I've installed everything and am set to play. However, I am a victim of the infamous "Forever Loading" screen. I am unable to hop into the game after joining any server... I've scoured the internet for solutions, but always receive the, "That's Alpha state, bro."

I find it hard to believe the problem is due to the mod's Alpha stage... Nonetheless, I would be thrilled to team up with fellow MLPForum-goers once I get the darn thing up n' running!

 

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix the permanent loading screen problem? Anyone?

If it is indeed the 'loading' message that you get stuck at, this fixed it for me (copy and pasted from another forum. Would link it but it's a bit buried. This may only work with the steam version, idk though):

 

 

To fix;

1.go to A2OA in steam

2. Right click on it and click reinstall Battleeye anti cheat

3. Go to http://www.battleye.com/download.html

And download the 32 bit operation arrowhead head DLL file ('me talking here ->' You'll need both the files, they should be at the top of the page).

4. Navigate to your A2OA DIRECTORY in C drive

5. Go to folder EXPANSIONS

6. Go to folder BATTLEYE

7. Paste the downloaded DLL file here and replace the one currently there( windows will ask you to copy and replace)

8. You should now be able to join servers.

 

Couple other notes: If you get stuck at 'waiting for host', press Esc on your keyboard and check your game version number. It should be at the bottom right of the main menu. Then, check that number with the version of the server you're trying to load up. If they don't match, you can't join. (Some servers just don't seem to work sometimes though, so you may have to try a few times if that doesn't work). The latest server version is 95248 (according to that. Servers seem to be running 95208 and 95251 mostly though, so you may want to get one of those) which you can get here if you aren't up to date: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Note you might have to delete the 'beta' folder in expansions in order to update it. Also I haven't updated and tried 95248 yet, so I can't personally say if it works for me or not.

 

There's probably more you can try if none of the above works.
