WIPs from the 4th/progress

[Raiyny Day 71]

Went home for the 4th and decided to do some drawing with my tablet.

 

Here's the first one:

 

The first part of progress I uploaded was this. I wanted to -attempt- a romantic scene, since I've really only drawn maybe 3-4 in my whole drawing career. I've so far got part of Raiyn's fur done and linework.

 

Progress part 2 (1 1/2 hours later): Finally all the colouring/basic shading is done. I'm still thinking if I want to have more shading.

 

Progress part 3 (hour - hour 1/2 later): Erasing is finally done, got some colours on the eyes. Still not finished, but I left it alone until I come home next.

Progress part 1: Final lineart, not much to say really, other than I was really happy with the mane.

 

Progress part 2: Colouring of the fur and mane is done and thinking "why the hell did I make it so detailed?!" when I started erasing the colour x__x This piece still isn't done, expect a finished piece in the next 2 weeks.

 

That just about does it for the digital art I've done this weekend. I've also started a crochet hat and a practice MLP amigurumi, but I most likely won't post them.

Couldn't tell they were kissing until the last coloring from the first image. The figure on the fight of the image (the male pony) has hair that should be more rounded to show a proper alignment to it's head. Other than that, there really is no problems with the image I can see (it's just awkward seeing pony's kiss like that what with their elongated faces)

 

The second image has problems concerning a few things starting with the calves. The one in the back of the figure or the right leg calf should be brought back significantly to the other leg. Either that or fix the strange roundness they both exhibit.

 

The front legs seem to be a bit too long. I'd consider seeing how they'd look shortened and compare to the original for best output of the two.

 

A color problem can be seen with the pony's tale and the wrapping that is at the connection to it's body; you should color it something other than white so we can see they are connected more properly (alternatively, color the background so we can see the white stand out better)

 

And this is just a point out, not sure if the second image of the pony is to represent any type of pony from any of the lines, but if so you forgot the cutie mark.

The little wrapping is going to be a different colour, I haven't gotten around to it yet and I always put the cutie mark on last

I use Paint Tool SAI for everything, on occasion GIMP (which is kind of like a free version of Photoshop)
