Crocheted Lyra & Bon Bon

Hey well I thought I'd share something I finally got finished recently.

My best friend's a big MLP fan (bigger than me, I admit) and her favourite pony's of the show are Lyra and Bon Bon. There was a pair of crochet Lyra and Bonbon's with magnetic noses for about $60+ on an auction but that was waaay to much for me. So instead, I followed this fantastic crochet pony tutorial and here's the end result:

I contemplated selling custom ponies (with my own pattern) but the crochet toys don't seem to sell as well as the loveable minky plush - a warning to fellow crochers >O<

Well, at least these ones don't have the magnetic noses. I found that to be a tacky feature on the originals you were talking about.

Yep, because giving them magnets would have destroyed all my effort. Thanks man it's very appreciated.

You are welcome. I actually like these ones a lot more than the originals. The colours are better, the shapes of the bodies (especially the legs and the back half) are more succinct and proper, and I quite like how Lyra's mane turned out.

These are actually pretty cute. Are you planning on making any more?

Also, I agree with KakeiTheWolf on the magnetic noses. They do look better the way you made them. :3

I rather like them lol, maybe more than the plushies ive seen because they look a lot more flexible like you could move their legs around and stuff. Sure they're not as technically accurate as the plushies but there's something really simple but awesome about them

good job!

Finland is my favorite. All the other Hetalia characters can go now.

These are so cute! Amazing Job!

I wish I knew how to do this stuff. Is it hard to learn? Or is it relatively easy?

Amigurumi (the proper name for these stuffed crochet creations) is so easy, someone who has little experience can learn it in a sinch! How do I know? Well the only things I've ever crochet before in my life was a Scarf and a Beanie which is as easy as you can get. If you haven't done any crochet before, get into the vibe of a couple of simple crochet projects and then you can tackle amigurumi.

Really, the stuffed toys make it look harder than it really is!

SO CUTE!!! I especially love love love the Bonbon!

Thanks! She's my fave as well! I think perhaps because she has more colours to work with, and I think that ribbon looks rather fetching on her (she only had that temporarily so I could keep her long hair tidy will I finished up the last of the hair, but my friend wanted to keep it aftewards P:)

And overall, thanks everyone!
