How you became a fan of My Little Pony

I just joined the website. I'm using a temporary email for now, but I'm not a spammer.

Anyway, I've been a fan of the My Little Pony franchise since about 1986, or whenever the first cartoon came out. After a while, my siblings wouldn't let me watch it anymore (they hogged the remote and complained when I had and tried to watch it); so, I just waited a few decades and then watched it on Tubi (but I started buying/watching Friendship Is Magic on Prime Video first--and I've since seen all the MLP stuff that is available for digital purchase, including the Equestria Girls stuff and both seasons of Pony Life; also, My Little Pony Tales, which isn't available for purchase, unfortunately). I bought the original after I watched it on Tubi.

I'm not really into the fandom (like making MLP art, fan fiction, shipping, cosplays, roleplays, etc.), but I like the shows (and talking about them), and I like forums.

I watch a lot of other cartoons and kid's shows, too. Here are some of them:

* Sofia the First

* Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures (and the rest of the Strawberry Shortcake franchise)

* Lalaloopsy (Nickelodeon's)

* Kuu Kuu Harajuku

* Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-lot (and the rest of the Care Bears franchise)

* Elinor Wonders Why

* Stella and Sam

* Doc McStuffins

* The ZhuZhus

* Goldie & Bear

* Abby Hatcher

* Just Add Magic

* Sigmund and the Seamonsters (the new-ish one Amazon made)

* Tangled the series

* Elena of Avalor

* Butterbean's Cafe

* Fancy Nancy

* Doug

* Wishenpoof

* The Big Comfy Couch

* Shimmer and Shine

* Sunny Day

* Wendy

* Horseland

* Puppy in My Pocket

* Lassie (the animated one; it's actually really good, but you need a Paramount+ subscription to watch it on Amazon)

* Ever After High

* Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures

* True and the Rainbow Kingdom

* Enchantimals

* Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

* I Am Frankie

* The Bureau of Magical Things

* The Thundermans

* Insectibles

* Wild Kratts

* Annedroids

* Dino Dana

* Stuff like that

I chose Pinky Pie as my favorite Mane 6 pony for a number of reasons:

* She's fun

* She's pink (it's an underappreciated color in modern times, and I like it)

* People underestimate her just because they think she's silly or whatever (I can relate to that)

* She has hidden powers that no one else seems to understand (maybe because of what happened in that one comic issue with Discord where she took over his realm/powers; I haven't read any of the comics; I just read about that issue)

* I like her hair

* She's happy and optimistic (and care-free, so even if thing don't turn out, she still has a good time with it)

* She's entertaining

* She has arcane knowledge about things like parasprites, and we don't even know how she knows

* She loves her sister

My next favorite mane 6 are probably these, in this order (but they're all great):

* Twilight Sparkle

* Fluttershy (in FIM--not Pony LIfe; she's evolved there, and I prefer how she was before, although I still like her in PL)

* Apple Jack and Rarity are tied

* Rainbow Dash

Some other ponies I like a lot include

* Starlight Glimmer

* Sweetie Belle

* The Great and Powerful Trixie

* Zecora (can zebras be ponies?)

* Maud Pie

* Strawberry Sunrise

* Sunset Shimmer (Equestria Girls)

* Twilight (the one from Equestria Girls, and everyone else there, too)

* Princess Cadance

* Tree Hugger

* Apple Bloom

* Yona (yeah, she's a yak--not a pony--but I'm listing her anyway)

Yea, that's sad. I had to buy a DVD from Australia back in the day to get the episodes I needed to complete my collection.

Yeah. I'm hoping some day soon they release it for sale on Prime Video, Vudu, Google TV, and/or YouTube. I know it's on Tubi, but I like to buy it for the security, the ad-free experience, and because I like to collect/support family-friendly digital video.
