My first try at drawing my OC

I finally got his cutie mark right. XD but now his body looks a bit iffy, as well as his mane. Feedback, negative and positive, is greatly appreciated.

-either increase the height of the mane on top of the head or add the second ear

-neck could be a bit thicker where it meets the head

-black doesnt really fit in with the look of he show, maybe think about changing the mane colour

-the hind leg should be in front of the outline of the belly

-maybe flatten the curve of the front legs just a smitgen

Also, was this done directly using pencil crayon? What I do is make a trace in pencil first (relatively lightly) so that lines erased won't be as noticeable. Then I colour (I'm only guessing because I don't actually use pencil crayon)

Is this your first time drawing? If it is, I would say kudos to you. When I drew my first pony, it seemed like a misplaced shape with eyes. As you said for his body, his neck seems to bulge out to an extent. If you drew the curve upwards to a shorter angel, the neck wouldn't bulge as much. As for the backleg, you have the line curving up so far e barely has a flank at all. You need to make his flank rounder, give him some more flank son! As for the tail, I can see you're going for an anime esque look. If you look up a tutorial for drawing anime style hair, a mane and a tail should not be hard to drawn in the slightest.

 

I would say keep up this work. You already have talent as a beginning artist, and if you keep this up, I could see you joining one of the forums best!
