BronyCon. More specifically Cheeseburger Paradise on Sunday. The Documentary crew wanted to treat us Military Bronies (or "Her Royal Guard" as Lauren referred to us as) to lunch as a way of saying thanks for our service. I also scored John's autograph.

Thanks!

What branch did you serve?

You can have the pony Rarity, I want the lovely young lady cosplaying as Rarity

I'm the one who took the picture - ever occur to you that I might want the lovely young lady cosplaying Rarity? Alas, I am such a Fluttershy that I did not really talk to her. Forever alone! :(

*is sad*

*sigh*

I wish this wasn't going to be the last BroNYCon. But, y'know, now everybody important in the fandom was at this one, so BroNYCon is pretty much done. It's a sad day to be a brony who isn't in NYC.

No, this isn't the last BroNYCon, it cant be! I was going to go next year! :(

"What are you going to buy?" Asked Mother, "Ponies, of course!" I cried, skipping down the pink aisle.

I have no idea what Invader is talking about. There will be another BronyCon. The fandom is likely to grow over the course of the next year, and that will mean the convention will embiggen as well. I'm sure Ashleigh Ball, Tara Strong, Andrea Libman, and a slew of other personalities connected to the show would enjoy returning to BronyCon. I suspect John de Lancie will probably be a rather dedicated guest from this point forward.

So just because Lauren Faust was at this convention does not mean, in lieu of a potential future absence, BronyCon is finished. Far from it; I suspect it can only get bigger and better!

I concur. It would be unfathomable to think that after having attendance go from 100 to 500 to 800 and then 4000 in a year, that BronyCon would just stop. The momentum is rolling on Bronydom and BronyCon has the opportunity to cash in on their success and being that they are HQ'd in/around NYC, they are set to position themselves as the next ComicCon type event.

I think NYC might be done as the "Host" city. Meadowlands really sold themselves as a viable event site.

The VIPs were tweeting for days after the Con about how awesome it was. Lauren made a comment about going to work and nobody hugged her or asked for autographs. I forget which voice actress tweeted that she felt like a rock star with the support and love she received from the fans. It's like treating a girl the right way on your first date.....you don't think that Lauren, John, Tara and all of the other VIPs aren't talking the event up to their friends?

I remember Lauren tweeting during BronyCon that "this must be how it feels to be a rock star." I had the distinct sense that the entire convention left an enormous impression on them.

Truth be told, I suspect BronyCon will soon need to find a larger venue. The Meadowlands Expo Center was cramped when placed at maximum capacity. They may have to begin looking to other places in the general tri-state area. I doubt that they will be too far removed from NYC, though.

Good point on the venue size. I agree that it would be a mistake to move too far from the freakin' media capital of the world. I don't know enough about all of the venues in the area to speculate on where else they could go. But if they start planning and talking about it now, that would give them an idea what what size they would need. The trick is to find the right size that you can fill without being overcrowded or too big.

never understood why people dress up like it's halloween at these cons...

From what I saw from the videos of the brony con, that wasn't that much compared to comic cons and fur cons.

If I went to bronycon, I would just dress up as Spiderman. Why, you ask?

It would be amazing if they could get the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

There would be no room problems there, haha. Though I'm not sure how they finance these events, so I can't tell if they can even afford a center like this. :P

It would be awesome to hold BronyCon in a convention center which looks like it could double for the headquarters of an intelligence agency.
