How many cats have you had?

Are you afraid of needles?

What's the worst way someone has messed up an order of food for you,

When's the last time you dug a hole?

If you could have lunch with anyone in your local area, who would it be and why?

How many cats have you had?

Oooh, I like cats, especially the more friendly ones. Now, don't take this the wrong way, but I think I'm more of a dog person! I've also wanted to always have a... maybe a friendly lizard as a pet. Hehe. But I dunno. I might be preeeetty bad with pets. I already have a hard enough time trying to take care of myself as it is!

Are you afraid of needles?

Mmmmm, uh-huh. I would just say I don't like them. But if I have to get a prick to get healthy real quick, then, uh... I'll just have to do it!

When's the last time you dug a hole?

Hehe, I love it—That's kind of a funny question. But, um... I guess I don't really dig holes? I leave that job to the construction ponies. I'm also not much into gardening, but I do know you have to dig small, itty-bitty holes to plant seeds.

If you could have lunch with anyone in your local area, who would it be and why?

Oh, well, since I live in Pony Town now, there aaaalways seems to be food just left randomly everywhere there—It's pretty great! You can just sit at an outdoor table or a picnic blanket, and there will just be a basket of fruit or stuff! There's also the patio spot with baked goods, and—Ooooh, you should check out the bakery there, too. They have vegetables, more fruit, and kebabs at the food stand near the, uh... I guess they call it the plaza. Yeah, you should really come to Pony Town, and maybe I'll even have some lunch with you... o-only if you wanna. Hehehe!

Rapid Quill: "Why hello there. I hope you don't think me forward, but do you have any hobbies? If so what are they? Also can you remember your dreams? If so what do you usually dream about?"

*Rowan gives a pleasantly handsome smile back.*

Do you have any hobbies?

Oh, no. Don't worry about that. I like it when people can be forward. I get it, cause I'm also worried about being too forward myself!

Uh, let me think. My main hobby is magic. I just looove, love-love it. It's so cool and amazing. I love learning about it, reading books, trying new foods, since I'm kind of a foodie. Uh... mmmh, probably also just... learning new things and making things. I'm a creator of sorts~ Hehe.

Also can you remember your dreams?

Ooohh, maybe I remember some of them. I have a counter-question: Do you ever get any nightmares and get visited and comforted by Princess Luna, or does that rarely happen to some ponies? Well, in terms of my dreams, I have silly and funny ones, sometimes crazy ones! But nothing I can point out in particular. I like the dreams where I get to jump and fly around really, really high and still be okay and not break my legs! I mean... I can already fly, but not that fast. Heehee.

Dreams that I really don't like are about my teeth falling out! No thanks. Or, like, losing my hair and getting laughed at for being bald! Or getting bullied by fillies as a colt... eh... I don't like to talk about my past that much, anyway...

Rapid Quill: "Wow, you dream about your teeth falling out? So do I admittedly. Not fun. I also have flying and falling dreams funny enough even though I don't fly. Usually in my dreams I start off flying really fast just fine and then all of a sudden I just fall really fast like a rock for literally no reason. But then it is only a dream and dreams can get pretty random or so I've read. Oh wait, you can fly?" /looks him over/ "How? Aren't you an earth pony? Do you fly by balloon or something? I'm going to be honest. I absolutely hate flying. I have this...friend that flies and whenever he takes me flying I feel queasy right after. Don't you tell any pony I told you that. It's kind of embarrassing!"

"And to answer your question about do I receive visits from Luna? I have, but I don't have many nightmares, so yeah. From what I hear she usually visits any pony that has really bad nightmares. And that's cool you don't have to talk about your past if you don't want to. Totally understandable and not to mention relatable."

*Carefully an courteously listens to your story, giving a gentle nod and turning his head to look at you as you were looking over him.*

Oh, I certainly did grow up as a land pony. But watch...! *He made a little magic poof of bright blue along his sides, then his Pegasus wings appeared... just like magic! "You see, I've become... pretty proficient at magic because I'm just so... crazy about it! He giggled and started to eye upwards to his own forehead. And with another poof. He made his unicorn horn visible. Well, by now, he just looked like an Alicorn.

"Uuhhhh, about my transformations--It's a long story, but I'm sure you'd like to hear it someday?" He put his right hoof over his lips, "And I promise I'm not a Changeling, either!" He looked back up and concentrated. With another poof, he hid his horn once again, leaving him with just his wings. It was really just that easy for him to make his horn and wings appear and disappear just like that, because of his somewhat strong internally-honed magic.

"Awwww, you have a friend that helps you fly? That's nothing to be embarrassed about! In fact, I think that's really nice. Hmmmm, flying was really hard for me, and it's even more difficult since I started kinda late. I'm also really not the fastest. Jeez, I swear, some of those Pegasi that have been doing it since birth can always manage to outrun me."

He then heard the other pony talk about Luna. "Well, I guess you're lucky. I mean everypony gets nightmares once in a while... I think so anyway! Would be real weird to never have those kinda dreams. But at least when you wake up, it's aaaalll over, and you can rest easy again. <3"

Rapid Quill: His red eyes widened in surprise as both wings and a horn magically appeared on the earth pony and he just stared at him in confusion. He wondered if this was some trick to this, but no the wing and horns looked real. Wanting to make sure it wasn't some sort of illusion Rapid reached his right hoof towards Rowan's horn and it felt solid. Startled, he let out a gasp. "Uh forgive my...confusion. I just never seen anything like this before. I didn't think it possible for an earth pony to do well any sort of actual magic. Sleight of hand yes, but real magic. How did you pull it off?"

When Rowan covered his mouth thinking he'd freak out by the transformation; which he sort of did, but for a totally different reason he pushed the red pony's hoof away and just sort of chuckled. Subtlety, Rapid cast a strong persuade/charismatic spell on himself to make him sound truthful even when he's lying through his teeth. "Well even if you were a changeling it wouldn't have bothered me. After all, they're all good now, right except for Chrysalis and maybe a few rogues?" the journalist unicorn reminded. He watched as the red pony caused his horn to vanish.

Rapid just sort of frowned when Rowan clearly misunderstood what he had said earlier. "Oh no you misunderstand. My friend flying me in of itself isn't what embarrasses me. It's well...the fact that flying makes me feel queasy. So much so that as soon as we land I end up puking; which I'm pretty sure isn't a normal response. Me throwing up afterwards is what I'm super embarrassed about." He then shot him a warning look. "Tell no pony! I'm a laughing stock already as it is!" He had no idea why he just admitted that to a complete stranger, but something about this pony made him real easy to talk to, so there's that.

He nodded when the other mentioned that the Pegasi fly super fast. "Yeah, that's what my friend is...a pegasus and boy does he ever fly fast. I suppose there are some Pegasi who are below average fliers like that one who is super buff and muscular. He's so...big and his wings are so diminutive. I'm surprised he's even able to lift himself off the ground." After looking up at the sky he shook his head. "I do understand why some enjoy flying. I...I just don't. I'd much rather just teleport my way around and not to brag, but I am really good at it," he bragged even though he is not the best at teleporting. He could do it just fine if not going too far, but if it's super far away there is a good chance Rapid ends up getting lost and unsure how to teleport directly back. Eventually, he will find his way back after teleporting a whole bunch of times and he will usually be pretty worn out by that time. This was the big reason his friend, Free Thinker disliked teleporting with him. But Rapid Quill is usually much too proud and stubborn to ever admit such and will instead brag about how great he is at teleporting.

Rowan gave an inquisitive look over and a purse of his lips when you asked him in his horn and wings were real, he turned around to face ya, and made sure to clarify one hundred percent, "Yep, totally real. I know, isn't it amazing! It pretty much all started back when I asked a very talented Unicorn in my class when I was a colt to put a horn on my head. That Unicorn was soooo great at magic, but it's just too bad I had forgotten their name. I can only remember just a little of what he looked like. I would come back home, and carefully hide the horn on my head with a cooool hat so my parents didn't notice. I'm sure they would have freaked out! At least, that's what I thought..."

He continued, "So anyway, I go back up to my room, and just start... uh... quietly practicing small magic spells one at a time, making sure my parents didn't notice. I had a huge, giant book. It must have been at least 600 pages of getting started with beginner's magic tricks. I was pretty good about doing my homework early. I was kind of a smart kid, but hated math. Nowadays, I actually kinda like math more as an adult. I'm kinda weird! But, you know... I think science and magic was more what I really liked. Reading was okay, too. But I hated history. I think history tests are just the worst. I always do bad at them. But, uh... sorry if that made you upset... you know... as a writer. I think my opinion on stuff has normalized a bit more now as I've gotten older."

He looked down to the ground for a few seconds, trying to remember the rest of this part of his colthood story, "Oh, right!--Uhh... eventually, my parents either figured it out--like, they figured out what I was doing in my room. I was getting so good at magic that I could eventually replicate spawning my own horn on my head, and making it appear and disappear, once I know what it was like having a horn in the first place. I was kind of surprised my parents were just in awe, and more proud of me than disappointed. Mmmm, I am so lucky to have really supportive parents. It turns out they did help enroll me in some magic schools, at least the ones that were around here. But it was nothing like being in Canterlot. The ones in the suburbs where I grew up in, in Baltimare, were lacking. It was a small class, but actually, the smaller class size gave em more time to talk with my unicorn teacher. And she was very nice. Gee, I wish I could remember her name, too... Awwww well... She said I was a very 'well-gifted student', and that makes me smile inside each time I remember those words. Hehehehe."

He then heard Rapid talking about the changelings, "Oh, I know they're good now. Back then, they weren't! But is just goes to show what the magic of love and friendship can really do once you spread it!" <3

He gave his eyes a little idle blink as you got sad while explaining why you didn't like flying, "Hmmmmm... Oooohh, I see. I am really sorry to hear that. I guess, you know..." he scratched the hoof on the back of his own head, "flying is not for everyone. I definitely get that. And, uh, yeah! I don't tell or gossip or aaaanything like that, because I sure wouldn't want any other pony to tell embarrassing things about be, either!" He gave a strong nod and glowing smile.

Rowan turned around and started to softly walk over and put this front leg hooves on a windowsill, folding them as he gazed out the window (assuming we were in some sort of room, or maybe cafe area having this discussion). He turned his body around to look towards ya, "Oh, yeah. Of course. Teleportation is a pretty basic spell, isn't it? But you probably already know the biggest problem of teleportation, right: Lack of verticality!" He explained his reasoning a bit more, "So yeah, I guess you could teleport where you wanted to, but without wings, can't stay up in the air, huh? Unless you had some sorta... levit--" He paused and held his tongue in a sense for a bit longer, "--Uh, oh, sorry... I got carried away." He blushed bashfully, and turned back around, facing the window again, putting his head on his front hooves. He totally was not acting as modest and empathetic as he usually does, but he loves explaining what is going on in his head a lot, too. It's a hard thing for him to balance.

He felt a little bad, "Well, uh... m-maybe flying just takes some... getting used to, right? If you would ever like any help... I can... fly a bit slower." He said humbly with his eyes peeking over.

Rapid Quill: Rapid’s red eyes widened some more as he listened to the red pony explain in detail how he is able to conjure up a horn and wings. He had to admit this was super interesting. So much so that he began to take notes. His magic caused his quill to quickly take notes on a small notepad. He tried his best to keep his quill from writing so fast that it disintegrates. He remembered everything his mentor (Free Thinker) had taught him.

He smiled slyly at Rowan. “You’re so right Mr. Uh…I’m sorry I don’t believe I caught your name. What is it? Mine’s Rapid Quill. Anyways, you are a very talented and skilled magic user it would seem with your impressive ability to conjure up a full working horn and wings. You really do look like an alicorn with both.” He frowned as he mentioned not being able to recall the name of his talented classmate. “You don’t remember the one who originally taught you the trick? That’s…well that’s too bad and kind of weird if I’m being honest. Because if a pony taught me something as amazing and impressive as that I don’t think I’d forget their face or their name. Tell me, have you ever thought about finding that unicorn again to thank them for your obvious success?”

He smirked when the red pony apologized for thinking history boring. “Not at all. I’m not mad. In fact, it’s perfectly normal to find some history books dull as dirt. Although, some history can be quite fascinating. I suppose it all depends on where you look.”

He just listened quietly and nodded as Rowan continued to talk about his time in various magic schools. “Oh yes I quite agree that small classes do have their advantages of the teacher being able to give their students more individual attention when needed.”

His red eyes lit up and he couldn’t help smiling as Rowan mentioned the magic of friendship. “Oh yes I for sure agree with that! Friendship is so…powerful! There’s nothing else quite like it! Friendship is so amazing! Like all of those stories about how the Princess of Friendship and her friends got together and using their combined power of friendship defeated many a powerful foe! Not even Tirek and Nightmare Moon could stand against them! So unbelievably awesome! Wish I was there to see it in person!” He then cleared his throat. “I hope to make many friends, so I can be just as powerful! Can’t wait!” Rapid Quill like Cozy Glow greatly misunderstood friendship for he only saw it as power and thought villains fools for thinking it weak.

Rapid Quill then sort of frowned as the red pony went on to claim that teleportation was simple when the journalist knew otherwise. “Whoa there buddy, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. Teleportation is not basic. It’s really powerful, advanced magic stuff that only a small handful of unicorns can do. Seriously, if every unicorn could teleport then we’d see them teleporting all over the place all the time, but we don’t. Why? Because as I said only a few unicorns can do it like myself. Trust me it takes a lot of practice to get even remotely good at it.”

The journalist then eyed him as the red pony seemed to have stopped himself from saying the word, levitation though he wasn’t sure why. “Oh you mean a levitation spell only one strong enough to cause me to float around? Yeah, no thanks. Never tried it and I don’t think I really want to,” he informed him point blank without saying why. But the journalist had a very good reason why he was always so reluctant to use his magic on himself and other ponies. It was because he didn’t want to hurt himself while attempting to cause himself to float around. It wasn’t like he never thought about doing it before. He had, but he still didn’t feel like he had enough control and he didn’t want to risk combusting from his natural speed magic causing so much friction.

Rapid sighed. “It’s cool. We all get carried away sometimes even me.” The blue unicorn nodded. “Yeah, I expect flying does take getting used to. The thing is I don’t think I really care too much. I don’t want to get used to it. I only fly with my friend when…when we have to.” He then looked around. “Sooooo do you have a favorite drink or snack? I myself am partial to that sweet apple cider, but just regular sweet tea is great too.”

Rowan should have remembered to introduce who he was! "Oh, my gosh. I am sorry. Hehehe. My name is Rowan--Rowan Ardency." Noting that he pronounced it close to "row-in". "But you can just call me Rowan. Probably easier that way~" He gave a single nod. "Well, it is very nice to meet-cha Rapid Quill." He gave a little blush when you nicely called him an Alicorn, "Aww, well... I don't like to think of myself as... royalty or whatever. You know, I just..." He started to shyly rub at one of his own front legs... "Hmmm... hehehe-he." He glanced back and forth between your eyes and the ground just a little, "Uh, well... I'm pretty okay at remembering faces, but not, uh..." He drew out a long and audible sigh, "Names are not my strong suit... not unless I've been around with somepony for a week or two!"

When he was asked if he'd like to meet that childhood unicorn friend again whom gave him the horn, he sprouted back upright, "Oooh, yes, yes. Of course I'd like to see him again! But the thing is, it was soooo long ago. I don't even know where he is, or... um... or even what he does, or what he looks like as a fully grown pony now! Well, jeez... what am I supposed to do?" he wondered. Sure would be nice to meet him again.

He just gave a one last little addendum to about his teacher in magic school, "Oh, I think you would have liked my teacher back in that day, too. If that's not too weird to say. I think everypony likes her! Ah-heh..."

When he heard you say that last line about friendship, something in his heart reacted to that, giving a subtle frown, but tried to hide it. He could sense your... desires... But, for now, he tried his best to brush those feelings aside for now. Yes, it was true. He could levitate other things--and himself--at least maybe at least 20 feet (6 meters) off the ground. However, any higher and his magical grip would sorta slip. It also depended on the weight of and of the things he was levitating in question, too. It was also harder to focus on levitating himself than anything else, so he didn't do that very often. His trick was instead to imagine a sturdy floor underneath him lifting him up, rather than imagining himself lifting up... himself... if that made any sense.

He also didn't know teleportation was really that hard for unicorns! All he did was just vividly picture and imagine the place he wanted to go to, but maybe it really was tricky for someone not used to doing it more often. It did use a lot of his magical energy to do it, so he didn't do it often. "Oh... Oh, really...?" He gave a nervous look and laugh, "Well I didn't... w-wanna... s-show off... or anything..." He said with shifty eyes, looking a bit disappointed in himself.

When asked about drinks and snacks, he thought about it... "Hmmmm... I like whatever I'm in the mood for, usually. I mean, I'll try anything, even mushrooms, as long as they're fully cooked of course. And olives, and garlic bread, and ice cream, and pizza, and pretzels, and cake, and brownies, and uh--Ahee, yeah, a lot of things. Hard to pick a favorite. If you every come to Pony Town with me, Maybe I'll treat you to some 'special' cider. Hehehe."

He did wanna say one last thing, "Making friends really is awesome, but I've also been trying to study the powers of love as well, and how that can also relate with friendship, and what it could mean when those powers are combined together. So, after I dropped out of the School of Friendship, I sort of wrote... a research paper! Hehehe... For now, I call it: The Elements of Passion."

He explained further in detail, taking a look at his notes, "I wrote down, 'friendships bring about harmony, and love brings about passion', I've been doing my research to try and figure out what the six Elements of Passion truly are. And if someone with all the twelve elements in their heart can truly be the most magical being of them all, and what could that mean? Are there even six elements, just like the ones for harmony? What truly is love, and what ways can it be expressed, and what bonds can be formed with it, just like friendship. And also... how can the two truly be combined together. That's my lifelong goal. That's what I want to figure out!"

He beamed happily with a wide smile, looking all around his study area. And, yes, there were various posters of Twilight Sparkle over his wall, since he was an admirer of her.

He gave a little chuckle and looked back embarrassed with a toothy grin, "Oh, sorry, I just get so excited whenever I get talk about magic, and love and friendship!" <3

Smiling Rapid reached across the table and shook Rowan’s hoof. “It’s nice meeting you as well Mr. Ardency er Rowan.” He then nodded in understand as the other went on to explain how he wasn’t very good at remembering names. He then frowned as the other went on to explain that he had no idea how to even find his former classmate to thank him. “Oh well that’s too bad… But surely there must be some way for us to discover where he now resides. A location spell or something…” His mind the went to Nook Cranny, a pegasus with a knack for finding not only lost items, but missing ponies. Unfortunately, the two of them weren’t exactly friends. They used to be, but Nook kept getting super nosy whenever around him and Free Thinker. A couple of times she came awfully close to discovering their secret. Still, if any pony could find Rowan’s old classmate she could.

As he thought about Nook Cranny a smile spread across his face. “You know what? You’re in luck because I happen to know some pony who would be a great help to finding your classmate. She’s a clairvoyant and lost and founder. She got her cutie mark in finding some missing geese during winter wrap up. If some pony can find your old classmate it’s her,” he revealed despite his reservations about seeing Nook again and dealing with her nosiness. But then his smile faltered some when he remembered something. “Um I don’t suppose you have something that your former classmate may have touched or came in contact with? In order to find your classmate Nook will need something that they were in contact with.”

“Oh that’s not weird at all,” Rapid told him in response to Rowan claiming he would have liked his magic teacher. Although, he wasn’t so sure about that. He wasn’t the best magic student due to his lack of control and him losing his temper due to his classmates constant teasing.

“Nothing wrong with showing off,” Rapid assured the red pony with a small smile and a wink. “It’s good to feel confident in one’s own abilities after all.”

Rapid felt himself blushing at Rowan’s mention of special cider. “Oh well I might have to take you up on that offer if this special cider of yours is what I’m thinking of,” he said with an amused chuckle.

The blue unicorn saw how excited the red pony was as he then went on to explain a research paper he had written on the elements of passion. “Oh that’s okay. It sounds pretty interesting actually. You sound like you put a lot of work into your paper. But you said you dropped out of Twilight’s school. So you wrote this paper for fun then? Hmmm…how very interesting indeed.” “Oh so you must have met Twilight then, right? What’s she like in person? And all of her friends? You must have met them all, right? Oh and let me guess your favorite subject was magic, right?”
