I'm roughly two decades past my forties now. I entered the fandom through my spouse who has been a My Little Pony fan since  MLP G1 and Rescue at Midnight Castle.

That’s seriously awesome. Coming into the fandom through your spouse and with Rescue at Midnight Castle roots no less feels like the most wholesome possible origin story. Nd it's awesome how you're still a Brony.

G1 fans have seen everything, and it’s really cool that the love for My Little Pony carried forward and brought you in too. It just goes to show how timeless the fandom is, and how friendship really does span generations.

Mid 50s here. I remember my little sister watching the original MLP in the mid 80s, when I was in my teens. I wanted to like the show then--who wouldn't, with talking magical ponies?--but the show was just too cute and poorly executed. Got into G4 in my early 40s, maybe up to season three, then forgot about it. Rediscovered it December 2024, and just finished the entire series yesterday.
