So i just found out my best friend is leaving and going to Scotland. I've known him for way to long and i have never gone a week without talking to him. I understand this may sound stupid but can someone try cheer me up?

Thanks in advance

I am the son of Chilly mists. At Christmas he got me a cucumber slip 'n' slide.

Well I'm not exactly the best at cheering people up...

However, you both have access to the internet, correct?

Bam! Now you can always talk to each other. Just get Skype and you can chat face-to-face, like he never even left.

Try to think forward. As Chigens said talk on skype keep in touch with him and remember that you always can meet new people if it doesn't work out.

Also try to think that it's not the worst think that could happen. Take me for example. One of my closest friends that I knew my whole life died in cancer 4 years ago when i was 12 years old.

Atleast you can still keep in touch with him and thats a great thing :)

I could recover and so can you :D

Picture him wearing a kilt and getting totally hammered while saying "ach, I know yeh ar sad, laddy, but life goes oon, ya ken." in a really thick highland accent, with bagpipes playing in the background.

If that doesn't cheer you up, your sense of humor is broken.

I already pictured bagpipes in the background.

You would be more than glad to cheer your 'up'. But do tell me, who is this up fellow?

JK.

You got Skype? If you do, you can still talk to him. Don't got Skype? Get it now and add him before he leaves.

  • 8 years later...

Gotta echo all of the "talk online" posts.

Not exactly the same situation, but ever since I moved to the UK I've been Skype-ing my parents once a week, and we're actually closer now than when I was in college or maybe even high school. At this point my parents are the ones complaining about how their peers will go "my kids won't talk to me" and then never set up voice chat.
