Sketch Critique (for a friend)

Okay, I'm doing an image for a friend of mine and did this simple sketch up. It's of Mega Man and I plan on attempting to color it soon, but I'd like some critique on if anything looks strange or things that could help.

Naw, it's pretty flawless from what can be seen. Really there's not much there that can be picked for improvement and proportionally it's all there. Perhaps the facial expression could use a bit of touch up but that's it.

Well, being a big Mega fan myself (I can proudly say, I played all games, watched just about all the show, and read the manga) this looks really well. My main issue (and this isn't even much) is with the left eye. I think him squinting it could make it better, yet what makes him cool imho is how he's shaded. Make the colors when you get there, nice and thick with heavy shading. Just sayin'.

 

Since it's incomplete, I give you 9/10.

 

I can still see this coming as official concept art though.

The only thing that strikes me as odd is that the legs seem to be a tad to wide. Other then that, I can't wait to see what it looks like finished!

No kidding. I was actually thinking of making one of his eyes squint but wasn't sure if it'd help the image at all. Gonna take this into consideration.

 

As for coloring and shading, thinking of doing it in my usual style or practice Cel Shade, haven't decided yet.

 

Side note, did you change your name? Before your name was just a name, now your name made me hungry. I'm gonna go steal some food from the fridge now.

Strange enough a lot of the Mega Man images I looked at for different poses had him wide legged at that, even in some of the cartoons, though rare. The image should be done in a day or two, unless I decide to Cel Shade it, and if then it would be a few days. I'll post it here on this site for additional critique help and to share.

Two things I wanted was possibly a wider mouth and maybe a squinty eye. Not sure how they'd look, but I'm gonna take a look at it.

BTW, my friend is a huge Starfox fan and like the Andross, said it looked just like him. Was weirded out by the ponies though. I lol'd
