On paper I believe that you should have a clean slate after you've served your time, but that's not how it works in practice. Obviously I won't have someone working in a field connected to the crime, but if their actions were non-violent, it's been at least a few years since they finished their sentence, and they've had a good track record since, then I see no reason not to if they're otherwise qualified. Especially if they were let out early for good behavior.
