Any official game will be directed toward the show's official target audience, likely with a shoestring budget and shallow gameplay that offers little in the way of redeeming features.

yeah that's what I was trying to get at when I said " although it would end up like that GBA My little pony game I saw, which was terrible. "

There is another fan-made game,

it's a mlp version on the ace detective games

it looks really, good I'm trying to find the youtube video link right now :) ~

The only thing I have against them making official games is that it will probably poorly developed with the intention of simply selling them to kids who have a DS or something like that http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Much like the way they handle their merchandise.

True, but have you played the Hamtaro games? i thought they were well done and interesting :) I was hoping they'd be made like that ~

The thing about it is, you could make anything. it could be Zombiefare, warfare. MMO, RPG, Platformer (OK, that would probably be silly), some barbie like game. Zelda style. the Mario RPG kinda style. LBP style. I would especially love a Zombiefare with ponies. no clue why. probably because one always strive for what one may never have. :P

but some RPG, not MMO, would be amazing in my opinion.

Let's not mince words. We all want to see a DS FIM RPG with the current VAs that looks like this.

Am I right?

いいえ, what we all want is an RPG platformer produced by WayForward. Just look at their work:

Can anyone disagree with this?

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best—" and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

I would like a MLP video game if it was done right, but all the signs point to it being a disaster.

- Young girl demographic means the game is designed for little kids, meaning shallow gameplay and little to no story at all.

- Video games based off of cartoons, TV shows, and movies are very rarely good at all. I'm not saying it can't be done, but history shows it's quite the Rarity that a game based off of a show is ever good.

IF Hasbro decided it's time to pull a G3 and make a video game, what genre do you think it should be? I bet Fighting is Magic will be great, but let's be real, they'd never make an official pony game where the ponies beat each other up, no matter how cartoony and non violent it could be.

I would say a platform game or an RPG.

If Hasbro wants a MLP RPG that appeals to girls, there IS one end-all, be-all company out there that would definitely be able to make a FIM RPG both appeal to girls and be awesome at the same time. Gust. Seriously, Hasbro. If you're reading this, get Gust to make the game. NIS America will even LICENSE it if you do that. You'll freaking wonder why you never thought of that before. Ninety percent of their games have things we've seen in FIM. No fooling. Here's examples of some of the stuff in their games.

The thing that sets them apart from most game companies (other than being able to choose English or Japanese voice overs), is that their games all have overly cutesy characters and really insanely sick attack animations.
