After being counter trolled by Fluttershy, he made her Flutterbad in a snap without manipulating her, just a straight up spell. Why not do that to all of them? And turn Celestia hopeless? Then, he gives them a free shot twice. He should have played it safe. If he wasn't always acting so Discord, could he have won with ease? NavelColt 22,882 July 9, 2012 Share July 9, 2012 His entire plan with the turning the Mane 6 into their anti-selves was his counter to the fact that they were a formidable team. It's like Twilight said, he knew deep down that they were formidable, that's why he split them up and turned them against each other. His problem was that he truly believed they would never be able to recover from that completely enough to use the elements. He got cocky when he saw that they failed the first time, so he figured they would fail again the second time. As far as Celestia and the others go, they simply weren't a threat to him, because Celestia no longer controls the Elements with Luna, and as far as we know, only the elements can stop him. As for the rest of your questions, yes. Discord is the living embodiment of chaos. He strolls into Equestria, snaps his fingers, and shit literally goes to hell. He's easily the most potent villain in the series as far as pure magical strength goes. I do believe if Discord didn't focus on trying to have fun and play with his prey, and was actually serious and didn't underestimate the ponies like he did in the end, he wouldn't have lost, or at the very least, not that easily. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chrysalis I agree with, she's a parasite. Her power is not her own. Plus she seemed utterly surprised that she was able to win. Discord though, the fact he wanted to be flashy and appear through a window means little more than he's being himself, to me. I don't see that as a reason for how he's inferior to Celestia. Just looking at what they're capable of, it's really obvious. Celestia: -Raises the sun *and moon, before return of Luna* -Shoots horn beams -Can teleport using light Discord: -Remove body parts from ponies -Remove logic from vast regions and replace it with chaos -Make the sun and moon spasmodically trade places in the sky at random, with no visible effort. -Corruption of people's emotions and minds through touch. -Teleportation, shape-shifting, etc. In the end, Discord snaps his fingers, everything goes crazy. All we've seen Celestia do is raise the sun and shoot a beam from her horn. I'd say he's stronger if anything. Ponies don't live forever so multiple ponies have to be the elements of harmony at different times. So discord comes out each time new ponies represent the elements of harmony and he challenges them. He never tries to win he just sees how much he can push the ponies and how long it takes them to win. If he wanted to win he probably could have just made it so the mane six didn't want to win and he would automatically win. I believe he's far more powerful than Celestia for she needed the elements or harmony to defeat him in the past and told Twi and co to use them as well (She also says it's the only way to do it.)
