G5 episode ideas.

The premise of this thread is simple: Come up with ideas for episodes for the upcoming G5 show.

An episode where Pipp meets an obsessed Pippsqueak.
It could be a commentary on celebrity worship and Stan culture.

Sunny has to figure out how to use her fledgling magic to save a space station with a decaying orbit, before it burns up in the atmosphere killing all ponies onboard!

(I LOVE that they have a high order of technology now!)

friends and she has to learn to step away from her devices and focus on other hobbies.

I thought of almost an entire season's worth of episodes before and posted it on tumblr. But some were based on the fake storyboards. Not sure how many of them I still like, but I'll copy and paste them all here anyway. I've got more though-out plots for most of them, but it would take too long to write them all out lol.

 

I've put my premises in the spoiler so my post won't take up too much of the forum page:

1. Triple Switcheroo
Sunny, Izzy, and Pipp all decide to try living one day in each other’s homes–Pipp in Bridlewood, Sunny in Zephyr Heights, and Izzy in Maretime Bay. At first they struggle to fit in, but they each discover something special that teaches them more about their friends.

2. Unikinship
The ponies are sad to hear that Izzy doesn’t remember ever having a family, and was simply kept an eye on by the residents of Bridlewood since she was a small filly. The Mane 5 take a trip to Bridlewood and make it their goal to find Izzy’s missing family.

3. Sunny’s Substitute
Using her smarts and resources from the reformed CanterLogic Factory, Zipp builds Sunny a surprise gift: a special delivery robot so Sunny won’t have to deliver the smoothies anymore! However, Sunny soon realizes that she misses being relied on and seeing everypony’s smiling faces. How can she get rid of the delivery bot without hurting Zipp’s feelings?

4. Stallion-Do-Well
Bored of his uneventful life as sheriff, Hitch wishes he could have an exciting vigilante identity like in his favorite comic books. Luckily for him, things start mysteriously disappearing from Maretime Bay and it is up to Hitch to put things right. He takes on a night-time alter ego, “Stallion-Do-Well”, and enlists Sprout as his sidekick to catch the thief!

5. Royal Bond
When the ponies can’t help but to notice that Pipp and Zipp don’t get along very well, they get them to try all kinds of bonding activities to bring them closer. However, each activity seems to put more strain on their relationship than the last… until Zipp needs to save Pipp from imminent danger.

6. Hoof and Claw
Hitch finds a stray kitten in the rain and is at first determined to reunite it with its owner. The ponies are all enamored by the kitten and help Hitch nurse it back to full health while he searches for the owner, but he begins to get attached…

7. Benefit of the Sprout
Wanting to apologize to Sunny but too stubborn to say it, Sprout tries to make it up to her in other ways. However, all of his attempts to do something nice for her go wrong, and she starts believing he hates her more than ever!

8. Pipp Perfect
While Pipp’s phone is out for repairs, the friends ask her what hobbies she has besides singing, dancing, and social media… and she realizes she has none! Pipp tries a bunch of new activities to find out what else she’s good at, with much failure. Her confidence is shattered when she believes she’s not such a talented pony after all.

9. Hitch-out-of-water
Now that Sunny has a ton of friends, Hitch notices she is starting to spend much less time alone with him and worries that she doesn’t need him anymore. (I have multiple ideas in mind for how this could go, not sure which one would be best).

10. Super Izzy Odyssey
Izzy is making special friendship bracelets for her friends, using an extremely rare gem. When she realizes she doesn’t have enough gems to finish one last bracelet, she doesn’t want any of the ponies to get jealous. So, she goes on a dangerous quest to find more of the rare gems!

11. Under the Feather
Zipp always thought she would be one of the best fliers, but when she tries to recruit a team of WonderBolts just like in the legends, she finds talented pegasi who make her look like a fraud by comparison. She feels as if she isn’t good enough to even be a part of the team she started.

12. Heart and Style
Pipp is going to a fashion event, but being so famous on social media, she is worried that she won’t know how to make a good impression in person. So, she invites Hitch along so he can give her advice on how to act like a “normal” pony in front of her fans.

13. Break it Gently
Izzy accidentally breaks one of Sunny’s beloved pony figures made by her dad. Izzy says sorry and Sunny pretends it’s no big deal, but deep inside, she is exploding! However, she doesn’t want to lash out at Izzy, so goes to great lengths to avoid her instead. Izzy is confused on why her best friend is ignoring her…

14. Pony’s Play
Alphabittle got talked into making a bet with a very competitive pony…who will win ownership of the Crystal Tea Room if Alphabittle loses! Knowing he can’t win the bet on his own, Alphabittle asks Izzy, Sunny, and their friends to help him compete against the other pony in a series of challenges.

15. Bringing the Thunder
Zoom Zephyrwing decides to step down from her position in the royal guard and find a new calling in life. Shortly after, Thunder steps down too and insists he had already been planning to. Sure. When Zoom notices Thunder following her in all her endeavors, she has to find a way to remind him to follow his own path despite how much he wants to be around her.

16. In Disguise of the Law
Hitch has been needing a new deputy ever since Sprout got stripped of his rank, so he hosts a kind of competition with missions to determine the best new deputy. Much to his annoyance, Sprout keeps sneakily entering each mission in a new disguise every time–and somehow always ends up winning!

17. The Foal-Sitters Club
Sunny decides to take up foal-sitting and her friends want to join in too. Caught in the excitement, they get scheduled for various foal-sitting jobs, but by the time comes, it turns out the other ponies are way too busy with other plans! So, Sunny has to do a whole bunch of foal-sitting all by herself!

18. Magic Moments
Apparently unicorns used to do more than just levitate things! Against their better judgment, Sunny lets Izzy try ancient magical spells collected by Argyle. Oops! Izzy makes Sunny’s house disappear! She tries to undo it… but actually, each attempted spell creates more and more problems, and the earth ponies start to worry that unicorns are trouble after all…

19. It’s Been a Pizza Slice
Sprout has learned his lesson, he’ll never be overly ambitious again. That is, until, he becomes unhappy with being bossed around at the pizza parlor he works at. Wishing he could be the boss instead, he conducts a plan to get himself to rise in the ranks! A plan that involves getting ponies to spread good word about him by bribing them with free pizza…

20. The Pegasus Switch
When Pipp gets injured shortly before a big performance, she asks Zipp to put on the concert instead. Zipp can’t possibly sing in front of a huge crowd, but she doesn’t want to let her sister down either! The rest of the Mane 5 try to get Zipp ready for the performance…

21. Take the Rough with the Smoothie
Instead of just delivering smoothies on a cart, Sunny decides to open her own smoothie shop in a building! There’s a lot of work to be done, including setting up the interior and coming up with a bunch of new smoothie flavors. Her friends help her out, but she quickly learns that owning a shop is a lot more stress than she ever imagined, and has to decide whether it’s worth it or not.

22. Cloudpuff Nine
Pipp takes Cloudpuff for a walk, but he flies off while she was distracted by her phone… She has to get him back before Queen Haven wonders where he is, and ends up chasing him all over Equestria! Along the way she encounters many beautiful sights and learns to appreciate the world outside her phone more.

23. Unicorn Pox
When Izzy falls ill with a rare disease that only affects unicorns, Sunny and the others set off to find a cure–which is a fruit thought to be extinct. They soon discover a mysterious land, which turns out to be inhabited by equines they’ve never seen before: zebras! And the zebras may hold the answer to finding the cure for Izzy…

 

 

[Reality Check 632]

I'd be interested if the mane 5 chose to meet the non-ponies in G4, like griffons, changelings, dragons, etc. Heck, maybe a bit of backstory to go along with it as well

An episode where Izzy gets diagnosed with autism/Aspergers.
 
As far back as she can remember, Izzy has always felt different from the other unicorns. A surprising diagnosis from her doctor might explain why.

For the first season finale, I'd introduce another Unicorn (and male character) to the Main 5, turning it in the new Mane 6! Oh I need to talk with MLP writers...
