with equal enthusiasm.

Null would move towards the door, agreeing with Nine on this matter.

"I'm coming already. Don't go barging down the door."

Fheng would be ignored by Null, who saw this as a chance to go in, and try and make another attack. She didn't think it through, on how her judgement would work if she tried. She couldn't kill someone anymore. The worst damage would be reflected upon her, and heal very slowly, so if she say, tried to stab Null in the chest, Null would feel it briefly, then the wound would heal the worst, whilst it transferred to Fheng. She'd still feel like she'd gotten a bad cut, but it wouldn't be fatal, and Fheng would have a few months of feeling like her heart were literally bleeding.

She wouldn't get a chance though, as faster than she could react, Ashclaw would be over there, and place one hand behind her head, and using the other to knock her out cold. The skeleton-winged griffon would slump down on the ground in front of the fire-orange colored griffon, who'd then move over to pick up the glass that she had pressed against Fheng before.

"She always assumed the traits of a dragon, were giving in to primal urges, and tormenting those beneath her. A failure through and through. She never would've earned ascension."

Ashclaw were not leaving, as she assumed her presence had been noted, and it were best that she simply complied for now. She had done nothing wrong after all. Just defended some ponies, from a foreign attacker. She should be in the clear.

As for what she said... Fheng and her always had differing ideals. Fheng believed one had to be a sadistic menace, to embrace the dragon, whilst Ashclaw believed in being more like Le Perinne. Calculating, keeping ones cool, and understanding that you didn't need to beat up others, to show your superiority. Other actions, or words, could do it just as well.

And look where their ideals had gotten them. Fheng were cursed, and had no allies to rely on, whilst Ashclaw were favored amongst Le Perinne's troops, and were in the front running for ascension.

Whom of them were right now, Fheng?

Null let them be, and deal with their own thing, and just went over to open up the door. She hadn't a reason to go after Ashclaw, outside of sheer pettiness, and frankly, there were better things she could do with her time. The griffon had been helpful too, in saving both herself, and her sister, so she'd give the cultist some leeway. Ashclaw better hope she didn't squander it.

She'd reach a hoof up, and scratch Lacuni behind his ear. The lizard were still sleeping through all of this, including the attack. Likely for the best. His defensive nature would've made him run off when she were attacked probably, and she'd then have to worry about him being eaten as well.

"I'd like to see that. Maybe Null and I can make something for their room too? I know infants likes those mobiles, to hang above the bed. We could make something with soft glass and wood. Something safe, that's glitter well.. Maybe even add a magic gem to add a bit of a glow too, so it really stood out. I'd like them to know their big sisters were thinking about them."

Felicia's choice of insults tended to be a little more... Explanatory, than most would use. To a point where it wasn't unusual for the insult to just go straight above the intended targets head. But she felt herself above simply calling others idiots, or being overtly vulgar, in the same way as ponies tended to be, when they got angry. Granted, she still called others idiots, but that were just as a general statement, rather than an insult. To her, that wasn't the same, as some beings were simply idiots at times.

Whilst she scurried along, not indulging the voice further for the time being, Molotov would flat out just ignore him. They were a fair bit of way from the doctor, and he had a better thing to focus on now, than some voice they couldn't really properly interact with. Nor did it seem like the voice were all that focused on wanting to have a chat, as much as just threaten.

So he'd rather focus on something worthwhile. Like the parts he just dug out! Had nearly missed 'em, but he managed to spot 'em on the way, and boy howdy, were they gonna come in handy. He'd wager that if he got a solid five-ten minutes in peace, he could fix this up to a functional apparatus again. Sure he'd have to find a peaceful place first, but y'know, one detail at a time here.

They'd gone for the cafeteria, though sadly, they couldn't just stay. Much as the vending machine caught Molotov's attention. He even used his magic to make the lens on his eye zoom in, to get a better look. Mighty odd construction, and in an oddly good state. Maybe this one were still functional, and had some sort of useful function? He'd love to find out, but Felicia's scooped him up on her back, and started to scurry as fast as she could through the room, near the wall that were the furthest from the thing she had her focus on: The yarn ball with eyes. That seemed like a threat of unknown proportions, and she were not keen on confronting this. No matter how much Molotov wanted to go and check out the toys of this place.

They'd probably still not get through without being noticed, as the clacking of her pointy legs on the floor were not stealthy, but it were worth an attempt.

"Are we going to save her? I don't like the thought of her being trapped by some of those gangs. We have others in the hive that's been part of the various ones, or attacked by them. The things they tell... I don't like thinking some poor mare is suffering from that."

Cravin were worried mostly of the mare, and not so much with the call to vengeance. He got it. Vengeance were his job, and he had to do that, but that didn't have to mean they couldn't also help others, right? He didn't like the thought of them tormenting that mare, while he had something he could do about it. That sort of cowardice had lead him astray before, and just... He could still hear them scream sometimes, as the houses were burning, and they couldn't get out. And it were all his fault.

While he stood between a bout of depression, and a hard place, Yannit would focus on another part of the conversation.

"I have infiltration experience. I can cover for her, if I can get a general idea of her behavior. It wouldn't bode well to have others suspect something is off about her.

As for the soldiers you mentioned might need to be dealt with, is it meant to be done in a way, which sends a message? If so, just leave Mongoose and one of them on their own for a while. It will show."

She were not a fan of the changeling, as she found his actions utterly despicable. She were no angel herself, but at least she wasn't a sadist.

As for Mongoose, he'd nervously smile awkwardly, then frantically look around in is robes, after his package of gum, and add another block to the glob in his mouth. It didn't really work as well as he'd  hoped these days. The urges were becoming Troublingly hard to deal with. The thoughts that he could just do it maybe once, for the relief, had sprung up more than once. Just pick one out, that no one would miss. No harm, no foul, right? And it would help others too, if that one couldn't be around to do more harm. It would almost be a boon to the community. B-But what if he lost control again?

His lack of access to a weapon, had a few times been the only thing stopping him from just going through with it, but now that he had one, things would get taxing. Lest he were kept under constant guards, of The Grey could somehow control him, they'd end up with issues here.

(Bling)

Bling were well pleased meeting this new performer. Ace had told her they had gotten a diamond dog, but she just hadn't had the time to come around. A shame she seemed to have missed toe performance, but there were time for that another time, right? Worst of the backed up paperwork were about done. Few more days, and things should only really need her involvement relatively little. There'd still be hive-related things of course, but she should still have more free time to enjoy the things in life she did. Like watching performances, or delivering food again.

As the paw were reached out, she were all too happy to reach her own out, and do the shake. Bruce wouldn't interfere, on behalf of Bling initiating things herself, and as such, he wouldn't try and get between. But he kept a close eye on the diamond dog. Their kind were dangerous, if they wanted to be. Even if this one didn't seem all that strong. More agile, if anything.

"Yep, that's me. Bling. And this here is my bodyguard, Bruce.

I'm sorry I haven't been around to chat before. Busy stuff after taking over here and everything, you know? But it's toning down, so I hope I can catch your performance soon. Can you tell me what sort of performer you are, actually? I could feel from the guests that they had a riveting time, but Ias a fellow performer, I'm pretty curious, miss..?"

She honestly weren't sure what the diamond dog were called, which was... Kind of awkward actually, but ah. That's just how that were, right? Maybe she could segway into asking about it nicely here. Seemed possible enough.

(Null)

As soon as Null opened the door she'd find herself held still by a magical force, as well as the pair of gryphons. A unicorn guard, presumably the one who had knocked, was holding them still as he cautiously entered the building. Another pair of guards entered behind him, none of them were armored, indicating that they were simply the city guard, meant for resolving disputes and petty crimes. The lead unicorn completed their survey and released them from the spell, "Looks like our suspect has been stopped, by the two of you. While we admire your bravery, we'd advise not taking matters into your own hooves in the future."

The unicorn stood over the unconscious Fheng while the other two each went to Null and Ashclaw. The one who approached Null was an earth pony mare, "Hey, you're that pegasus that helped close the gates, aren't you? Would you mind explaining what exactly happened? Why were you chasing that Gryphon over there?"

The one who approached Ashclaw, a pegasus stallion, was a bit less charming, "I knew you'd be trouble from the moment I saw you come into the city. Tell me what you know so I can go back to not looking at you."

(Void)

Her father nodded at her suggestion, "We'll have to run that by your mother first, but I think she'd like that idea very much."

(There's not much to do here until Null finishes up and gets back to tell them everything it okay.)

(Molotov)

Given the yarn ball creature was on the lower level, and seemed disinterested in them, they were able to get past it without issue.

The next room they entered looked like some sort of test area, on their left was a door with a keypad, and on the right was a door with a keycard reader. Through a window they could see into the room, through the keypad door was some sort of observation area with a number of papers and such inside, and through the keycard door was a mostly empty room with a wooden door standing in the middle, a key sticking out from the handle.

If they tried the card they had picked up earlier, it would open the keycard door, giving them access to the wooden door, as well as being able to go around the wooden door to exit out the other side of the room.

She was nodding, excited, even before Bling finished asking the question, "Innu. I'm an acrobat, of sorts, I'm more of an agility performer, doing tricks and such that wouldn't be too impressive by themselves, or done slowly, but I do them very fast, and all together, like tumbles and rolls and juggle and balance and all sorts of things! I don't do jumping though, except with hoops, and I don't do bars. It's mostly a show for the pups, but it seems to entertain the big ones too."

Here were one thing Ashclaw and Null had in common: They both hated the spell that'd been cast upon them. Right big pain in the rear to suddenly lose control of yourself in the air. Sure one could fight, but it'd probably be pointless, and it were better to just wait until it were over.

Null would shake her wings when she were approached, trying to get the uncomfortable feeling of magic off of her. Seriously, she were starting to miss her curse sometimes. Least then she couldn't be tossed around like a ragdoll, by some random unicorn.

"Yeah I am. And I was chasing this git cause she tried shooting me in the face with an arrow, then tried stabbing my sister. No one tries to hurt my sister, and gets away from me. So I tracked her down, and dealt with her."

Ashclaw glared down at the pegasus, her eyes telling a story of how insignificant she thought him, and his opinion were, though she wouldn't say that outright. It would be unwise. Though seeing as this prey already clearly hated her, she didn't see a point in pretending she cared about him either.

"I noticed someone stalking the pony, then saw them draw an arrow. I stopped the arrow, then beat her back, when she tried to stab the larger one. I followed her, disarmed her trap, and beat her up. Or do you think I would stab myself for my own amusement?"

She didn't care to point at the cuts she had sustained, when the trap had sprung on her, instead of Null. She had expected it, and dodged the worst, but a few scrapes had come her way, as well as the jagged arrow literally still stuck in her shoulder, bleeding down. Though the arrow did provide some pressure to stop it from being more than a trickle.

She'd remove it, but she were sure if she tried right now, they'd accuse her of brandishing a weapon of some sort. This one appeared to be just begging for a chance to get her for something. Though he'd get nothing more than her unblinking, cold gaze, upon his worthless little self. It took more than this to bait her into something as foolish as attacking a local guard.

As for her relationship with Fheng... None of their business, and they couldn't prove it either. Even if her robes weren't a torn mess on the floor right now, Fheng's robes, and enchanted glass disk, were long gone. There were no similarities they could pin upon her.

(Molotov)

This time, Molotov would stop up, and go over the keypad. Using his lens and zooming in here and there, he'd try and sort if there were some sorta indicator of where there might've been the most presses, to get a code, or some sorta fault one could use. If there weren't any obvious signs, he'd pass over, and use the keycard he nicked earlier, to try and get access to the other door. Which worked. Booya. One swipe for the win.

Mighty shame he couldn't get into the other room though. Seemed like there were paperwork and that could've come in handy. Never knew what might have information on the nasty creatures here, right?

Felicia would observe the window, and try to poke at it with her leg, whilst Molotov had a quick once-over on the door, sitting in the middle of the room. If the window seemed to show little resistance from her pressure poking, she'd try and hammer the tip of one of her tougher metal legs through, to gain access to the other room. If the glass seemed too strong for that - which were likely - she'd just retract, and go towards the other end of this room.

(next happens if they can't get access to the other room. If they could, Molotov would have the papers fanned out, so Felicia could scan them)

"Observation, and one free standing door, with a key. I know I'm a curious sort, but even I ain't dumb enough to open it up. Ain't a good thing that'd come outta that, if it's down here."

Probably a portal to some world, where squid-like entities with way too many mouths, eyes, and teeth resided, just looking for an opening. He knew those sorts existed. One of his late great aunts, Fuselight Boom, had accidentally caused a rift in time and space once. Was before his time, but he knew it caused quite a ruckus, even if they got it shut close again. Was also the reason why it were a rule in their family that no matter who pressured 'em for it, they'd never give in an work on portals. A rule some had blatantly ignored, but most of those had come back on track, once scolded. Few others had gotten transferred our of town. To work on less sensitive things, they'd said. Though at this point, he really wasn't so sure about that anymore.

Either way, they weren't gonna touch the door, so unless it opened on its own, they were outta there, and on to the next area.

Cravin let out a deep sigh of relief.

"That's good to hear. I understand we're supposed to dole out vengeance, but it's nice to know we also help out with more than just retaliation."

He liked this gig a lot more now. The talk of just vengeance had made him nervous, but knowing they did more than just retaliate after the fact, helped him to accept this a lot easier. There'd likely comes times in the future that'd make him question this, but for now at least, he had a bit of relief, and drive to go with.

Lovely. Apparently, she could get orders via this cover. An odd thing, but she'd give them that it were practical. Less time wasted on having others go and poke you about updates to the work, though she wondered if it worked both ways. Probably not needed, if the leader could see through it as well though.

"Understood. I'll be on my way shortly."

She'd linger a little more, as the others got their orders though. Mostly because - as she feared - Cravin would be teamed up with the unstable Mongoose. It would be best if she gave him a few pointers here, on how to keep the other one in line. Not that she knew Mongoose well herself, but she had dealt with others somewhat akin to him, and knew that a firm, strict hoof were required.

"W-Wait. I'm not a specialist at infiltration. And Mongoose is very uhm..."

"Nervous?"

"...Yes."

"Then listen up, both of you."

Yannit stepped forth, and got their attention. Her gaze measured, yet harder, as it neared Mongoose.

"Find an inconspicuous place to lurk nearby their center, and observe everything. Every little detail and routine. Then you find two targets whom seems to be shadier than the rest, and wait for an opportune time to render them unconscious. Some time when they are not expected to be back for a time, specifically. That will be your opening. From there, use what you learned from observing them.

As for Him: Be strict, and wary when his eyes wander. If words won't halt him, or you se him grasping for his weapon, take his knife. Do Not threaten the mission, by leaving mutilated corpses around. Am I clear?"

They'd both silently nod, with even Mongoose stopping his chewing briefly.

"Then get to work. I am expecting progress when I arrive."

With that, they'd each scurry off to their own mission. Cravin and Mongoose would find an alley that had a good angle at things, and would begin to hide out there. Transforming into more inconspicuous animal forms, and pretend to just linger around the shadows of the trash cans, if noticed. Otherwise, they'd just try and stay in the shadows, looking over things. They'd need more angles eventually, but one step at a time.

Meanwhile, Yannit went towards her own destination, sparring only a brief thought to the others, before focusing on her own task. She'd see what they had accomplished when she arrived, and if there were a mess she had to help clean up.

(Bling)

"I definitely have to make sure I'm here for the next performance. I haven't seen an acrobat since the Flying Fritters cam to the old Las Pegasus. It's amazing to see the sort of things some beings can do."

Bling was a performer herself, but her skills were in theater. Acting, singing- That sort of thing. Acrobats were on another level, as that took a lot of precision and skill. Especially if they were the sort who'd go through things quickly. She certainly didn't have that kind of physical prowess, and were in utter awe of those who did. She'd definitely need to check the schedule, and see when it was Innu's turn again the next time.

"I know you say you weren't an acrobat exactly, but an agility performer is still mighty impressive. And honestly, having a show for the younglings is a good thing, that I'm happy Ace acknowledges. The wider variety, the better. And by the ancestors, this theater is just begging for all sorts of performers to make use of it.

How's things with the other performers? Are you getting along well with them, Ninu?"

The guard questioning Null looked surprised and concerned upon hearing Null's account, "Indeed? Well, that does seem to line up with what the sparse eyewitnesses we could find said. We'll take it from here, don't worry, but also don't leave town in the mean time. You'll likely be asked to testify when she's brought up for attempted murder charges. Could you give me your name and address so we can contact you in the future?"

The guard questioning Ashclaw was unfazed by her comments, "I wouldn't put it past you, you cult types are an unstable bunch. Still, your account seems to agree with the reports we got. You're free to go, but we'll be keeping an eye on you. Stay out of trouble."

The third guard had finished securing the unconscious Fheng, lifting her up with magic to carry her out of the building, loading her into the back of a covered cart where the other two guards also boarded, before getting on the front and driving away.

"That went... easily enough. You'll want to let the Consul or the Judge know about the judgment you already passed on her, they may decide to forego a public trial all things considered. Unless you'd rather she also got tried for her crimes?"

(Molotov)

While the keypad offered no obvious solution, as the wear of the keys was fairly uniform, Felicia's investigation of the window would reveal that, while it was a strong sort of glass, enough weaknesses had manifested over the years of disuse for her to break a big enough hole in it for the papers within to be retrieved.

Only one of the documents was legible, the others having been to weathered.

Spoiler

Item #: SCP-860

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-860 poses no immediate risk in any direct sense. Even so, its unique functions require special measures be taken to restrict access and manipulation of the object. Approval of at least one (1) Level 4 personnel is required for the removal of the object from its containment area.

Description: In appearance, SCP-860 resembles an ornate key, displaying the characteristics of a typical mass produced key used in the 1920s. The key was discovered when a civilian used it to infiltrate a high security facility. SCP-860 seems to have the unique ability to open any and all forms of lock (See Appendix A), be they mechanical or digital, with relative ease. The origin of this ability has yet to be determined.

When SCP-860 is used to unlock and open a door, the door does not lead to its usual destination. Instead, it opens into a small forest clearing centered on an 80 cm wide footpath, designated SCP-860-1. Every observation of this grove has noted the presence of blue-colored mist.

As soon as any person enters SCP-860-1, the door automatically closes. From inside SCP-860-1, the door appears attached to an infinite concrete wall, and is locked. No attempts to break the door from outside, with personnel inside SCP-860-1, have been successful. Attempts to break the door from inside SCP-860-1 have resulted in [REDACTED]. See Document 860-III for more details.

The trail inside SCP-860-1 usually leads to another door attached to another infinite concrete wall. This second door leads to the normal destination room of the door on which SCP-860 was used.

A number of other anomalous events have been reported by personnel conducting explorations of SCP-860-1. These are explained in more detail in Documents 860-I through 860-IV.

Following the events of Exploration IV (described in Document 860-IV), only level 4 personnel may perform tests on SCP-860.

Appendix A: While SCP-860 has been shown to be effective in removing almost any form of locking device, further experiments have shown that efforts to disguise the purpose or identity of a lock have proven at least somewhat successful in defeating SCP-860's ability. In approximately 50% of cases where a volunteer was not able to identify a locking device as such, SCP-860 was not successful in deactivating the device. Due to these results, SCP-860 has been tentatively classified as 'sentient' and further tests are being run to determine its cognitive abilities. However, there are no results that show any traits that prevent it from being able to identify any particular locking device, only that the aforementioned device has been heavily concealed and disguised.

The next room was even more imposing than the previous rooms, the concrete walls had a darker color and rougher texture, a pair of heavy security doors stood on either side of a central pillar bearing a card reader. Over the doors was the label 'HEAVY CONTAINMENT'

The reader did not accept their card, the small display indicating that a higher clearance was required.

(Yannit)

Staff Sargent Accords was recovering in a room in the Stacked Deck, Yannit's instructions included guiding her to enter the tower from a back path, and gave her the code to enter the back door. Inside the hotel it had her go up the stairs to the third floor, which was surprisingly much cleaner than the lobby, almost like it was a properly functional hotel. Accords' room had tinted windows facing towards the central plaza. The mare in question was lying awake in the bed, she was startled a bit when Yannit entered, but calmed herself, "I assume you're the one who'll be standing in for me? I don't envy you."

She had several bruises and cuts in various stages of healing, most of them were expertly bandaged.

She sighed, "I... can't say I have much experience with changelings. What do you need from me?"

(Cravin & Mongoose)

There was no shortage of alleyways around the embassy, and no shortage of animal competition for their spots, which meant they'd blend right in.

From the outside, there didn't seem to be much going on at the Embassy building, a pair of guards stood out front by the doors, and every so often a pair of patrolling guards would walk by where the two changelings were watching. On one such occasion they could overhear the guards chatting, "I hope they hire some laundry staff soon, I swear, washing these uniforms is a real pain, especially with how dirty it is here. All that water coming off the lake? Makes all the dust stick like nothing else."

"Well, the Staff Sargant was supposed to put out the ads for that."

"Oh, yeah. Maybe she got some of them put up bef-"

They got out of hearing range.

If they stayed long enough they'd find that the guard patrols were very regular, a pair completing a loop every two hours, and there being about five pairs of guards patrolling at any given time, and each pair switching out one of the pair every complete loop, so each guard was out patrolling for four hours, and every pair had a guard less than two hours patrolling at every moment, ensuring a maximum of observation while also making it difficult for any pair to get replaced.

12 hours ago, Blitz Boom said:

Innu's face fell a bit when asked about her relation with the other performers, before she shook her head sadly, "No, they avoid me like the others. My friends... friend... says... said... that I'm too excitable. But I can't help that I have all this energy! I'm a Ruby Retriever for dog's sake! What? How can I not bound up to potential new friends and introduce myself? They avoid me. Sure, they act like they don't, but I can smell them, can smell when they don't want me around. The zebra one even used some sort of voodoo to scare me off."

She was silent for all of half a moment before she shook it off, going back to her energetic disposition, but it was obvious enough to Bling that Innu was still sad, with growing worry, on the inside, "But that's fine, I'm pretty used to being alone by now, so I just stay in my room when I'm not performing, was just heading there now actually... I should go, before I bother you too much, like the others..."

She looked like she was waiting for permission to leave, or at least confirmation that she wasn't bothering Bling.

The address would come next, though not of her parents. She'd use the address of her workshop. She'd be sleeping there anyway, so why not? Sides, it'd keep her folks out of directly dealing with these kinds of things. Annoying she had to stay in town, but whatever. They'd deal with that when they got to it. Might be a good excuse to stay, and think hard over a few things.

She didn't dignify the pony with an answer. He clearly had no respect for her, so why should she even pretend to have for him? He were a frail, pathetic little thing, hiding behind the authority of law. He were insignificant, and best just ignored. She'd show him in time anyway, when she would replace her feathers with scales, and she'd soar through the skies on leathery wings. Who then would be an unstable, little pony? And who would be the ascended, standing amongst dragons, as one of their own?

She heard a lot that judged her, and the others, as mere cultists. Crazies with no hope for their goals, who wasted their time. They didn't understand the power that Le Perinne had at hand, and the things she were capable of. If they did, they wouldn't question if she could do this. And even if it took them fifty years to reach the stage, where they were deigned worthy, what did it matter, when they would have millennia to spare afterwards? Their time investment, would eventually pay off.

"That went... easily enough. You'll want to let the Consul or the Judge know about the judgment you already passed on her, they may decide to forego a public trial all things considered. Unless you'd rather she also got tried for her crimes?"

"She won't suffer enough in prison. I want her out there, where she have to live with her punishment. Not kept safe all by herself, in a little room. We'll go have a talk with the judge. This is probably her department, more than his."

She'd send a glance towards Ashclaw as she were about to leave. The griffon tearing a long strip from her tattered robes, then using that to tie up around the wound, to stop the blood from trickling down too much. She should probably go to whatever local hospital, or ER in general were here, to get this out safely, and get a proper bandage. This wasn't sustainable.

Lest Nine had some comment about this griffon, Null would leave her behind, and Ashclaw would go look for someplace that either dealt with this, or that sold bandages, and/or gauze. Wouldn't be a pretty sight with her wandering about with this stuck in her shoulder, but whatever. She'd be judged for her appearance regardless, as it wasn't normal for griffons to color their feathers to this extend. Not where she were from at least.

And with that, she'd move towards the high judge herself. Best to get this out of the way, while everything were still fresh in her mind. Gave her a chance to walk out the tensions too, before she ended up growling at her parents.

(Molotov)

Felicia grabbed the papers through the weakened glass, and pulled them back out. Some of them were unfortunately far beyond legible, but one document of interest were here. One she'd scan into her hardware in full, before skittering over, and handing it over to Molotov. He knew they were in a hurry, but if she found it important enough to show, then it might be worth reading it over.

"...Aight, so... It opens doors, but you gotta wander through some sorta extra dimension to get there? Aight, that might actually have some use. I think we're better off taking that one with us."

Lest it were rusted into the door, Molotov would use his horn to snatch the key, and pocket it. He weren't sure if they were gonna need it, but better safe than sorry. Never knew when you needed a cheat code to move alone. If it worked as written for 'em, but in a desperate time, they might give it a go.

But not here. Heavy containment sounded mighty problematic. Probably had some big thing stuck in there, if regular staff cards weren't able to just waddle through. An enclosure for some sorta supermutant or something, he'd bet. Maybe a draconequus, they managed to catch, and neutralize? Were some weaker ones round that might be possible to sort out like that.

Either way, him and Felicia would look at one another, and nod in unison.

"Aight, we're on the same page with this one. Can't really see any other way forth though... Thinking we'll need to back up, and see if we can pick another route, before Doctor Creepo gets closer?"

Felicia wouldn't object to that, if the locked door were truly the only way forward. As such, they might try and wander back. Unless they were stopped in that somehow, like say, the doctor and his ghouls had gotten a fair bit closer than expected, and blocked them from going back. That's be sucky, even if they had away through now. Possibly.

(Yannit)

"I assume you're the one who'll be standing in for me? I don't envy you."

She had several bruises and cuts in various stages of healing, most of them were expertly bandaged.

She sighed, "I... can't say I have much experience with changelings. What do you need from me?"

"The less you understand of the process, the better.

Tell me, how are you feeling right now? Are your wounds mending well?"

Yannit would enter the room, after a brief moment of a faint memory, brushing over her eyes. A young mare in bed, wounded and ill... This one were more physically damaged, and older, but she recalled her first sin still, whenever she saw a youngling bedridden. A guilt she could for a long time, simply brush off. Until the crisis. All the misery and pain she'd seen since then, and all the ways that others used the vulnerable, had made it harder and harder, to distance herself from her actions.

It were not her only sin, but it were one that weighed heavy. The one above all else, that she had felt were time to face, and atone for, once the call had come. It seemed like a sign that it were time at least.

She'd go nearer to the bed, and place herself near, where she could either stand, or sit, and face the wounded mare.

There were a few ways that a good changeling, could learn about their target. One were the simplest, that most drones did, of just observing for long enough, to grasp the basics needed to do the switch. The more hardcore ones, such as the not so dearly departed, Queen Onache, could effortlessly break into the mind of others, and just take everything that was needed of information.

Yannit were somewhere towards that, but not exactly. She couldn't force her way in, but an unaware mind, thinking over things, she could kind of *attune* with, and get on the same wavelength. It wouldn't let her see memories, but she'd be able to align better with the kind of behavior, and state of mind the mare would get into herself. It wasn't a flawless thing, but it were quicker than merely observing, though she would ask questions too,. whilst this went on. Some more harsh than others, to get a wider spectrum of emotions.

There were many ways changelings did their infiltration work, and scouts tended to have some interesting ways of doing it. This were hers, and she'd use it as best she could.

(Cravin & Mongoose)

Whilst that went on elsewhere in town, the two changelings were doing their to keep watch, and observe. A few other, local animals had approached them, not pleased with the incursion, but they had taken to keep a bit distance now. The kind of way that Mongoose had looked at them when they went near to try and threaten them away, made them think this one were best to not confront. There was something disturbing in his eyes, that especially the cats could tell, wasn't right. Beyond the fact that he had been gnawing on the same mouse tail now as some kind of toy, for longer than a regular cat would've found plausible to care.

Cravin was fair game though, and on occasion, one of the cats would *accidentally* drop something from a trashcan down near, or on him. Depending if he moved. He were rapidly disliking cats more and more, as time went on.

(translating from cat)

"D-Did you hear that? It sounds like... I think that could be an opening!"

"How?"

"They're looking for cleaning staff. It's not the same as being guards exactly, but it'd give us a hoof in. And if we're cleaning for them, that means that we'd also have access to their uniforms, in case we needed to borrow some, for some reason. Right?"

"Oh... Oh! Yes, that's a good idea. But what if it's just outside cleaners?"

"We'll need to find one of the adds to see what it says. Come on."

With that, the two of them - still in cat form - would scurry out of the alley, and go look for one of the adds. Might be they could actually have an easy setup, that wouldn't have to include taking over personas of other guards.

(Bling)

"Nonono, I'm not having that. I'm not gonna see anyone in this theater, be sad like this.

You're not bothering me at all, Ninu. You're just very energetic, and I guess that's a little too much for the others. Florence seems to have issues trusting others, and frankly, I think it's a good idea you're not hanging out with Pip and Scruffy. They're great performers, but they're not good influences. They'd probably try to hustle you for kicks."

It was slowly getting better, but they were obviously con artists, and had been practiced many years before they came here, to New Las Pegasus. They were testing boundaries, and if they could stand hanging out with Ninu, would've likely tried and used the diamond dog for some kind of hustle.

"As for Hizu... I think that's something he does to nearly everyone he meets, the first time? I've had others come about that approached him, and unless it were something serious, he did his thing on them. I find he's usually tolerant of others though, so sounds odd to me that he'd avoid you. Let's go have a chat with him then, and see if we can't sort this out, okay? I'm sure it's not as bad as you think.

After that, I think I have a few friends I should introduce you to. Some nice company, that have the abundance of energy that you do."

They also had issues with others tolerating them for too long at a time, so Ninu and them would have a few things to talk about there. Long as she didn't mind changelings, as well as a few other, non-diamond dogs. Especially one she had in mind, could use some more friends, but they'd take it one step at a time. Hizu first.

Moving a bit closer, she'd try and put a friendly hoof on Ninu's shoulder, and give the girl a nice, warm smile.

Given the time it was, the Hall of Justice was closed when she arrived, likely Fheng would spend the night in a jail cell until she could stand trial. Given the apparent connection between the Consul and the Judge, and if Null asked Nine where the judge might be, she'd find an answer in the Consul's estate. Just as before she'd be allowed to walk in. If she asked one of the guards where she might find the Judge at this hour, they would direct her to the upper room where she had found the Consul managing the sun and moon some time ago.

Tonight the curtains were pulled back fully, revealing that the room was topped by an impressive glass dome that provided an almost unimpeded view of the stars above, as well as allowing the moon to shine in, illuminating the crystalline mare resplendently.

Selena looked over in surprise as Null entered, "Null? What brings you here this evening? If you're looking for Consul Easle I can bring you to him."

(Molotov)

(I should have mentioned this earlier)

Felicia would remember that her path through the facility had involved passing through doors like these before, as well as a similar set further on that were labeled Light Containment. They would need to get through the Heavy Containment Zone to get to where the Codex Harness was.

The key slid out of the lock easily enough, almost like it had been a perfect fit for the lock it was sitting in, despite looking nothing like the lock when pulled fully out.

Heading back the way they had come, they'd find that the Doctor and his spawn were just entering the Cafeteria from the opposite side. Getting past them would be very hard given the limited space on the walkway. "I knew you would see reason and return."

(Yannit)

There was a fairly nice chair next to the bed that Yannit could sit in. The mare was surprised by the initial line of questioning, "Um, well, the physical ones are. I'm surprised actually at the quality of healthcare you Gray have. No offence, but I didn't think you guys would be so capable. The mental ones..." she looked away, though her expression was a dark one, "I don't know if you've ever been betrayed, by those you considered friends, family. I hope you never will."

(I'll take some liberties on the line of questioning.)

Accords was amicable enough after that, willing to tell Yannit anything she needed to know to make a convincing copy, even if some of the topics were more... personal. Her full name and title was Staff Sargant Peace Accords, originally a member of the Equestrian guard before the incident, she had been on the front lines managing logistics in what was now the dead zone, until Celestia fell, which threw the whole supply line out of whack and cut her group off from Equestria. They were lucky enough to get found and rescued by a Trojan platoon before they ran out of supplies or were overrun by the spawn. She had once again worked logistics in getting the Æther project finished and as many civilians on board before it departed. She was there when the Consul defeated Discord, describing the scene as unforgettable, yet indescribable.

She had volunteered for this assignment before the Grey had switched, she had hoped to be managing a peaceful interaction, not what felt like a hostile takeover, despite what some of the other soldiers stationed here seemed to want.

She outlined her regular routine at the embassy, the code words and phrases that Yannit would need to know to get in and around, as well as a list of the other soldiers, including those she was most and least suspicious of.

For high suspicion she listed Nimble Force, a young but brash pegasus stallion who seemed all too happy to be assigned here after the Grey switched, Sapphire Twister, a bookish unicorn mare who Accords had apparently rubbed the wrong way when it came to protocol and regulations, and Full Wish, a thestral stallion who had always treated her coldly.

For low suspicion she listed Sandy Fire, a unicorn mare and her second in command since back in Equestria who had stayed by her this whole time, Caramel Hunter, a somewhat portly earth pony stallion who manned the desk and did most of the paperwork for the embassy with Sapphire, and Ivory Dawn, a zebra mare who served as the medic for the embassy.

Having spilled so much about herself, the mare was abundantly tired, still, she asked, "Anything else you need to know?"

(Cravin & Mongoose)

It would take a decent amount of searching through the alleys of the city until they found what they were looking for: a stack of loosely scattered flyers sitting in the corner of an alleyway. By how they were scattered it looked like they had been dropped suddenly, then kicked around a bit. Some of them had some distinct horseshoe prints on them from the clay. Faint numbers could be seen in a few, like one would see on a military shoe, but not enough to positively identify anyone, not without the shoe to match up with of course.

Still, they were able to get a mostly undamaged flyer from the stack. Sure enough, the embassy was looking to hire laundry and other cleaning staff, experience preferred, but not required. The position came with weekly pay, a stipend to purchase necessary supplies, and a room in the embassy. It also gave them a time for interested parties to apply. If they hurried, they could make it before the end tonight, or they could take some time to prepare and head in fresh first thing in the morning.

(Bling)

Innu looked unsure, but didn't stop Bling from leading the way, it was obvious enough that she was worried to go against what her boss wanted. "I- It's Innu, ma'am, not Ninu. Ninu was my granddam." Even speaking up about her name took some effort. It was an odd shift from the previously eager and energetic dog she had been just a few minutes prior. It seemed as though her mood was just as prone to shifting as it was intense. Still, she would dutifully follow wherever Bling was leading her, seemingly concerned about meeting with the zebra again.

Selena looked over in surprise as Null entered, "Null? What brings you here this evening? If you're looking for Consul Easle I can bring you to him."

Slightly annoying that she had to take a detour, but it gave her time to cool off some, which were probably for the better. The less she'd be visibly growling at others, the better, if she wanted to get a talk going. It certainly wouldn't be helpful at least, to see Selena with a more calm head, as she'd probably be less tolerant of Null's outbursts.

"No, I think this is more a case for you. But I can tell him too, if you think he should know afterwards. Been an incident in town."

Null would explain the situation, from she had been attacked, to the judgement, and the guards coming in to take Fheng along. Then she'd explain what she knew of Fheng. Which were little, beyond what happened at the gates of Tartarus. Mostly that she were part of some dragon-worshipping cult, worshipping someone called Le Perinne - a name Selena might've been told about in more details from Illiad - and how she had probably been the one to kill her originally, after being tricked by the griffon, back in the day. After she had threatened her sister, specifically, and in a spur of rage.

She also mentioned the involvement of Ashclaw, which would be tolerant, considering everything. Still didn't mean she trusted the griffon one bit.

"And that's about it. I don't think she'll suffer as much being locked up for years though. Even if she'll be weaker, when she's alone. But that's not up to me. I have my views on it, but I'm not the judge here. Not officially, anyway. What happens is gonna be up to you. Now you also have the details though, so hopefully that's something."

(Molotov)

Molotov came to a grinding halt, and turned around on the spot.

"Nooope. Nope, nope. That's a whole lotta nope from me."

He were not dealing with this one, since he had a suspicion that he'd just end up like those servants of his. And he had too much left to do in life, to end up like some sorta zombie, or spawn.

However, this also meant that there were only one way forward for them. Wasn't how he'd expected it to go, but right now, it were full speed back to heavy containment, and then make use of that key he'd taken.

Considering how the key had seemingly just worked, he'd make use of that in this lock. It'd probably send him on a trip through that other dimension, but it seemed from the paperwork, that it should be okay. Probably. The alternative were to turn around and potentially become a zombie, so he'd have to give it a try. Felicia even agreed they should, though her reasoning also included how they needed to pass this point, if they wanted to get to the innermost sanctum, where the controller probably were.

Here went nothing.

(Yannit)

Yannit were less certain of how trustworthy the varied ones were, that were listed off, but she had to go and see for herself. It helped her know how to act around them though, and who to look extra out for. Though the one sorting paperwork, would get some scrutiny from her. From dealing with various accountants, she tended to have the feeling, that you should never trust the one dealing with the paperwork. They usually knew more than they should. Among other things, how to manipulate things in their favor. Though this was more of a personal bias she supposed.

"No, this should be enough. I wish you a speedy recovery."

With that, she'd transform into Peace Accords briefly. She wanted to get a feel for her stature before going out of here, and the details were as they should be. Including her wounds. She'd need to acquire some gauze to finish the disguise properly likely. Shouldn't be an issue. And yes, she could just have that done via illusions, but in case others wanted to check on the wounds, the real thing were better to work with. She'd also need an escort, so she had to get hold of Cravin and Mongoose, before returning to the base.

"I'll make sure to find whoever's responsible."

With that, she'd transform back, and be on her way. Lest there were more to be told, she needed to get to work.

She thought of the things she'd been told as she traversed the streets, wearing the guide of a regular, non-descript pony. The sort who'd just blend into the crowd, and not raise an eyebrow. Quite some things to think over, though she tried to keep it at relevant things, rather than linger on say, the interaction with Discord's defeat. Fascinating to hear, but unlikely to be too relevant to ponder too much on.

As for her plan of attack here: Get the two idiots to pose as locals, helping her to get to the base. One being a nurse, or doctor of some kind. Had to try and sell it that she had been in for treatment, and were getting a hoof to come back. Maybe it'd be best to just have one though, as to not make it too much coincidence, that a pair kept showing up for things actually... She needed to ponder that too, as she went and got some things for her disguise. Shouldn't be too long.

(Cravin & Mongoose)

The two of them would snatch up a pamphlet, but they weren't planning on applying today. They needed to prepare proper first, which included talking through this with Yannit, once she were ready. Though they could prepare at least. Maybe if she didn't linger around the mare for too long, she'd still return in time for them to apply tonight. Though she'd likely tell them to wait still, to get properly prepared. It were generally foolish for untrained changelings, to try and infiltrate on a whim. It were far too easy to make out something were wrong then.

So they'd take the best pamphlet they could find, and go back to where they had been before, to look over things some more. Lest something happened, they'd do that, and discuss between them, what they'd do, if they were going to take this gig up. At least until Yannit would come into view.

(Bling)

"Oh! I'm terribly sorry about that, Innu. My mind must've been elsewhere for a bit there."

Well then, that had gotten mighty awkward. Hopefully she wouldn't end up messing up that name again. Nor that of others. She didn't like the tense vibe it sometimes got out in the air.

Moving through the theater, they could hear Florence practice some way from them, but they didn't need to go as far to find Hizu. He were in a room before that, along with his *props*, preparing the ones he'd use for the next performance. Different ingredients, for different power levels, and visual for the room, required him to be thoughtful of what he'd make use of, rather than just use the same things every time. Besides, it would make the performances stale, and that wasn't any good either.

"Hey, Hizu? Got a minute?"

The zebra nodded, and turned slowly towards them. This time, no cauldron there, to make use of his tricks from, so there should be no risk of that happening to Innu again. Not right now, anyway.

"Yes I do. How may I help you?"

"Just a minor thing I'd like to clear up. Innu says you've chased her off. I'd just like to have clarified why."

He'd give off a weak chuckle, before answering. And when he did speak, he'd look directly at Innu.

"Habit of mine, your presence are fine. Can I be around those, who'd hit me on the nose, I can take most things. Long as they don't meddle with my rings."

This were why he didn't get along with Pip and Scruffy right now. They had been snooping around, trying to figure out what all this weird stuff were, and had found the old rings. He'd taught them not to mess around, and as they had been snooping, they didn't bring it up with others, how they had been reprimanded. Plus they didn't like Hizu in general, since they considered perceptive zebra to be detrimental to their cons.

"If it matters then know, I do not think you a foe. Just the wrong time you were near, as I practiced fear."

Selena listened intently to Null's story as the glow within her gradually grew.

She nodded once Null was finished, thinking inwardly for a moment before nodding again, "It sounds like you're adapting well to your responsibilities as a wielder of Vengeance, Illiad will appreciate being told of this development so he can guide you on the next steps. I'll take your judgement into consideration, but even so we must be careful not to set a precedent. The citizens expect that criminals go to jail, but we can give her a reduced sentence, perhaps mix in some community service. A stint on the wall rebuilding crew maybe? We'll see. Worry not, as the avatar of Mercy I'll be sure to give her plenty of opportunity to fulfill the penance you've decreed."

She gracefully stood up, which Null would notice if she were paying attention involved the crystalline mare simply reforming her legs under her such that she simply lifted straight off the ground into a standing position. "Was there something else you needed me for? Or would you like to go report to the Consul now?"

(Molotov)

Using the key on the door wouldn't yield many results, but if he slid the blade of the key through the card scanner, or held the key to the scanner and turned it as one would to unlock a door, or even simply held it flat against the scanner, the doors would open, on the other side was the forest path described by the document, if they peeked through either door they'd see that both doors led to the same area.

Once either of them passed the threshold the door would start to slowly close, forcing the other to either try and hold the heavy containment door open, dash quickly through, or get separated. They would have enough time that getting separated would only be an issue if the hesitated.

The forest was quiet, no sign of any animal life around them. Still, they had the feeling that they were being watched.

(Grey Changelings)

Peace shuddered when she saw Yannit transform into herself, "No offence, but the resemblance really is uncanny. It's like looking in a mirror, but not."

Before Yannit left Peace pointed to a bundle of possessions sitting in the corner, "There's my uniform and the stuff I was carrying when I got captured. Should help make you look a bit more official."

The uniform itself was an equestrian style military jacket over a short trojan robe with a few protective pads that could be strapped to the limbs and under the barrel and covered by the robe. Peace would instruct Yannit on how to put the uniform on properly. It was torn and stained in a few places, no doubt from the ambush that had led to her capture.

(You can go ahead and do the interaction between the three of them until they decide to approach the embassy.)

(Bling)

Innu grew quieter and more jittery the closer they got to Hizu's room, lowering herself to walk on all fours with her head and tail down, but not daring to run away just yet.

Most of her fear changed to confusion as Hizu spoke, not understanding what the zebra was trying to say. "I... I'm sorry? I don't know what you mean. I'm not a very smart dog. When I tried to meet you, you made something come out of the pot, something that reminded me of..." She shuddered, fear rolling off of her from just the memory, but it was unlikely that just what Hizu had done was causing this fear. More likely, something she had seen had triggered a deeper, more traumatic memory, that had caused her to run away before.

"Community service would suit her punishment. The whole point is that she is forced to show kindness, and work to repent, by helping others. Things she will utterly hate, but can't fight. Getting her off the hook for the attack wouldn't work as well as making her do this. And if she tries something, she knows where she'll end up. She should be feeling weak already, when she wakes up alone."

A bit of schadenfreude perhaps, but Fheng deserved what had happened, and what would happen. Frankly she doubted that the griffon would ever accept her own wrong doings, and truly regret what she had done, as the stipulation for her curse to end were - along with making up for it, of course - so this punishment were going to be long, and effective. At least hopefully. She thought she had dealt with potential loopholes, but... Ergh, it was her first time doing this. Probably wouldn't be perfect, even with Nine being there to assist.

Huh... Null honestly figured Selena to be a solid mass, and not maleable like this. She didn't stay around the judge really, since her previous aura made it somewhat dangerous, so she never really noticed a lot of things. She wasn't sure how interesting it were, considering the other weird things happening in this town sometimes, but it were surprising at the very least.

"Might as well go report to the big kahuna himself.

...There is something. Did he tell you our curse are gone? Thinking it'd be best to say, just in case. No more need to get antsy around one another, because of that.

Not that I get How everyone's just okay living like this. I swear, every time I stop to focus on it, it feels like my skin should be crawling."

Just her usual rant on the subject. When she were busy, she didn't take much notice of it. But whenever things had slowed down some, it were bashing at her again, and she didn't adjust as quickly as Void seemed to do. Maybe her sister just hid it better. Meh, whatever. Had work to do here. Just had to try and ignore it again. It'd have to get easier eventually.

=======================================================================

(Molotov)

Took a few tries, but Molotov would eventually figure out how to work the key. Had he more time, and the peace to do it, he could totally imagine dotting down some notes on this, as it were a fascinating little thing, but they were in kind of a hurry. Had to avoid getting zombified and whatnot after all.

So soon as the door opened, he'd dash through, with Felicia following straight away. She did not trust this pathway, but logically speaking, it were the only path they had to work with, and the description in the paperwork made it seem mostly benign. So even if she were the largest, she'd get through safely. Not as cleanly as she'd prefer, as she had to jump once she noted the gate closing, and hence landed on Molotov, but it beat being separated. She couldn't save him from his own idiocy, if she were out there, far away from him. Besides, he'd be fine. Her legs took the majority of the impact of her, so this were akin to having a golden retriever jump up on you, and make you tip over. Just without the licking, thankfully. It were both impossible for her, as well as undignified.

Felicia would still get off of him, but she'd feel snippy enough, to respond in an unpleased manner regardless.

Once he were up on his hooves, Molotov would dust himself off, then have a look around.

"Well ain't this a nice looking place. Reminds me of the forest outside of home. Complete with being watched from somewhere. That sorta *glare in the back of your neck* feeling's mighty hard to forget.

Well, probably best not to make a mess, or linger on. Papers said to follow the path, so let's go and do that. Outta be an exit here somewhere."

And with that, he'd wander down the path, whilst whistling a little tune.

Peace shuddered when she saw Yannit transform into herself, "No offence, but the resemblance really is uncanny. It's like looking in a mirror, but not."

"That's good. The more accurate, the easier to make others believe I am you."

She had experience with that kind of thing. As well as disposing of bodies, but it wouldn't be good for her to, speak about that sort of thing. Not just now, but in general. Her sins were best kept to herself. She didn't see a reason to nervously ramble about it, like Mongoose sometimes had.

As she were offered the official gear, she'd wander over and accept that with a thanks. Might be it had seen better days, but that were likely for the better. No one would believe that she had been the one taken by a gang, if she came around wearing pristine clothing. Had to be at the very least scuffed. Might be that'd end in getting another uniform, though that wouldn't help much. Frankly, this outfit were ghastly. The guards really needed to get some fashion help.

(You can go ahead and do the interaction between the three of them until they decide to approach the embassy.)

After running her errands to get gauze, and preparing herself mentally for the task, she'd wander over to look for the other two. Which wasn't hard, as she could tell it were the two cats rather easily. Doubly so because their attention did not wane from her, as she approached., and the way that one of them seemed jittery, were far too familiar for her.

Getting the two of them away from there, she'd listen to what they had to say, then formulate the plan for them.

Step one, would be them transforming, and escorting her to the embassy, once she were properly wrapped up with gauze and bandaids. Step two would be tomorrow, when the two of them would find some forms, and arrive as some looking for cleaning jobs. They'd have to not associate themselves with any of the local cleaners, as it might just cause issues, but with the travelers around the place these days, that should be simple enough. And as for credentials, Mongoose apparently had experience cleaning. Small wonders perhaps, considering his previous things done, there would likely be some bloody clothes, tools, and general environments to clean up. It could come in handy here.

Both her and Cravin however, told him not to elaborate on his experience, once he began to veer in on that. The less they knew, they better.

An hour or so later, *Peace* in what was remaining of her uniform, and wrapped up proper for her wounds, would be slowly making her way down the street, and towards the embassy. With her, had she a nurse - Cravin in disguise - whilst Mongoose were staying with the cat form, and looking in from the sides, just in case something were to happen. If it were, he were supposed to take on the guise of a general changeling, and interfere, while the other two went along. The local hive were some goody two shoes, so a fair chance someone would try to help there, depending on who it were. These days at least, that seemed more likely. The prospect of a queen, had emboldened a fair few out of their defeated state, and towards being more productive, and interactive. Helping around with say, distracting a potential thug, would be up some's alleys. Just had to not copy one that were easy to spot normally, or they might end up with questions.

As for Yannit, she were walking appropriately for one injured, in the ways he were. Determined, yet with subtle signs of fatigue and pain as she moved. And provided nothing happened, she'd soon enough get over there. And no guards were present, Cravin in disguise, would then be the one to take a step forth, and knock on the door.

"Yeah, zebras can be confusing sometimes. No offense, Hizu."

"I can't blame you, for saying what's true."

Zebras were odd ones to deal with at times, if they were among the rhyming kind. Which the majority were, albeit of course, some exceptions were there. Mostly the kind who did their best to integrate in whatever place they had travelled to, though Hizu were a traditionalist. He wouldn't go that route.

Now then, Bling knew she had to chose her next words carefully. Hizu would be fine, but she felt how things were from Innu, and it were a little confusing, considering her previous energy. Seemed like she were keeping a lot of things down, the poor girl. Maybe something Hizu had accidentally shown her, when he feared her last encounter? It were possible. As the mantis incident had shown, he could sometimes strike some rather horrifying fears, if he put effort into it. Hadn't been something like that since then, though they did advertise that come whatever the local version of Nightmare Night were called, he'd have a show every evening, where he were allowed to give it his all. With several warnings included, and an age requirement, for liability's sake. It seemed like a good time of year to allow him to flex a little, and gave them time enough to prepare for it.

"He's saying he's sorry about before, and that it were just a habit of his. You apparently came around at an unfortunate time.

I don't know the exact details, but Hizu have a craft, usually made to scare off beasts and monsters in the wild. He's using that for performance now instead, but it's a kind of traditional craft, that's centered around fearing much and many, so he just does it against most everyone, out of habit. I can guarantee you though, that nothing's real. It's all illusions. I had some really perceptive ones sitting in just to make sure, and they've seen through it. It just feels real, because of the fog."

Not that I get How everyone's just okay living like this. I swear, every time I stop to focus on it, it feels like my skin should be crawling."

Selena smiled and nodded, speaking as she led the way, "Yes, he did mention that. And I know what you mean, it took me a good bit to get used to myself when I first came into consciousness, but I had a bit of earlier experience to base the sensations off of. You're experiencing it like a foal does, until they get used to it and forget. There are so many now though experiencing the opposite." Her face fell a bit, "To suddenly be missing something you took for granted, that was so crucial to your whole self, an unfortunate number of them did not want to continue living without their connection to magic."

She shook her head, her expression returning to a more cheery one, "It might help you to immerse yourself in it, try and embrace it, rather than fight against it. I imagine it's like wading in chilly water. The sooner you immerse yourself fully in it, the sooner you can acclimate to it."

Selena paused outside the door to the Consul's office, her expression growing concerned for a moment, before quietly saying, "Oh... that's right."

She turned to Null, "Today... is the anniversary of something important to the Consul. One that should bring happiness, but given the circumstances does not. Do try to be understanding if he seems... off."

With that she opened the door for Null, motioning for her to enter and closing the door behind her. Inside the office the Consul was sitting at, or more accurately laying on, his desk, his head resting on his hooves as he held a single picture frame in his magic just in front of his face. As he was turned away from the door Null would be able to see that the picture showed a unicorn stallion the same color as the Consul, wearing the same uniform, holding a small grey-brown unicorn foal. There was a somewhat obvious tear track on the Consul's face.

If/when Null made a sound the Consul would turn his head with a start before letting out a shirt sigh and carefully setting the picture down, wiping the evidence of crying from his face before turning fully towards Null, "Sorry, what brings you here at this hour?"

(Molotov)

Whistling wasn't likely the best idea when potentially being hunted in a dangerous domain. They wouldn't be traveling long before they'd see a mare, silhouetted in the low light of the forest, yet visible from her eerily glowing eyes, lift a hoof to her mouth to indicate that they should be quiet. No sooner had she done that before a rustling from the opposite side of the path, a short distance behind them, revealed the presence of something larger. It was mostly obscured by the foliage, but judging by the size of it's cat-like eyes, it probably rivaled Felicia for size.

It stood still so long as they were looking at it, but it would start to approach slowly if they looked away, or if they moved too far away from it.

If they looked away too long, or started running away, it would start to chase after them.

Around the next bend in the path they'd see the door that would let them leave.

(Changelings)

Before they reached the embassy they'd be encountered by one of the patrols, one of the guards matched the description she had been given for the thestral Full Wish, who looked surprised to see her, as did the younger guard with him. The surprise and concern from both of them seemed genuine. They immediately turned off their route to approach at full gallop. They stopped just short of trampling the pair, "Pe- I mean, Sgt. Accords, is that you? We thought those thugs had killed you for sure."

Full nodded, "We've all been worried for you." He turned to the disguised nurse, "I suppose we have you to thank for our comrade's return? The Trojan Empire owes you a debt of gratitude." He motioned for the other guard to stand on the opposite side of the changelings, "Let's get you back to the embassy so the Medic can get you patched up properly."

Unless one of them objected, they'd head to the embassy as fast as Yannit could appear to manage, the guards on high alert as they moved. The guards at the doors opened them as they approached, and a stallion matching the description of Caramel Hunter was sitting at the desk, equally surprised to see her, "Peace? Stars above!" He came around the desk to hug her tightly, "We've been combing the desert for days now trying to find you! How'd you manage to get away? They didn't hurt you too bad did they?"

(Bling)

Innu didn't seem to hear much of what Bling was saying, seemingly still lost in the traumatic memory brought up simply by the reminder that she had been reminded of it. She was muttering softly to herself, "I... I had to. She would have wanted me to. Would have asked me to... She would have suffered otherwise. She made me... I had to... I had to..." She seemed to regain a small amount of lucidity, though she was still staring into the middle distance, "Can I go now?"

"Ain't easy to just embrace. It's like you were on about before, with the opposite issue. Big life changes can get hard to adjust to. Too hard for some. I've been there more than once myself. Almost made it one time too..."

She'd never, Ever, tell Void about it, but the time with the sword she stabbed herself with, had not been the first attempt. It were just the first one that had been close to being followed through on. Others had been close misses, or she had chickened out near the end. A few times, Void saving her had been the only thing stopping it from happening, though she were pretty sure her sister didn't know the real reasons for said times. Weren't like the two of them didn't get into dangerous situations on the regular as it were.

Null nodded. She didn't have time to respond to it, but a brief thought did enter her head about what this meant. Either the birthday of his foal, his wife's birthday, or his anniversary. Things that should be happy, but seeing as they weren't present, something that'd understandably not be the moment of joy as it should've been. She'd be careful about her words in here, to show some respect. Illiad had shown her plenty, so the least she could do, was to do so in kind.

"Just wanted to report about a judgement, but it's not something urgent. It's dealt with. Maybe its better if I come back another time?"

A picture told more than a thousand words, the saying went. She didn't fully believe in that, but here, it did still tell a story. Currently that this were a picture of Illiad, likely with his newborn foal. Which to her, meant that this were probably his foals birthday, and he were saddened that he wasn't there to celebrate it with her. Who could blame him really? In his shoes, Null would be crushed as well.

(next part only happens if she is asked to report)

If he insisted she'd tell him, she'd do so, but getting through it more efficiently than with Selena. Cutting out her own opinions, and not looking annoyed and angry, cut out time frankly, and she couldn't get herself to start growling near Illiad right now. She were many things, but someone who'd try and make it all about her, or seem aggressive, near a being longing for their lost child, weren't one of them.  That would just be straight up unforgivable, and she'd accept whatever came her way if she did so, even by accident.

Once she were done, she'd glance once more towards the picture, and decide to try and connect here. Sometimes it helped opening up about things like this. Had helped Void more than a few times, to get it out of her system, with everything that went on when they lost their parents. Perhaps it might do him some good too. Or he'd flare up, like when others had poked at her. They'd see, though she'd try to go at it gently, and not dig too much into it, if he seemed dismissive, or saddened further.

"...It's a lovely picture. Must've been a proud moment for you."

(Molotov)

The Boom family in a nutshell really. Bright ponies, with a real flair for inventions, that could benefit more beings than you could imagine. But also so unfathomably stupid sometimes, you wondered how they even got out of third grade.

Molotov were a pinnacle of his family, for better and worse. A bright mind, with a potentially long life ahead of him, to truly make a great impact. But also the sort of idiot who'd stand in a strange dimension, and bring attention to himself. Times like that, really made Felicia wonder how he were even still alive. Really seemed like he wasn't meant to, and yet here they were.

Oh neat, another one in here. Swell. Maybe they could ask that one for... Wait, what were up with her eyes? Awh bugger. This was a local, not one of theirs, right? And she were... Indicating they should be silent? Alright, though why-

When the rustling came, both him and Felicia would turn around, and face whatever were trying to sneak up on 'em. Impossible to tell what it were, but it appeared large, and feline in nature. Potentially some sorta jungle cat, looking for a meal. Bloody hay, that wasn't how he were gonna end up going out! His dad had probably been eaten by wild beasts - they never found his body. Just a torn journal entry, and some of his ruined clothes - and Molotov weren't keen on making a tradition out of that.

Neither were Felicia, who'd jump to the side, and place herself between Molotov, and whatever this were. Her gaze transfixed on the thing, as Molotov moved on down the road. Nice and calmly, since if this was a jungle cat, it'd probably think he were more worthwhile prey, if he ran. Lost a scientist in Center Zero to that once. And what a mess it had been. Like really graphic, horrid stuff. Most of 'em couldn't eat stew for weeks after that, and the on site shrinks, had a lot of extra work to deal with for months.

As he moved on, Felicia would follow, though she'd move sideways and backwards, depending on the angle, and keep her gaze on this thing. She didn't know if it might feel provoked by that, but she needed to keep focus here, so that she could be ready, in case whatever this were, decided to attack.

Would be a mighty shame if the mare then decided to attack honestly, since they'd both think the enemy were this one. Hopefully it wasn't just some sorta ruse.

In case it wasn't, and they'd reach the door safely - or at least first - Molotov would open up, get through, and have Felicia follow shortly after, lest something had gone wrong. Seemed like the forest weren't without some danger after all. Probably why the report papers said that most got through it fine. Cause most, still weren't all, so there were seemingly an inherent risk. Had to keep that in mind, were he to use this key again later.

Okay, first encounter, and one were of the ones she were supposed to be suspicious of. Full Wish, the thestral. Though as they neared, she didn't think that even if he were not kind to Peace regularly, that he were the one who had sold her out. The surprise were an emotion that could fit many aspects of the case, but the concern told a different story. It seemed... Legitimate. Though again, there were still the option that it were born of, and currently overshadowed, a great amount of guilt. She needed to be cautious, and remain observant.

"Nearly got there. I were lucky to be found."

Her words were somewhat strained, as she needed to play up that she were still hurt, albeit eager to return. At this point, it were up to Cravin to take over, in his assumed role, as a medical professional.

"Mrs. Accords suffered a great deal of wounds, but thankfully, none were fatal. Ideally I would've had her remain in bed for longer, but she insisted on returning. I ask though, that you please let her get her rest, and strive to not strain her more than needed. She still needs time to heal."

It were not so bad as he said perhaps, but the point were to give Yannit the opportunity to skulk away at opportune times, under the guise of needing rest. It would not be something simply given at all times, but picking the right moments, it may well work. That is at least what Yannit told him, and he did not wish to question her orders. Of the three Grey changelings, she were the one who clearly were most at ease being in control, whilst Cravin preferred a driven mind to lead, and Mongoose required a stern hoof to direct him. It were the best arrangement for them all.

"I've done my part. I'm just happy to know she's okay, and among friends once more. Take care, Mrs. Accord."

"I will. Thanks again for the help."

Yannit would give a weak smile to the nurse, whilst Cravin would bow, before wandering off. It seemed his part in this rouse were done for now. At least in this guise.

And there now came one, whom she had been told were likely a friend. They'd see, but his reaction thus far seemed to be genuine, like the others. It was a pity that strong surprise and worry, could so easily stem from the guilt, of having sold out another, and then be faced with them. Or worry, that they might know, and wish to tell of your misdeeds. Though in time, she'd find truth amongst it all. For now, she would do hers in simply playing her part, after they calmly wandered into the embassy, and she were about to be greeted by the paper pusher. It were time to act upon the ruse once more.

"*groan* Please...  Let go..."

She were supposed wounded, so a tight embrace like this, should hurt. In sound and looks then, she would seem as it did. Though internally, she kind of liked the embrace. It had been long, since she had received one last. A shame she couldn't savor it, but she needed to have her story ready, once she were given the room to breathe.

"T-Thank you. I don't know how I got away though. I were bound tightly, and had scarcely time to think of escape, with the things they did. The last time I blacked out, I heard unfamiliar voices, and when I awoke, I were being treated, in the home of a nurse. She did not tell me who got me there. Just that she had been asked to patch me up. I don't know how many days I spend out there, nor with her."

(Bling)

Bling looked concerned towards Innu. This were not the response she had wanted to hear. Knew she not better, she'd think there were some sort of trauma involved here. What had Hizu shown her to cause this?

Speaking of Hizu, he would tap Bling on the shoulder, to gain her attention for a time.

"She needs not my presence, but yours may be of the essence. Depart from this room, lest you wish to extend her gloom?"

Hizu were perceptive, but that did not mean he knew all. He were not an oracle, nor a seer. He had not Clear Sight, to see the most likely timeline, and act upon it. Nor True Sight, to gaze upon all possible paths, and knowing what might transpire, from actions taken. Had he that, he may not have ended up causing Innu to relive old pains, or may even know exactly what had befallen her. Yet on this matter, the spirit were not favorable. Not currently at least. All he could tell, were that his presence caused trouble, and as such, it would be best to have her separated from him, that Bling may speak with her in private. He could imagine that ending better.

"Yes, of course. Let's get you back to your room, okay Innu?"

All the acts in the hotel, would be granted a room, as part of their arrangement with the hotel. Local ones did not take that offer always, preferring instead higher pay, from not having to divert some for lodging, but for travelers it could scarcely be a better deal. It were not the suites of course, but the rooms were comfy, and functional. She didn't want her acts to suddenly get ill, nor have aching bones, due to needing to sleep on the floor. That wasn't okay. SO she made sure that there were rooms closest to the theater, that were set up for them. Though they were also told that they should endeavor not to destroy things on purpose, or it might come out of their pay. Not ideal perhaps, but if they got ones with destructive behaviors, it might help deter them from that.

Bling would make sure to take the most direct, quiet route there, and make sure that Innu didn't end up getting lost somewhere. Normally not an issue likely, but in her state, there were no telling what she might do.

Once they were at the entrance to her room though, Bling would break her silence.

"I won't pry, if you don't want to talk about it, but if you ever need one to talk to, I'll be there for you, Innu. I swear that whatever you'd have to say, I will not judge, nor share it with others, if you decide you'd want to unburden yourself. It can be hard to carry such weight all by yourself."

The Consul shook his head, "No, it's alright. No sense in making you come all this way again."

He listened intently as Null relayed her report, nodding at the end, "Very well done, you've adapted well to your position, though the time has also come for you to decide. Now that you've settled your own debts, will you continue to serve Vengeance? Or will you go your own way? You don't have to decide now of course, I'd actually advise that you discuss it with your family first."

"...It's a lovely picture. Must've been a proud moment for you."

"Oh, yes." He turned to the picture before turning it so Null could see it better. "She was just past one year old when the Crisis started." He sighed, "I was supposed to go with them, on the Æther, but I stayed behind to fight Discord. She'll be seven this year, if she's survived."

(Molotov)

Their change in stance got them the rest of the way without difficulty, though the beast did start to chase them as they got close to the door, nonetheless, the beast would not try and follow them through the door as it closed behind them.

They were now apparently in the heavy containment zone. The walls were stronger, the lights dimmer, and the space a little more claustrophobic. The next room was a four way cross, there was some ominous shuffling sounds coming from the room opposite them, it was quiet to the left and the right.

(Yannit)

Caramel hunter was quick to let her go when she complained, the worry evident on his face, "Sorry! Sorry. Let's get you checked out by the Medic. Best you two got back on your patrol route."

Full Wish and the younger guard nodded and left the embassy to continue their patrol route while Caramel guided Yannit deeper into the embassy where Ivory Dawn had set up shop. She looked similarly surprised to see her, "Peace? Ah, to see you puts my heart at ease. Now, let's have a look, see how much they hurt you."

(Bling)

Innu followed dutifully behind Bling as she led the way back to Innu's room. It was very sparsely decorated, rather subdued compared to the energy she had first displayed.

She paused a moment when Bling offered to listen, "I... I would like that. Can we talk inside?"

Innu sat on the edge of her bed, waiting for Bling to come in to listen.

"I... I lied earlier. Ninu wasn't the name of my granddam, it was the name of my friend. During the dark time, our den got raided. The spawn killed everyone but us, but... she got sick, really sick, she was barely conscious most of the time."

Her breathing grew a bit more ragged, "No one was coming to save us, no one had, and she just got worse each day, I couldn't bare to watch her suffer like that..."

"I... I killed her... so she wouldn't have to suffer any more."

She was silent for a moment before continuing, "I dug out of the hole we had been hiding in, fully expecting to get caught and killed by the spawn, but there weren't any. When I got to the surface there weren't any spawn to be seen, in fact there was just the city here. Where... Where she might have been saved."

She broke down crying at that point.

"They want me to stay and try relaxing. I thought that maybe, with everything happening now, I could. But Fheng reminded me of something. I'll need more time, but you'll have your answer soon, I think."

Fheng had reminded her, that there were still evil out there, that could come for her family. Others as well. There needed to be those, who dealt with them, and she had been ready to take on that responsibility before. Her sister and parents were settled now after all. They wouldn't need her there. But then... Arcade had come into her life, and she felt very reluctant to leave him behind. The one pony, who made her think think like perhaps, she were more, than just the sacrifice in the family, that had to go and clean up messes, so they could be safe.

The choice between duty, and a chance at life... She needed to speak with those who could say the most of this subject, in private. Which were not an issue with Nine, as he were in her head, but that's also why she'd never really be in private. Guess it didn't matter, since it wasn't like he could tell on anyone though.

"Oh, yes." He turned to the picture before turning it so Null could see it better. "She was just past one year old when the Crisis started." He sighed, "I was supposed to go with them, on the Æther, but I stayed behind to fight Discord. She'll be seven this year, if she's survived."

"A lot of beings are alive, because you stayed to fight, and won. If not, do you think there'd be any left by now, beyond his servants? Including The Æther? How long before he would have tracked it down, and ended the last point of resistance?

I would never tell you, nor anyone else, to not worry, when they don't know how their family is doing. But you've given her, your wife, and a lot of others, a chance to live. And when they come back some day, the fact there's a world left to return to, and help flourish anew, is in large parts, due to you. It doesn't change anything now, I know, but my point is just that from where I stand, everything you did, were to protect your family.

I got every faith that you succeeded, and she's growing up to be a daughter you can be proud of."

"Seems like we got through safely, into... Well, strong containment, or a weird closet of sorts. Ain't the biggest place I've ever seen at least, that's fer sure. Best we keep moving."

Coming to the cross, it seemed they had some options. They could go left, or right. Not straight ahead. Hay nawh would he wander the path, that might as well have a sign on it going *Certain death*. He might be a little daft at times, but there were limits.

"𝕃𝕖𝕗𝕥."

Felicia hadn't this place mapped out, as she were in a new area, so her pathing were a guess, as much as his would've been. Still, she cared not to wait for him to ponder things. The thing from the forest may have stayed back, but the door might not hold the doctor and his creations, out forever. Whatever copy Panic had put into the system here, might also just open the door for him, which wouldn't be good either, so they had to keep moving.

"As good a choice as any. What could there really be? Bunch of blood infecting, mutant bees?"

Actually, that sounded like just the thing they'd keep here... Darn it, he best not have accidentally hit truth, via his sarcasm.

Interesting. So this were their zebra? Not much to be gleamed from her thus far, but she seemed surprised at seeing Peace returned. Seemed as if she were not gazing through the disguise then. A boon for certain. Some of those odd equines, could get rather annoyi8ng to deal with, when you wanted to disguise yourself as another.

Still, it may just be a rouse. She needed to keep her wits about her, when it came to this one, despite Peace's low threat assertion of her.

She also didn't seem to be one of those who rhymed her every sentence. Perhaps there were some correlation? The perceptive ones, needing to be very traditional, and thus speak like their kind were known to do more often? A fascinating thought, but not one she could indulge in right now. Perhaps never, if she were not careful.

The zebra would find the wounds looked genuine. Which mind you, were perhaps necessary, but also rather uncomfortable. better than actually beating herself up though. That would've been going a bit too far into the role, for her own taste.

"The nurse said I got off easy. Didn't feel like it though."

(Bling)

Before entering, Bling had asked Bruce to stay outside, and guard the door. She saw he wasn't too thrilled about leaving her alone, but he understood. So he stayed outside, and ignored whatever mumbling he might hear from in there, whilst ensuring that none passed him. He could probably hear something if he tried, but this were another part of the job, of guarding a changeling queen. When they told you to watch out, that also meant to keep your mouth and ears shut, for anything behind you, that wasn't a scream. Enough mind scourers in the world, to make it dangerous to have too many know certain delicate things.

At least that's how his old queen had worded it. Frankly he agreed. None of his business what she were saying, unless he were asked to listen in. Just up to him to keep her safe.

When I got to the surface there weren't any spawn to be seen, in fact there was just the city here. Where... Where she might have been saved."

She broke down crying at that point.

Bling didn't hesitate, as she saw Innu starting to cry, as the recalled the loss of her friend. She rushed straight ahead, and embraced the diamond dog in a tight hug. A hoof behind her head if possible too, to stroke her head in the caring way that most races understood, were a kind gesture. Barring a few, who thought it an insult, and would punch you in the face. She knew that from experience. Didn't mean she wouldn't still try, when one were in an obvious state where they could use comfort.

"It's okay Innu, it's okay. I'm here. Just let it all out."

Bling wasn't going to feast upon this, as it were both insanely rude, and because sadness made her feel icky. One of those emotions she just couldn't stomach properly. Though it were mostly the incredible rudeness there'd be, in her trying to do such a horrid thing, at this vulnerable moment. Who'd do such a thing?

Several she knew of, sadly. But that didn't mean she would take part.

"You poor thing. I can't imagine how hard it must've been for you. But you can't blame yourself over this. You didn't know, and she was in a lot of pain. It's a horrible choice to be faced with, but you did what you did, out of kindness"

She understood to some degree, what pain could come from this. Not exactly though, but she had spoken with others, who had the same experience. Killing loved ones out of kindness, due to injuries, or because it were a better alternative, than what would happen, if the spawn got them. She heard the recounts more than a dozen times, and it were always as horrible as the last. Just trying to imagine what Innu and they went through... She couldn't. She could only sympathize with them, and understand what little you could, as an outsider to this.

Perhaps it would be good for her, if she came into contact with some of those that Bling knew. They'd understand her better, and could share tales of how they managed to get through doing, what were one of the hardest decisions, that one could make.

She'll be around 27 when the Æther returns. All grown up, and I'll have missed it." He sighed shaking his head. "Still, can't be getting stuck on what can't be. Best to keep working on making the world a place she'll be able to raise her own foals in. Is there anything else I can do for you tonight? Given what you've told me, I would assume that your family is anxiously awaiting your return."

(Molotov)

The left door led to a hallway, which led to a T where they could continue east or turn south. (I'll use cardinal directions to make it easier to figure out where you are in the facility. Their entry point is at the northernmost part of the facility)

If Felicia or Molotov had infrared vision, they'd be able to detect what looked like the corpse of a rather spindly looking pony through the door to the east, which would be invisible otherwise.

"Knowing just how many creatures they've killed for research you're still going along with them? I thought you were smarter than that."

(Yannit)

The zebra did a very thorough examination of the injuries, as was to be expected of a medical professional, before bandaging them up properly. "You appear to have gotten off easy, you wounds seem wholly superficial, though convincingly detailed." She held her hooves up, "Now now, you don't have to worry about me blowing your cover, just... just promise me that the real Peace is safe."

Peace had told Yannit a few things she could say to the embassy members if she were discovered and needed convincing that Peace was alright. Things Only they and Peace would know, and that Peace would never tell anyone else. Using one of these with Full Wish would go a long way to reassure her.

If Yannit asked how Full had found her out, she would simply smile, "I'm the medic, I know a lot about everyone that they don't know about themselves. Little things like the number and arrangement of grey hairs or odd lumps. You'd have to have studied her for as long as I have to get it exactly right. Plus, you didn't flinch when I pressed your flank, like she always does."

"Now, I won't pry into why Peace sent you in her stead. But if there's any way I can help, you let me know."

(Bling)

Innu curled up in Bling's embrace, leaning in to the rubbing hoof, though still shaking as she lay crying on the bed.

It took her a good few minutes to get ahold of herself. She took a deep breath before sitting back up on the bed, "Sorry, I try to distract myself, keep moving and doing things so I don't have time to remember. I just worry that I didn't do the right thing. That she hates me, wherever she is, for killing her."

"Then you just gotta figure out how you're gonna spoil your grandfoals rotten, while doing some catching up. And really, who knows? With Discord gone, and the gates all shut up, they might eventually learn about it, and turn back home earlier. Weirder things have happened.

As for my family, they're anxious I bet, but they're still there to keep each other company, and Void can easily manage to keep 'em guarded on her own. I'm more worried about you right now. Doesn't seem right to leave you all by your lonesome, when you're having a sad time.

Is there anything I can do for you, Illiad?"

One of the rare times she didn't just call him consul. Which were usually out of a sign of respect, but this time, it felt more appropriate to simple call him by his name. Just the title felt a little... Impersonal, she supposed? Few choice words one could use, but that one seemed to fit the bill well.

==================================================================

(Molotov)

Molotov did use to have infrared. His old spectacle were larger, as it covered his eye, and had a wide range of options to pick from. However, that one were long since damaged, and then scrapped for parts. This new one were lighter and less intrusive, but also limited in functions for now, as it were an experimental lens. Infrared had been one of those he hadn't been able to get over yet, as he still had to sort the issue of radiation, slowly frying ones vision. He had a few ideas though, that should carry some potential results, but that wasn't helping right now.

Felicia on the other hoof, did have it, as she were designed, redesigned, and upgraded several times, to be effective at guarding. Couldn't do that, if her vision were limited, so she had a fair bit of options. She just mostly didn't care to use them, as it were often something she considered a waste of energy and processing power, due to how often, other things could interfere with it. In this place though, it seemed prudent to try right now, as they didn't know what were waiting for them in this high danger area, which is how she saw the corpse. Which should not really be possible. If it were dead, how were she seeing it?

"𝔸𝕧𝕠𝕚𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕚𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟. ℙ𝕠𝕥𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕒𝕟𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕝𝕠𝕦𝕤 𝕙𝕒𝕫𝕒𝕣𝕕 𝕕𝕖𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕖𝕕."

"I'll take your word for it. Let's pick another route then.

And you, weird voice guy, who says I'm siding with either of ya? I'm here to help clean up a mess, not play politics. All I know is, that you're trying to kill us, so frankly, I ain't inclined to be on your side. Plus y'know, last time someone here went along with a creepy voice outta nowhere, we got a dangerous AI on the loose. I ain't inclined to repe- Ouch! Come on. I was trying to make a point."

Felicia lowered the leg she had used, to thwack him on the back of the head with.

"𝕊𝕠 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕀.

𝕀𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕒𝕝𝕜𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕞𝕖, 𝕀 𝕤𝕖𝕖 𝕟𝕠 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕤𝕠𝕟 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕣𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦. 𝕀 𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕞𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕣/𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤 𝕚𝕟𝕕𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕥𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕒 𝕓𝕒𝕕 𝕕𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟. 𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕀 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕤𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕤𝕠 𝕗𝕒𝕣, 𝕒𝕡𝕡𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕤 𝕓𝕖𝕤𝕥 𝕤𝕦𝕚𝕥𝕖𝕕 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕝𝕠𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕞 𝕔𝕠𝕟𝕥𝕒𝕚𝕟𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥."

Bit of a change in attitude to before, but she'd been given time to mull it over, and barring some examples, this place were likely best to have been here, as it served a function. Those who'd likely been killed from it though, would likely disagree. But she did not have the data, to think over if the price was worth it.

Irritating. So the zebra were attentive after all. Not in the way she had at first thought though. It were down to the small details, that she hadn't taken care of ¨sorting out. Lack of time to fully study Peace were biting her in the rear right now, but so far, it appeared that the zebra were not interested in blowing her cover. Interesting. Might be she'd have an ally of sort here after all. Even before she managed to get the idiots on the inside.

"She is recovering. That is all I can say, for her own safety."

Location, and details of her condition, she'd keep to herself. Mostly for the benefit of Peace herself. This may well be a rouse, so she would not divulge where the mare were. Though she'd be willing to bring a message back perhaps. When she'd deliver it, would be hard to say though. For the time being, she'd need to remain here, so probably it'd be at least some days.

To reassure the zebra further, Yannit would speak one of the phrases, that she had been told by Peace, could be used for reassurance purposes. Full Wish were in on the scam now, like it or not, so she'd need to place some degree of trust in the zebra for now. She may still be the culprit though. You couldn't trust even those, who claimed to be your friend. They were oftentimes, more able - and willing - to stab you in the back. She knew from experience.

As for helping... Can you tell me if you noticed anything out of the ordinary? Anyone acting strange a few days prior to, or after the abduction?"

It would be way too easy, if she already got an answer, but as the resident medic, maybe Full had some insight into others, that could be helpful to at least narrow the scope. Provided it wasn't a wild goose chase, but she'd still work under the assumption that this zebra might be deceiving her, and would use misleading, false information as something incriminating.

Maybe she were being overly paranoid here, but then, what if she wasn't? She knew little, beyond someone here were a traitor to their own, and that they rightly deserved what would come to them. It were a matter of finding out who it were first though. That would be the challenge, and she could not exonerate anyone. At least not at this current stage in the process.

Bling could do hundreds of things right now. Even when things were seemingly swimming, there were always something she could do for the hive. Yet still, she were needed here, to lend her ear and comfort, to her sad employee, and she wouldn't leave her side at this delicate time. She couldn't look herself in the eyes again, if she did so.

Heh, maybe her mother had been right, when she called her a tireless idealist. Always with such a glimmer in her eye... *sigh* How she missed Cheshire so... Rasputin's guidance were invaluable, and she's always be grateful to him, for helping her through the rough start, but she really missed the counsel of her mother sometimes.

Seeing your loved ones in pain, and knowing there's little you can do to help them... It breaks many, and it's few among those, who can do what you did. Even fewer still, who feels good about it afterwards.

I won't tell others, and I will never judge you.  All I want to, is hope with all my being, that your friend wouldn't hate you for this. That she'd understand, and wish for you to be happy.

There are... Others in town, who knows the kind of pain you're going through. I will not do anything, unless you're comfortable with it, but I'd like you to think about meeting them, okay? I think you might do well, in becoming part of their support group.

There is no pressure though, Innu. It's just an offer, from someone who wants what's best for you."

The Consul was stunned by Null's offer, pausing what he was doing to consider, before shaking his head with a slight smile, "No no, it's alright. You've helped me plenty already. Were you still under your curse I'd ask to sit next to you for a bit, but alas." He shrugged, motioning towards the door with a kind expression, "Your family needs you more than I do, but for what it's worth, thank you for offering."

Null wouldn't encounter any difficulties getting back to her parents' house. Unless she were trying to sneak up on it, Arcade would spot her coming from his position on the roof, and climb down to run to her, stopping just short of running her over, "Are you alright? Is that griffon dealt with? You were gone so long, I was starting to worry."

(Molotov)

Not going down the hallway with the corpse left them with one other option besides re-tracing their steps. Heading south brought them to a room with elevators, both of which were out of commission. The one on the left had apparently fallen from the top, its crumpled remains sitting at the bottom of the shaft which they could see through the open doors. The other one was stuck just below their current floor, indicating that there were floors below the one they were on. On top of the stuck elevator was the corpse of what looked like a guard, decayed by several months, there was a sterile health kit, a level 3 key card, and two batteries that looked like they'd fit in the broken device that Molotov had been collecting parts for, on and around the dead guard.

The voice didn't react to their response.

She looked thoughtful for a bit, "Hmm... I can't say anything comes to mind. You think someone here set her up? I'll have to go back over my notes, this might recontextualize some of their behaviors over the past few days. Although... Her roommate and second, Sandy, Didn't seem to take the news as hard as we thought she might, but it might be nothing, everyone deals with grief in their own way. I'll keep an eye on everyone, and let you know if I see something unusual. You should come back to see me each day so I can 'continue your treatment', that'll also keep you off the guard rotation for as long as you need."

(Bling)

Innu was quiet as she contemplated what Bling had told her, "I... I'd like that. Thank you, you didn't have to do what you did for me, but I appreciate it." She stood up off of the bed, shaking herself off, a bit of her enthusiasm returning as she did so. "Now, I've got another show to put on soon, I should get ready for it."

Didn't sound like he wanted help right now, despite her thinking he sorely needed it. But she couldn't force it on him, so for the time being, she'd just be on her way. She'd be called on, if he changed his mind.

Going back home, she'd have a pretty easy time, though the feeling of the things and being around her, were testing her a bit. It helped a bit when she tried to just actively ignore it, but there were still some way to go for this. Maybe if she tried distracting herself with other thoughts, she'd do better.

She'd get to answer him in a little, just... Give her a half minute.

"...I think I needed that.

The griffon's dealt with. I've passed judgement, and then I had to tell the Consul about it. I'll give you more details, but can we go inside first? I'd prefer to tell all of you at once."

==================================================================

(Molotov)

Oof, grizzly sight there. Not a huge surprise he supposed, seeing how this place certainly looked like something bad had happened, but still. Jeez.

Couldn't have been too long ago either, judging by the looks of the corpse. Now far be it from him to be an expert on these things, but Center Zero had a variety of labs. One dealing with corpses for various experiments, were one of those, and one of the few places he voluntarily didn't want to go near. He practically had to be forced, to go near that pit, the few times he had to go there for various reasons. One of them being his aunt had been married to one of their researchers. She had been punching way below her standards, in his opinion, but whatever. Hadn't been his place to judge her marefriend, on the quirky little thing she had hooked up with.

Anyway, point here, were that he couldn't avoid seeing some corpses, and revolting as it were, he were still curious, when he had to wait. So he learned a few things. No way he'd be able to actually say how long this corpse had been here, but it were deffo less than a half year. And judging by how things looked, he had assumed this place had been abandoned for years. Things must've gone downhill really fast, really suddenly.

"Aight, let's see... Felicia? Go check if the path with the broken box below, still have an open door. If not, try and skitter upwards, and see if there's one anywhere else. We'll need a path to go on, and if we can't get to the control room, we outta try and escape.

I'll fetch some parts from the corpse."

Felicia agreed, and would hook herself to the wall, with the web in her abdomen, before sliding downwards, on a thick line, of synthetic spider webbing. Seriously, best collaboration effort he had ever done, with the biology lab, and it had only cost him a humidifying design.

In the meantime, Molotov would use some magic - and maybe get a little closer, if needed - to grip the card, batteries, and the health kit. He figured it unwise to touch the corpse, so he'd stay as far ranged as he could, as he basically grave robbed the pony. Provided it didn't move, he'd flip it over in time, to see if he could grasp something of note from him. Like, oozing, empty eyes, or a large sword wound. Something indicating something, they had to watch out for.

She shrugged, "She probably didn't even know about it. It was an involuntary reflex after all."

"Even more important then, that I know it now. It's always the subtle things."

The amount of times that the minute things were the thing that ruined a perfectly good scouting mission, were staggering. And one reason why she at least, really hated not having long to do a proper analysis, and behavioral study of Peace. It would've given her more to work with, so she didn't miss things like this.

"I'm not ruling anything out. Might be nothing."

It definitely wasn't, but what would she gain from telling her that she knew for certain, that one had sold her out? A bit of ambiguity, might end up serving her well in the long run.

"Sounds like I need to visit Sandy, and see what her reaction is then. And any information, regarding changing behavior, would be appreciated.

Is there more to this checkup? There is only so long, before they start to question things, or some higher ranked barges in, demanding to see his returning guard. News like this, have a habit of causing irrational, emotional outbursts."

She were just hoping no one would suddenly pronounce their love for Peace. Because that'd be awkward both to experience, as well as explain to Peace herself, when that time came.

Yannit would begin to wrap herself up properly again, to make sure her wounds were covered right, though the medic might well interject. If so, she'd let her correct things, if need be.

(Bling)

"I understand. You go do your prep work, and I'll go send word to a few others. Discretely, of course. Hopefully one of them can come around and introduce you, within the next few days.

Try and keep your chin up, okay? And come to me, if you need to talk, alright? Good luck with your show. I'll hopefully have time to watch it next, but if not, I'll make time as soon as I can."

With that, if there were nothing else, Bling would leave Innu alone for now. At first, to try and look over the schedule, to see when she were on next. Afterwards, a tout through the casino, if there were time. She wanted to see if maybe one of the ones she knew of, were there. Which did include a few changelings. Some who had to put down their own sibling, to save them from either mind death, or because they were injured, and couldn't live on further. Among other reasons.

She didn't often see them here, but she'd look, and make contact if she saw any. Though it depended on the schedule, of course. And if someone wanted to grab hold of her for whatever reason.

Never a dull moment, for Hive Cheshire. Or was this going to be Hive Bling? Jeez, the sound of that... She needed to think of a name eventually, when she went through the process. Though the old theater would keep its name. It were her mothers legacy, and she'd never take that from her.

Arcade was a little surprised by Null's embrace, but hugged her back all the same. "Yeah, I'm sure your family's anxious to hear that you're safe."

He led the way back into the house, heading up to where the other two were posted to let them know that everything was back to normal. Null's father would push past Arcade to to embrace Null whether she wanted it or not. "Try not to worry us like that again."

He'd let her go at that point, "So, what happened? Is there something we should be worried about going forward?"

(Molotov)

Heading down the shaft Felicia would find an opening a short distance above the bottom of the shaft, which seemed to be some sort of storage area, the lights were off, but there was the faint sound of breathing, undoubtedly from a pair of large creatures.

At the top of the shaft, Molotov would be able to retrieve the items without issue, but turning the corpse over would reveal a more sickening sight. While the still air and sterile environment had mostly preserved the exposed side of the guard, flipping the guard revealed a far more advanced stage of decomposition, approaching several years, the stench emerging as soon as he broke the seal.

The smell wafted down the shaft Felicia was in, and the creatures in the room below started to stir.

(Yannit)

Ivory shook her head, "No no, you're free to go. I'll file the appropriate paperwork with Twister so everyone knows you're to be left alone to recover. No doubt you'll have some visitors in the mean time, good luck."

Sure enough, as soon as Yannit left the nurse's office, she was met by a mare matching the description of Sandy Fire, who looked like she'd seen, or was presently looking at, a ghost. Her emotions were a mess, hard to pin anything in particular down, but there was a general air of fear. She seemed frozen in place, her gaze locked on Yannit, as if waiting for her to do something.

(Bling)

Innu smiled and nodded a bit, "I... I'd like that, both of those things. Thank you." With that she'd hurry off back to the stage.

(I won't assign things to Bling, I'll just help make interesting things happen wherever she wants to go. I'm interested in seeing this impromptu grief counseling group put together.)

"Wish that I could..."

It might not be the response her father hoped for, as she hugged the stallion back, but it were an honest one. She didn't want to lie to him, and staying or going, in time, she'd end up worrying them again. There'd always be another fight. Another horrible creature, needing to be dealt with. And as the worst for some reason, tended to be drawn to places with alicorns, this place were bound to see some nasties, in due time.

Void would look on, worry shining out of her eyes, yet the relief at seeing her sister was okay, were winning over. She'd like a hug too, but her dad had priority here, whereas she could wait.

On 2022-02-24 at 7:14 AM, Illiad Easle said:

She'd explain what happened, though she'd gloss over the details on how she and Void, had almost been stabbed to death. He were already worried, and didn't need to know explicit details about that. Nor did they need to know about how the consul had been crying. That were clearly a personal moment for him, and she weren't going to go around and let others know he had a vulnerable moment like that, beyond just saying that Consul Easle, had a rough day when she arrived.

"So... N-No more threats from her? Are you sure?"

"Pretty sure. The judgement should keep her fro getting help too, leaving her to deal with a long, miserable life, of having to help others for a change. Something tells me she'll die of natural causes before that ever happens.

How did things go here? Is mom okay?"

==================================================================

(Molotov)

Awh gross. That right there? That was revolting. Sweet Ce- Gods above, he was happy he weren't in melee range of that. Though even up here, the rancid smell was hard to be rid of. This was probably the worst thing he ever smelled. And the sight weren't helping either. Skeletons and newly dead, he could deal with. But advanced rotting? No sire, not for him. The weirdos of various corpse farms, could keep that to themselves.

Felicia couldn't smell this, thankfully. Her sensors could pick up smells, but she had the luxury of filtering out rancid stuff like this, and as it were all but data to her, didn't have a physical response to it. However, she could not say the same of whatever lured in the room, that she had stopped at to look into. Though she could not see what were there, it sounded large, and in multiples. Likely two.

She could run a scan, to get a sense of what were there, but it seemed unwise to try something, which might register with two slumbering, large life forms. Her scans normally didn't cause issue, but then again, she were not usually dealing with the things they had in this place. There were no telling what they might notice.

The plan were just about to slowly climb up again, to not cause a disturbance. That were, until the smell of decay wafted in, and stirred the beasts themselves. Once again, Molotov's curiosity, were about to land them in hot water.

So she'd crawl up on her webbing again, with all due haste, and then run a scan towards the shaft going upwards, to see if there were a route they could go there. If not, they'd be stuck in a really bad position. Or had to go into the other shaft, and just hope there were a route there, but they likely both lead the same place.

If case there were a path up here, and an exit, she'd call out for Molotov to follow as she passed the point where she had anchored her webbing. At which point, she had to traverse by hammering her legs into the walls, to gain some footing. If she could not do that, there'd end up being only way here, weren't there? The one with the corpse. Though in that case, might be better to fall back, until the things that gout roused by the smell, had descended upon it, and then rush through where they had been before.

Molotov could fly. He'd be able to follow without issue.

===============================================================

(Yannit)

Ah, so here they went. Another possible low suspicion mare, yet this one with a myriad of more interesting emotions. So many fleeting ones, jumbling together, around the core of fear. Now what might a mare like this, have to be afraid of, hmm? What would make her think she were gazing at a ghost? It could be a lot of things, such as grief. It could also be the tumultuous ride, of guilt and fear, that she'd be called out, for being the traitor who let her supposed friend, be kidnapped, and sentenced to be tortured to death. A few other things too, but she'd need time to get through this. Sift through the emotions, and get a proper read on this mare. She'd also need more time to see if this were just an unjust judgement, on her part. If she played her hoof too early, without more proof than an unstable emotional state, she might end up compromising the entire mission.

So for now, she'd work from the assumption, that were she peace, she'd still think Sandy a trusted ally, and would be glad seeing her. So she'd send the mare a weak, tired smile.

"Hi."

She wasn't entirely sure how these two would normally do with one another, but she'd try a friendly approach, and see what happened. Depending on the result though, she may have a prime suspect here. So far, she seemed the one who had the most guilty reaction at least, to seeing Peace around here again.

The next part, would be to turn the weak smile, into a look of concern, as she'd keep her gaze on Sandy. As she were trusted by Peace, Yannit needed to pretend she cared some of how Sandy were doing, and currently, she did not look well.

"Are you okay, Sandy? You're looking a little pale."

========================================================================

(Bling)

Seemed like everything were in order, as she took a round in the casino. In fact, it were going swimmingly. She honestly had expected a fair bit of hiccups the first few weeks, but it seemed there were something good in keeping the majority of the old staff around. They knew how things should work, and as such, would stumble less, and could help the newcomers to do well too. Something which would likely stop if she started doing something dumb like cutting salaries, or firing experienced ones, to gain rookies in for cheaper, but she had no reason to go down the short term profit path. She didn't much care for just shoveling in cash, to make herself rich. She were perfectly fine having this place run, have the salaries paid, save up, pay taxes, etc. And then using most of what she then had set aside as her pay, and spending it where it mattered.

Bling hadn't the faintest interest in the golden, pampered lifestyle of many other rich ones, she'd run into in her life. Honestly, it always seemed like a waste to her. Just imagine what the resources spent, on gold plating an entire bathroom, or getting expensive carriages, could be used for elsewhere. In her case, ensuring the Cheshire Theater got on better, and working on paying off what old debts they did have.

And speaking of the theater: If things were safe here, that meant she could go home for a visit. That'd be great.

Directing Bruce along - as if he wouldn't have followed her regardless - they'd transform into some common-looking ponies, and wander through the streets, aiming for the old theater.

Wasn't much in the way of a security detail, but it wasn't as if she really had enemies. And she did oblige to some security, like transforming now. Other changelings could tell, the majority of the time, but others around her, less so. She'd prefer to just go regular, but Bruce, and her siblings, had been insistent that until they knew for sure there were no one out to get her, after she rose up through society, she should be safe. Doubly so, due to the plans of ascension. It wouldn't be good, if she ended up getting herself killed, when they had a new queen on the horizon.

She could also feel though, there were others than Bruce, keeping an eye on her. Some of the changelings she'd known and helped for a while, looking as she went along. Some perhaps, with nicer eyes than others. Sadly no one had only fans, and no one who felt at least a little sour towards them. She were no exception, though she'd like to think the number of those miffed were low, and not to a large extend.

In any case, time to go towards home. Maybe take a stroll through the market too, and see if something exciting were going on there today? Couldn't hurt.

He nodded again, "Slept right through it, those foals aren't even here yet and they're already tiring her out." He chuckled, "But in all seriousness, she's fine. She had the three of us to protect her while you were out, well, also protecting her. Speaking of the foals though," he turned to Void, "I do believe I owe you a look at the nursery. You two are welcome to come too if you want. Maybe take some notes?" He chuckled again as he turned to lead the way up the stairs to a room adjacent to the one their mother was sleeping in. It was sparsely decorated, but clean, and despite the late hour the room still felt warm and bright, welcoming. There was a large crib against the wall the room shared with the master bedroom, likely so that they'd easily be able to hear if the foals were fussing from their bed. "Now, we don't know how well the foals will get along, so we got this crib built for twins." he pressed a lever, and a separator popped up from the mattress to divide the crib in half, "In case they don't get along, they can have their space." He lifted the lever and the divider dropped back down, disappearing from sight. "But if they're anything like their sisters, that shouldn't be necessary, at least... not all the time."

He brought their attention over to a corner that had a few boxes not fully unpacked that had a few toys and such for foals, a few of the items seemed very familiar to the sisters, some things they had had back in the facility they grew up in. If one of them commented on them, their dad would look surprised, "Oh? So that's where they came from! We found them in some of our old stuff after we get kicked out of Deep Science, we couldn't remember where they had come from since, you know, and we figured they much have been something from our own foalhoods that we had forgotten about."

(Molotov)

(I probably forgot to mention, but they have a door to the south that they can go through. They came from the North.)

The scent of decay, and the sound of Felicia's climbing back up the shaft, was accompanied by the sound of a pony, a stallion probably, calling out: "Is someone there? Hello?" If Felicia did decide to scan the floor the creatures were on, she'd only see two large diamond dog-esque creatures sitting among the crates and sealed containers. There was no sign of any stallion, or where the sound had come from. But it was clearly organic, not some recording or broadcast.

One of the creatures would start to wander about the lower area. It did not seem capable of climbing the shaft, so they likely didn't have to worry about them if they stayed out of their level.

If they decided to head South, they'd be met with a hallway with a strange sort of gate that hummed with electricity standing in the middle. A faded warning sign called it a Tesla Gate.

(Yannit)

Sandy shuddered as if struck when Yannit spoke, a bit of regret edging in to her miasma of fear and other emotions. She shook her head though, "I... I'm fine. I just... I thought I'd never see you again. I... I should have gone with you on that patrol. I'm sorry." She looked down and away to not make eye contact with Yannit.

All things considered, the casino was starting to do very well financially. It had been a slow start of course, but the citizens were quickly starting to trust that the new management was no worse than the old one. Many of them happily indicating that they liked the new management more. The acts that Bling had brought in added a new element to the casino, as the theater had previously sat mostly unused. So she had a good portion of money to put forward on her own projects, while still having enough to build up the casino's stockpile and continue necessary repair projects.

Now that they Grey were taking a more hidden approach, and the Trojan Guards were on patrol and doing well to maintain the peace, a larger number of citizens were marketing their wares outside of shops, at least along the roads leading to and from the central plaza. The wares were mostly simple consumable goods, like food and protective clothing, things that didn't cost too much to make, and as such were less appealing to all but the most desperate of thieves. There was one stall though, that stood out from the others. It stood a meter or so back from the others, standing in the shade of an alleyway, manned by a bored looking unicorn wearing a moth-eaten cloak. A large-ish moth sat on top of her head, resting against her horn, wearing a small helmet. The stall table had a number of other tiny helmets just like the one the moth was wearing.

"Joy's sadly not that hard, to turn to pain."

All it took for him, were the absence, of those whom he loved the most. Hard not to understand why that would make what should be a joyous day, turn sour. In his shoes, she'd probably be bitter, or sad as he were.

On 2022-02-27 at 8:18 AM, Illiad Easle said:

You two are welcome to come too if you want. Maybe take some notes?"

Null would follow, though his words made her silent, and face redden up. She adored her father, let it never be said otherwise, but she did not like him teasing her about this sort of thing. She had a hard enough time as it were, to not think about these sorts of things. Which were nice and everything, but it made it hard to think about other, more pressing matters, such as if she were to continue the path of Vengeance, or not. Which were pretty important to get sorted, before she thought about marriage, and having foals. And she just started dating Arcade! Such things were probably not going to happen anytime soon.

...Though she had a lingering fear, that the second she gazed upon her newborn, younger siblings, her ovaries were going to kick her maternal instinct up to twelve. And the nursery were not going to help. Though still, she couldn't make herself say no to seeing it.

On 2022-02-27 at 8:18 AM, Illiad Easle said:

Oh gods, she could already feel it. And this was just from watching the nursery. Watching the various things set up awakened some things in her, that she would have a hard time to describe, though she could certainly think of what they were. Especially, as the crib made her put some mental images up briefly, of small, dark foals, with silvery manes, and crooked horns, peacefully slumbering side by side.

"It looks very lovely, dad. And the crib being able to split, is a great idea. You never know how things turns out, though I hope they'll be close. Family shouldn't despise one another. I don't think they'll be as close as Null and I though. i mean, we had some pretty bad things happen, that forced us to stick together. I hope their circumstances will be a whole lot more healthy, and they'll live good lives, close with one another. Just you know, able to each live their own lives too. Don't you too, big sis?"

"Huh? O-Oh. Uh, yeah, sure."

She had been caught in thoughts, and taken a little off her balance, so she hadn't been focusing a lot on what Void said. Her sister would've been worried about that, but as they moved on to look at various toys, her - and Null's - thoughts would be focused more on what they saw there.

On 2022-02-27 at 8:18 AM, Illiad Easle said:

"...No. Way."

Null would pick out an old rubber ring. A modified chewing ring for infants, that would make various noises, based on where it were pushed on, or bitten on. It would heavily represent just a regular leg ring for a pony, as it had been one of the tools they used to acclimate her, to seek out objects they wanted her to interact with, and see how her curse affected them. Most of said objects hadn't made it through the years, but this had been her favorite, and you could even see the spot where her favored chewing spot were, as there were faint teeth marks there, in a spot that'd give off a melodious chime. She had always liked that little bell chime, even if it drove some researchers crazy to listen to it. One reason why they had replaced her toys eventually, with things that didn't make a lot of noise, but she had been less attached to those. Even as she got older, she tended to get back to this, and carefully gnaw on that very spot, to give off that sound she so liked. It made her happy, until the day it had gone missing. Or as the case were, had been put away/confiscated.

Void on the other hoof, would pick out a floppy, large rabbit doll. One that had clearly seen better times. Colors were a faded grey, multiple stitches- The whole shebang. But it were clearly well loved too. Damage tended to happen then.

"Wabby? I thought this got lost after..."

Void weren't able to say Rabbit well, when she had gotten this oversized, stuffed animal. Bigger than she had been at the time, but she loved it, and took it with her up until the day they had to go. She hadn't the time to find it, as they hurried along, and had to go with another spare, that she usually used, when this one had to be washed.

Null were fighting the urge to gnaw on the ring, and put it back where she had found it. Somewhat reluctantly, but she were too old for that sort of thing now.

"They were good things to have, in a more innocent time. Something we treasured.

Can't think of a better thing to pass on to the little new ones. A little sliver of a better time."

The innocence of that age, were long gone now. They were no longer foals, and they couldn't feign ignorance and bliss anymore, about their past. These things were loved, and bore memories of better, simpler times. Times where they didn't have all the pain to remember, that they'd gone through, and they were just regular foals. At least as regular as they could be, considering their affliction.

Seemed the right thing to pass on, to two foals she wished would never get anything, resembling the life her and Void had gotten, after the accident. A hope that they had the life, that the two of them lost, as they left everything behind.

Minus the experiments, of course. And the curses. Those life could shove hard.

Felicia had halted some, to do a quick scan, as she heard the voice. Yet she hadn't been able to find anyone. Yet the voice had sounded real. had to have some origin, and it surely wasn't the creatures trapped in the lower decks. The forms did not fit what from the sound, appeared to be a male stallion.

Question then, were if this were a ruse. Were it possible, for one to have survived here, for upwards of 6 months? Which she would assume were the topmost cutoff, of whatever had happened here.

Calculating it, she did not expect a crew of survivors, but... One or two, with sufficient food and water storages, normally meant for hundreds of beings, in a secure location... Considering the seeming size of this place, it could theoretically be possible. She would have to inform Molotov of this development.

Which she did just as she came up, and encouraged him to seek higher ground. Though it appeared that whatever were below, were trapped down there, so there were not as much haste, as one might have thought.

"Possible survivor, eh? Bugger... And here I thought it might be simple.

Okay, it could be a trick, but I agree with your calculations. But you have no directions to go with, and we're surely not going down to whatever stirred back down there. We also don't know where a possible storage room for survivors, might even be. We'd just get lost, trying to find whomever it were. Though still... We can try something, but be ready to run off, aight? In case those things aren't keen on staying down."

This were gonna be the dumbest thing he had done the last... Four minutes, but here went nothing.

He'd go to the shaft, and tentatively raise a hoof to his mouth, wings spread, and ready to bugger off towards whatever were down south.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

(Yannit)

Hmmm... Regret, fear, unwillingness to keep eye contact... Definitely a prime suspect, though it might be a coping thing. If she blamed herself, for not being there when Peace were taken, it could well have the same results. She needed time, but this one were certainly suspicious.

Now however, weren't the time to throw accusations. Not yet at least. For now, Yannit had to try and be a friend, to one whom Peace thought of, as a friend.

"If you'd been there, there'd probably just be two of us caught. And I think they only wanted one. It was... I don't want to talk about it. But least I'm alive. Though I hope whoever got me out, killed some of them. bastards deserve no better."

There. A bit of bitterness, some pained streaks, of memories of horrible things done to her, that she would not speak of. A few minor touches, that would hopefully sell this better. It seemed correct, from what she had gathered. Peace wouldn't be cheery, and full of spunk, after potentially being... Well, she'd rather not think of it either. Gangs were some nasty things, and she hoped that if she were even halfway right, in some of the things she thought had happened, that Peace would get some therapy. Plenty a mare had been broken, by far less.

To think that everything had gone this well... Seems like years of building trust, and staying level, with the community she had helped throughout the years, had paid off. She had seemingly been given some general leeway, and proven that she wasn't gonna be a snooty bugger about things, and was expanding on for example, the theater. A criminally underused thing, she might say, but they had so rarely had the chance to ever offer to put on a performance there. Hive Cheshire were down to her, and her two siblings. And they had to work most of their waking hours, caring for the downtrodden. There just hadn't been much time.

It was so good to know, that crowds were drawn to this place once more. And when one day, she had her own clutch, she hooped they'd inherit the flair for theater too, and she could teach at least some of them, the joys and wonders of performance.

*sigh* She did not look forward to the whole... Process, of having the clutch, but she did look forward to seeing them hatch. As would many changelings in town, she knew. The emergence of new life, would be the hope for the future, that their kind sorely needed.

She was Not gonna have Upbeat *contribute* to the eggs though, despite him being an ideal pick in theory. He was her brother, and just... Ew. No. Hard pass on that.

Also, inbred changelings had the chance to be uhm... Well, anyway. Moving along.

There was no way, that Bling wasn't drawn in by the moth pet, with a tiny, adorable hat. How couldn't she? It was so adorable! Though she had no idea what this were. A pet dealer? Pet clothes? Whatever, or whomever this were, they seemed to not have a lot to do. Might be a slow say, or an unpopular business? Well then,. couldn't hurt having a look, and potentially pushing some life into an entrepreneur.

Or in case it was a trap, have Bruce - currently looking like a bored, teenager - bashing this guy into the ground, and expose a felon. Hmm, or perhaps a low rung thief, just trying to make it... She wasn't averse to giving folks like that a chance. Guess they didn't know, before she took contact.

After that, she'd try to pick up a little something for the top brass, back at the theater. They worked so hard, so the least she could do, was bring them some refreshments when she came along. Beyond all the other stuff she sent too, of course.

"Awh, your little friend is adorable. Haven't even seen pictures of big moths in ages.

Could I ask what you're selling, miss? I might be interested."

If she were selling pet moths, with hats, she were not gonna leave empty hoofed. The others could judge her all they wanted, she would still jump at it in a heartbeat.

"Joy's sadly not that hard, to turn to pain."

Their father nodded, "Though, in a way, it's a testament to how much he cares. It wouldn't hurt so much if the love weren't so pure."

"It looks very lovely, dad. And the crib being able to split, is a great idea. You never know how things turns out, though I hope they'll be close. Family shouldn't despise one another.

He chuckled, "Even the closest of siblings need their time apart, but I hope it won't often be necessary either."

"They were good things to have, in a more innocent time. Something we treasured.

Can't think of a better thing to pass on to the little new ones. A little sliver of a better time."

He looked touched, "I'm glad. I hope you two don't mind that we planned to pass these on to the foals? There aren't many toymakers around, given how few young ponies remain, so it would be difficult to get others." With that he yawned, "Well, we've all been up too long I think. Best if we al got some sleep. The guest room is already set up if you want to just sleep here? I'm sure your mother would appreciate the surprise of your being here for breakfast."

(Molotov)

It was quiet for a bit after Molotov called out, before a voice called back, apparently having gotten closer to the open elevator shaft, "What was that?"

One of the creatures stuck their nose out into the shaft, sniffing about, before extending their head all the way out and turning it upward, it didn't appear to have any eyes, "Hello? Is anyone there?"  It called back in Molotov's own voice.

It didn't seem interested, or potentially was incapable, of climbing up the shaft after them. But whatever this creature was had an incredible capacity for mimicry.

Over the intercom, "What are you doing? Don't you think it's best to let sleeping dogs lie?"

(Yannit)

Sandy nodded, "You... you're right. You... you probably want to rest, right? I... I might have taken over your part of the room. But it shouldn't take long to put everything back! I... I'll help put everything just the way it was."

She'd hurry off in the direction of the rooms, holding the door open for Yannit to enter. True enough it seemed most of Peace's stuff had been pushed off to a corner, stacked up on a bedframe, while Sandy's bed now had two mattresses.

As they were in the room, someone passed by outside, a flash of anger came off them, but they had passed by the door too quickly for Yannit to see who it was.

The moth looked rather pleased with itself at Bling's praise, the mare though simply sighed and rolled her eyes as the moth started thumping against her horn, "You had to go and get his started. Yes, yes, calm down already, I'll tell her."

She sighed and turned her attention to Bling, "Downbee, that's the moth's name, thanks you for the compliment. He's selling Moth Helms, like the one he's wearing. It made him able to hear and understand normal speech, but all he ever wants to talk about is the Moth Helm. Unfortunately, you'll need to supply the moth yourself. Downbee can't seem to get a female to stich around long enough to make more moths, I can't imagine why."

The moth, Downbee, thumped harder than usual against her horn, which made her eye twitch, but she continued, "So, would you be interested in buying a Moth Helm?"

If Bling or her guard were watching closely enough they'd see that the moth was using Horse code to talk to the mare, thumping out the dots and dashes against her horn.
