Did you know that the My Little Pony Roleplaying Game (Renegade Game Studios) uses the term Metamorphosed Changelings? I guess that Reformed was considered to be problematic for some reason. Though, come to think of it, River Horse's Tails of Equestria didn't use the term Reformed Changelings either.

It was a bad idea, especially to change their look. I’d still complain if they left their designs alone, but at least I feel they’d be accepted for who they were

I think that the reformed Changeling designs on Friendship is Magic are ugly. I'm also not a fan of Thorax so that might be why I dislike them. :Thorax:

i completely agree. their designs are very disappointing, they could have looked so much cooler

They're great, then again I don't know many of them, I just think it helped promote inclusivity in Equestria. They're not all cruel just because their Queen is. Their Queen uses coercion, ultimatums and emotional abuse to get what she wants. Reformed Changelings understood loyalty to Chrysalis was not worth losing their freedom, so they revolted and learned Ponies in Equestria offered something greater, and that was beautiful.

I don't really like their designs, except Pharynx, who looks pretty cool.

Their culture is interesting though, I call it an "imitative culture". They import various customs and traditions from other groups (mostly ponies), often misunderstanding them in a funny way.

a little weird how we were explicitly stated they must feed on love, but suddenly now they can share it ("?") also, how is Ocellus not constantly starving, we didn't even see how the skittlebugs ("share") love aside from S6 Finale Part 2

The idea of reforming the changelings is interesting, but I don't like the designs at all. Not only are most of them eye-wateringly bad, but it also feels like the episode is saying, "if you want to really be good, you must look good too!" It also makes no sense at all how the changelings just...magically look completely different when they give love.

Hot take but the designs are good in my opinion

I think they're cute, but that's kinda irrelevant to whether or not the designs are valid or not.

Sidewinder disagrees which is fine, however if we're going to take this too seriously, how much sense does it make for Changelings to feed on love energy? honestly, I think it was basically a censored version of "life force" but obviously they cannot imply that too heavily in a children's TV show, so Hasbro had to come up with another description of what Changelings do to survive. But it's like Hasbro tried to have their cake and eat it too, design Changelings as predators, but did not wish to follow through with the concept even if it came at the cost of raising the age of the target demographic to at least PG territory, so we ended up with this, half in half out.

Love energy does not make a whole lot of sense to me, if Queen Chrysalis successfully found a lover to exploit, does that mean she can use them as a living battery continuously to grow infinitely stronger? the creepy implications that go with that, I don't want to get into, it's bad enough that Chrysalis tried to force Shining Armor into marriage, which I am sure is one of the things fans find scary about her.
