Shoot, there was a chapterbook years ago that told the tale of how Cadence became an alicorn.  It was nothing like the blurb on EquestriaDaily, either...

Either that, or whoever is writing this comic simply didn't read that chapterbook.

I guess that's what happens when multiple different media are telling the story of your franchise, and the writers of those media don't consult each other :/

We might be able to think of this as an untold part of Cadance's story. So far, I only see one creator credited for the entire book: Christina Rice, presumably the writer. I'm becoming convinced that this is the same story that makes up the Rise of Cadance one-shot.
