open School of gifted children

Teachers from around the campus readied for the new school year. In each of the few classrooms, decorations were being held up, ready sheets were being taken out, and desks were set up. The teachers were frantic to meet their new students, and to start the new school year. Excited of course because with each student meant loads of money, and the more kids they passed, the more money they made. The entire school looked squeaky clean, and Dr.Firenze waited at the front of the school building for the buss full of the first arrivals to come to the gate.

Cosmos folded his wings on his back as he sat on the buss to his new home for the year. The wagon was pulled by four muscular stallions, who were assured by the driver that we would not be seeing them around the school. Cosmos supposed this was to assure the rich kids at the back that the poor and unworthy wouldn't be around. Cosmos did not have a mind to care however, he was too nervous to think about anything really. He was a griffon, and griffons were never accepted by any sort of pony. They had a bad reputation because of the griffon Gilda, who rampaged across Ponyville some time ago. Cosmos just kept his head down, sitting away from the other ponies.

Clockwork sat alone on his seat as he looked around. His glasses slid down slightly and he pushed them up with a hoof. Using his telekineses, he pulled out an antique pocketwatch to check the time, they would arrive any minute. He noticed a griffon sitting alone and he seemed uncomfortable, he knew the feeling. Clockwork was labeled by others as a nerd, mainly because of his glasses, but also because he had a lot of book smarts. He decide to perhaps make the griffon feel more welcome. Sitting beside him, he smiled and said "Good day. You a new student at this school?"

Splinter climbed on the buss while smiling with joy. He got a seat on the buss while shaking excitedly. ''I wonder what Special talents I'm going to learn there.'' Said Splinter as trying to stop shaking. He noticed the griffon and other pony. He waved over to them while smiling. ''I take it your going to the school as well?'' Said Splinter as smiling.

Embers bored and looked around, wanting to see if any of his friends were there but none were so he sat down at the back. He got out his books and started to read. He slowly looked around him and saw the griffin

He looked in his books for the one book he had about griffin and started reading

Cosmos turned his feathered head towards the pony, obviously startled with the greeting. He had just thought no one would talk to him! Cosmos nervously said,

"O-of course.... this is the first year of the school opening...."

Clockwork chuckled "I know, I just like to see if I can trick others by acting as if it's been around longer" he said smiling. "I'm clockwork, what's your name?"

Dr. Yore arrived early as always, lugging a saddlebag full of papers for the first day. He had made sure his room was neatly arranged beforehand, saving him the chore of an early morning cleanup. Yore placed the papers on desks, each already having an owner. Mr. Yore, as much as he tolerated children, love disappointing his students with a seating chart announced at class.

Cosmos slightly chuckled as well, his feathers fluttering in the wind. His beak turned into a small smile and said,

"It's nice to meet a pony who won't judge me for my race... my name is Cosmos."

Splinter began to hum while tapping his hoof against the buss. ''Can't Wait, Can't Wait, Can't Wait!'' Said Splinter as his eyes widened with joy.

Ms. Dazzle was wandering around the hallways of the soon to be crowded school. She saw that Dr.Yore had set up his own room and she stepped inside. She had a small smile on her lips as she said,

"Oh Dr. Yore, I have heard quite a bit about you."

Embers slowly made a paper airplane and tossed it at the griffin, carefully sending it around so the griffin couldn't see what was it had come from

Splinter grew bored and shrugged. ''My Name is Splinter Hood.'' Blurted Splinter on the bus in a awkward tone.

Dr. Yore looked up from his seating chart. "Oh?"

Cosmos felt the paper plane hit him on the back of the head, which sent tears to his eyes. He looked downward at the seat, careful to not let anyone see him.

 

Ms. Dazzle nodded.

"Apparently the only pony they could find who could take the job was yourself."

Clockwork smiled, "Pleasure to meet you Cosmos, and ponies shouldn't judge griffons just because of one that made a bad impression. Everyone, pony and griffon, are all different. I like to get to know others and not make assumptions."

 

He saw the plane hit him and he looked back angrily, "Real mature" he called out. He looked back at Cosmos, "Hey, don't worry about them, they're just overprivelidged snobs" he said to him.

Alexandrite sat on the bus, with a confuzzled look on his face. He was thinking about how Celestia raises the sun, something he usually did when he was bored.

Lockhart sat on the bus, any from the other ponies, listening in on their conversations. He wanted to observe them, to see if any of them would be a threat to him.

"This year is not going to fun..."

Splinter rolled his eyes. ''Am I the only one who talks loudly on this buss?'' Said Splinter as cocking an eyebrow.

Embers slowly folded up another paper air plane and skribbled down a fast note, and let it go into the back of the griffins head

Splinter Noticed Embers throw the paper airplane. ''Dude, Not cool.'' Said Splinter as staring at Embers.

Cosmos felt another air plane hit the back of his head, which sent rage throughout his feathers. Each one stood at end as he took the note, and saw there was writing on it.

Splinter looked at the Griffin with sorrow. ''Are you okay? I think that guy did it.'' Said Splinter as pointing at Embers. ''For first impressions, He sure is a ass.'' Said Splinter as giggling.
