Kyrodian Legends is a strategy RPG series I'm programming in SDL/C++ that I'm gonna release for PC, Mac, Linux and Game Gadget.

 

The premise is pretty basic. An orphan squirrel named Midi Waffle (name sound familiar?) joins a guild called the Cloud Chasers and has to stop an evil penguin faction called the Cold Front from taking over the world. Basic plot, yes, but the middle is where it's all at.

 

See, instead of just basic turn-based RPG battles, each battle is a tactical turn-based battle that takes place right in the overworld. Fleeing from battle works by running out of the battle ground, and many factors such as season, time of day and leading character affect battle in different ways, so again, not your standard gameplay.

 

Even the flow of the game isn't just about searching for dungeons and grinding to beat bosses. There are many, many ways to learn the lore of planet Kyroda, and information you collect is added to a database that you can access at any time.

 

The website is at www.kyrodianlegends.com. Currently no playable demo is available, but I'm working on it. Also, I regret to say that the site is outdated, but I'm working on correcting that now.
