Clawdeen 21,195 July 21 Share July 21 I think both books mentioned so far sound really interesting. Hopefully I’ll have some more free time tomorrow. So I can browse around to see what I’d like to read that I can throw in as a suggestion 1 1 1 *Cult Classic But I Still Pop* *Tonight, I’ll Be Crooked* *I Want The World Nothing Less*

SparklingSwirls 21,584 July 22 Share July 22 (edited) Hmm I’m afraid I don’t really have any suggestions, that’s why I said I was interested, cause I don’t know on my own what would be a good book to read 10 hours ago, Fluttershutter said: Something I've been wanting to read for a while is Howl's Moving Castle. I love that movie! I didn’t know it was a British book first. I would probably vote for this^ Edited July 22 by SparklingSwirls 2 1 ֍֎֍֎

Readers Longhaul 8,280 July 22 Readers Share July 22 I really don't know what to recommend here because most of the fiction I own is geared toward the fire service, and a lot of the language is not the friendliest in the world either. I'm more than happy to read whatever you all recommend, assuming I can get my hands on a copy, either physical or ebook. 1
Fluttershutter 2,920 July 23 Share July 23 It just occurred to me that A Wizard of Earthsea is a Ghibli movie too. My least favorite and it doesn't make a lot of sense. The book is much better. 1
Clawdeen 21,195 July 23 Share July 23 I hate to hop on the I'm not too sure what to recommend train but I don't know what to recommend lol. I do however want to ask if anyone has read The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart. I'd been considering that one for awhile and was curious if it's any good. 1 1 *Cult Classic But I Still Pop* *Tonight, I’ll Be Crooked* *I Want The World Nothing Less*
ExplosionMare 21,706 July 23 Share July 23 All I can think of is "The Giver" but I'm not sure how forums appropriate it is Most of my books, if not all of them, are at least PG-13, so I'm sorry if I don't have a great suggestion! Oh, wait, I have some MLP junior novels if anyone would be interested in those! 1 Boom!
Crypty Scribbles 6,515 Tuesday at 01:51 PM Author Share Tuesday at 01:51 PM Hello, Ponies! Please appologise Crypty's lazy flank. 9^9 I was really busy to move the club forward. Maybe I'll need somepony to help me with it in the future ^-^ So! Let's choose the book. I don't want to create separate topic with poll nor use external website for voting, so let's keep it simple. Please vote with reactions on this message! Howl's Moving Castle - "smile" House of Leaves - "excited" Wizard of Earthsea - "party" Any book - "hugs" If books will collect equal votes, I'll add my voice or roll a dice. @Clawdeen@Street Light@Tao@Fluttershutter@ExplosionMare@Longhaul@SparklingSwirls Por favor, let the voting begin! About time limitations I think, would be OK to put the end of first book session onto Halloween ^-^ 3 months seem enough for any of mentioned books. Your opinions on time amount, ponies? Should be enough? BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS Muahahaha!!!!111 5 1

Crypty Scribbles 6,515 Wednesday at 10:56 PM Author Share Wednesday at 10:56 PM (edited) The book was chosen! Howl's Moving Castle is leading and can not be over-voted. The book itself happened to be not very big. It's split for 21 chapters. Every week on Friday (starting from August 15th) 2 more chapters will be open for discussion. Here's the schedule: August 15th - up to and including 2 chapter August 22nd - up to and including 4 chapter August 29th - up to and including 6 chapter September 5th - up to and including 8 chapter September 12th - up to and including 10 chapter September 19th - up to and including 12 chapter September 26th - up to and including 14 chapter October 3rd - up to and including 16 chapter October 10th - up to and including 18 chapter October 17th - up to and including 20 chapter October 24th - up to and including 21 chapter The first period is extended to make sure that everypony could obtain their own copy of the book. Paper or digital or even audio if you wish. I already got my e-book copy ^-^ Discussion will be happening in a separate thread (will be created later) to control spoiler threat. Please! If the tempo is uncomfortably slow for you, don't hesitate to tell about it. If everypony will agree, we may try to increase reading pace ^-^ Edited yesterday at 01:51 AM by Crypty Scribbles 3

ExplosionMare 21,706 yesterday at 01:18 PM Share yesterday at 01:18 PM I found a flip book/ebook version online, so I can start reading soon Moments ago, Ice Princess Silky <3 said: O my gosh, this was such an intense book for me. I think it would be forum appropriate. I read this when I was a teen. Goodness, it made me cry. But it isn't, like, bad or anything. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too heavy for anyone! I read it in 5th grade and was fine, but I was used to reading heavy books all the time because I was in advanced reading, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't pushing anyone's limits! It is an intense book for sure! Not the most intense one I've read (that title for me goes to The Kite Runner, which definitely is too adult for this website!) but it's definitely changed my way of thinking about the world! 2 Boom!
