I struggled to find my favorite Pone too, but what I did was basically thinking: which one of them I would like to be my friend the most, or better, my best friend. I used a simple logic, my mother is my best friend, so my favorite pone would need to be the one who's mostly close to my mother for me, which is Applejack! She's my favorite! 

So I think you could do the same if you really want to wand your favorite pone, use your best friend as example or who you think that could be you best friend

Try finding a character you relate to and like the design

Simple enough, watch MLP and see which pony or ponies capture your mind, heart and imagination. I went through several before I finally settled on Rarity as my favorite. I liked Fluttershy most at first, then Pinkie, but then I saw the episode “Dog and Pony Show” and that was all I ever needed to realize that Rarity was the one true pony for me.

I don't really understand why people feel the need to have a favorite and rank everything.
