gaming Unreal Development Kit (UDK)

Well I didn't see any threads on this, so I thought why not make one (sorry if there is one and i missed it. Also if this is in the incorrect section please move it, I wasn't entirely sure where to place it).

For those unaware of what this is:

The Unreal Development Kit (or UDK for short) is a piece of game creating software made by Epic Games. It makes use of the Unreal Engine 3, which is used for a very large amount of popular games such as Gears of War, Borderlands, Unreal Tournament 3, Batman: Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, and a lot of others.

UDK can be used to create games for PC and IOS devices (the Unreal Engine 3 works on Xbox, PS3, Mac, PS Vita, and IOS and android devices, but i believe UDK only works for making IOS and PC games).

In addition to games, UDK can be used in other ways as well. It can be used to create environmental demos and cinematics, so it's not restricted to just game development.

UDK is also free for non-commercial and educational use. If you want to sell what you make, you need to buy a UDK commercial license which costs $99. You get to keep the first $50,000 of whatever you make, but after that you need to pay 25% to Epic (I may be wrong on this. For more detail here's their licensing section: http://www.udk.com/licensing).

Anyway I was wondering if anypony else here has used/uses this. I've messed with it off and on for awhile now, and am still trying to get the hang of how everything works (I found an amazing set of tutorials that really help, so that's nice). If so, what have you done with it? I did this awhile ago (last year i think) while messing with the terrain controls (as I was practicing I mostly used assets included with UDK, except the door model and rock water overhang model, had to make those myself. Put in spoilers due to image quantity):

This was a bit more recent (few months i believe) when i was seeing how big of a map i could make. I think this took around 15 minutes real time going in one direction in a car with occasional turbo to get across:

Sadly I'm not very good at the moment, but hope to improve. UDK uses its own scripting language called Unreal Script, so I'm working on learning that next. I'll probably update this from time to time and maybe add more information and stuff.

Here's a tech demo made with UDK (Blood warning):

If you want to know more about UDK and download it here's the website: http://udk.com/

For more about the Unreal Engine 3 here's that website: http://www.unrealengine.com/

Side note: Can't wait for the Unreal Engine 4 ^_^ That thing looks amazing.

Ooh, Unreal Editor? I used that tool when I had the GOTY edition of the original Unreal Tournament installed back in 2008 and 2009. Not terribly hard to learn either!

Sorta, UDK is a bit different though. It can be used for much more than mods as it does not require a UE3 game to gain access to, works with IOS devices, and can create standalone games. Also I think it has more features, and is constantly being updated with new features and tools.
