This wallpaper took me an epic amount of time to complete (about 4.5 hours). 29 layers later, this is the final result. Must say I'm quite happy with it.

I went ahead to check out the original vector and I must say, you've really breathed life into it! It looks great for a wallpaper, very stylish and sleek. I really enjoy the glow effects from the shading of orange, I also have noticed the Oblivion font pack used for the runic symbols at the bottom. Her eyes also prove to be effective focal points, it's amazing!

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback, NC. This is definitely the most time I've ever spent on a wallpaper before (and the most layers I've ever used). I scrutinized so hard over every detail and this comment definitely helped gratify all the work put into it.

I'm not familiar with most of the background ponies but this is defiantly something special and unique. I wouldn't say any of the effects are overdone as their the only main elements in the picture. The glow on her face from the fire is fine but I think there should be a little more glow on her hooves mainly the base of them from the fire and a little glow from the wisps around her body and arms. That would have required more work though and you already put a lot of time into this already.

I agree. I wanted to do more with the lighting around the things you mentioned, but I was fried by then and couldn't really think of how to go about it.

Lol, when I was showing it to a couple people before uploading, they thought it was Spitfire as well.
