FlareGun45 2,221 October 29, 2019 Share October 29, 2019 Look at the cage containing the Mane 5 and Spike in Twilight's Kingdom. The Mane 5 clearly lost their magic cause look at their eyes. But Spike.... his eyes are fine! Maybe centaurs can't drain the magic off of dragons, which gives the dragons an advantage over centaurs? It's like a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors - everyone has a weakness, and everyone has more strength than something else! There was a magical flash when Spike got his wings but I don't know if magic is actually required for dragon flight, but he doesn't have that here anyways so nothing to steal in that regard. With that tired joke out of the way, there's a very simple implied explanation as to why Tirek can only drain magic from ponies. Other creatures like dragons simply don't harbor magic in their bodies. It's like how other creatures like dragons and griffons can't have cutie marks.
