But if you believe that every religion..well, is true, than that means you bear false witness to your own religion. It just really make sense to me. Objection! Hold it! Take that! Gotcha! Eureka! Feather Spiral 1,892 July 1, 2012 Share July 1, 2012 (edited) Uh, no, not necessarily. Religions don't say "the things told in these texts are 100% true, and anyone who disagrees is wrong". It's people who say that, people who miss the point of religion: to educate with the help of fictional stories - and to teach historical/scientific facts (at least scientific by the standards of the time and place in which they were written) as well. I don't know any religion that initially was as categorical as today's extremisms. Some sacred texts might incite believers to convert others, but to still consider them as their brethren (as far as I know). It is later that manipulative humans, which are very much mortal and have ambitions, corrupted religion to their own purposes and imposed their own view of religious texts. Otherwise, you can choose to believe in a certain religion, and still think they (yours and others) are all correct to a certain extent. Guy: I hate my life!
