Splashee 28,578 July 2, 2020 Share July 2, 2020 By now, we know and understand what cutie marks do to ponies. Once they have gotten their symbol on their flank, they are written out of the show (if they didn't have one previously), they use that talent for the rest of their lives, but most likely, they are very happy about finding out who they are. We got to follow 3 fillies through a journey, and got to know each one of them individually. So what happened to each one of them? And did they get what they deserved? Taking into account that even the Mane 6 couldn't stay together forever, as Twilight had to departure back to Canterlot. No group of ponies, three or more can just stay together forever, can they? If you were to divide the CMC, just for a year, or maybe even less. What would their individual talents be? Applebloom was good at building things and possibly an alchemist? (Cutie Mark: Apple with heart symbol inside) Sweetie Belle was good at singing? (Cutie Mark: Star with a note symbol inside) Scootaloo was good at scooter daredevil and dancing? (Cutie Mark: Wing with a lightning bolt symbol) Are you happy with what they achieved while they were "talent-less"? Are you happy with what they achieved when they finally got their talents? Are you happy where they ended up as grown-ups?
Jedishy 3,549 July 2, 2020 Share July 2, 2020 Their overriding talent is to help others gain their cutie marks and solve cutie mark related issues. ( like they do for Bulky ) So I think it's perfect where they end up as a group and as as adult. I believe their individual talents are shown during twilight time and during the talent show episodes. As individuals we see great growth. Also I gotta disagree that they inevitably must separate. Its entirely possible they are CMC for life. 2 May the Friendship be with you. There must be at least a few hours a day, and while sleeping at night, where they are not together as a team. But that is very short term. I still think they are bonded by their cutie marks in a weird way, that is kinda restrictive. Eventually if they are not sticking together, it is almost like they would fall back to being blank flanks again.
ExplosionMare 18,103 July 2, 2020 Share July 2, 2020 My perspective on the inner talent thing is that in order to help others with their talents, the CMC have to have a bit of their own talents to prove their help useful. If each Crusader has their own gift to bring to the table, then they could have extra insight on certain things. As we’ve seen throughout the episodes, a problem one Crusader can’t solve if often solved by another. I also think that they have their own individual symbols within their Cutie Marks to give them a chance to do something outside of Crusading. They’ll be able to open up a bigger and better workshop once they’re older, but if they ever had to start someplace in the part time workforce they would have options. Ex. Apple Bloom could apprentice to a carpenter or assist Zecora with potions 1 Boom!
SharpWit 2,775 July 2, 2020 Share July 2, 2020 Still need to finish the show, but before it ended, I always saw them opening up some sort of a scouts program for cutiemarks as adults and maybe making use of the apple farm as the camp grounds for that. I like what they did with Trouble Shoes in helping him realize what his talent actually was as a concept at least, but more so, I like what was done in a non CMC episode, where Zephyr Breeze isn't so defined by a talent but instead has a cutiemark more representative for his way of living, which is far more relatable for our older audience. The CMC falls within the more general meaning behind cutiemarks, in that they've clearly demonstrated talents, but they had to look past their mission to obtain theirs. There's a sort of destiny to them, but it has to be realized before it's visibly presented, because what you do doesn't define who you are, it's the why.

In short nopony messes with anothers special gift. 1 hour ago, Splashee said: They are individuals after all. They don't even live together. Or even always working together. 1 hour ago, Splashee said: But that is very short term. I still think they are bonded by their cutie marks in a weird way, that is kinda restrictive. Ponies often have the same gifts or very similar ones. A short list Twilight/Starlight Pinkie/ Cheese Sandwhich Rarity/ Coco Pommel Further they all have individual talents that enhance their over all talent in different ways. So they are not bonded any any way that is different from any other set of friends that have a gift that is made better when they combine their talents. 1 May the Friendship be with you. They didn't learn the true meaning from Scootaloo, or the CMC, but the entire Equestrian population, which made them back off and move away without her. True parenting right there. Better not mess with everypony. They don't seem to handle cutie marks well solo though, according to multiple episodes, they are thinking completely different while being individual. I thought The Last Problem showed all three of them as teachers at the School of Friendship. More generally, I think show developed them quite thoroughly, and there's not very much left to speculate on. They're probably still involved in some sort of cutie mark camp, even if they don't have time to personally run it any more. The individual talents and interests we know they have are probably still hobbies that they do when they're not all hanging out or working together. Presumably whatever cutie mark problem solving they do (whether it's as teachers, or camp runners, or what) they still do as a trio since, as you said, they're far better at that when working together.
