agigantorllama 258 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 I hope this isn't flooding the Fan Art page or anything. Creds to the ones at DeviantArt for providing Vectors and brushes! I also hope this one turned out better. Because I don't realize till everyone points out my mistakes (Which is very helpful!) 6 Digital Artist. Using GIMP. Haven Celestii 9,385 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Doesnt look too bad. Its nice and simple. Probably should have had her hooves not get cut off at the bottom even if it is such a small amount. I like it!
NavelColt 22,882 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Eh. Blue doesn't do it for me with an AJ wallpaper. I feel her orange and yellow color scheme is too vastly different. I get the whole contrasting colors idea but for me AJ wallpapers should have warmer colors to compliment her color scheme. At any rate though I love the vector used of her.
Nas 2,873 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 (edited) Nice resolution, vector, and font choice. It's good and simple, with only a mere glow effect and strands the background, which I like. :3 The only thing that sets me off is the background color. Blue doesn't seem very “Applejack” to me. :< Maybe something like orange, or yellow? Edited July 4, 2012 by NASCARFAN160licious My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. Hazardus_Havard. 480 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 Ah, that IS much better from the last one. It at least appeals to show the figure in the piece as the primary viewed point and a nice, unique presentation to the text is welcome. Constructive Criticism put - The blue may be a bit off putting though. It definitely appeals to putting out Applejack, but it gives off a strange look since nothing matches with that and her. Possibly using the greens in her eyes to the gradients used in the back would have been more appealing and would have connected with her tree's in the Apple Acres. The brush strokes are a tad awkward in the image. I can see that something was needed to be placed to have a better appeal to just a plain gradient field in the background, but the strokes don't synch in anything placed. If you had placed Applejack in brush strokes similar to the ones in the back, then I can see something like this being appropriate. Touching up on the strokes again, try and replace with something that fits with the character. Lasso's, the outside appearance of the farm animals, even a repeating pattern of trees or apples. These are a few ways to help with filling the back out more. Just remember that what ever you do, try not to use an overabundance or have a lack of use to any applied touches in your images as it could hurt the overall picture. 1 Practice makes perfect; but if nobody's perfect, why practice? http://hazardus-havard.deviantart.com/ Art http://www.fimfiction.net/story/70801/an-alien-walks-amongst-us Story
Talemage 47 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 The only thing that I dislike here is the fact that the first 'A' would be hidden by my launcher(I'm using Ubuntu, think of the launcher similar to the dock in OS X). Aside from that, I really like it. Simple, yet nice. 1 Twilight Sparkle is best pony, and I'm willing to explain logically for that to be true! By the way, mine and Twilight's personalities have a lot of similarities, maybe hardly any difference. I checked. -Bookworm in the greatest sense possible, writer, organized, introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving-

Probably should have had her hooves not get cut off at the bottom even if it is such a small amount. I like it! I wasn't sure how to do the hooves honestly. If I showed all of the hooves then it would look like she's floating. Then again your taskbar at the bottom wouldn't allow you to see the hooves anyways. At any rate though I love the vector used of her. I felt the need to stop using warm colors for Applejack for some reason. I really wanted to see if cool colors are suitable for Applejack. I agree.
