While walking and introducing themselves, Lightning got to hear their story, and how they got to where they are today.

"well i'm Lightning Flash" she stuttered... (not used to talking with others)

As the ponies searched a few homes they came up on a buildidng that's sign only read "sugar cu...."

the rest was ripped off.

 

Across the streat a figure came into view.

Lightning and connor both took a fighting stance, ready for anything.

Oh crap! I think they see us. Ok ill go out on three. Takes deep breaths for whatever happens next. This is for you mom. one.....two.....THREE! Jumps out horn drawn in a charging stance. What are you doing here!? Have you come to raid us and leave us for dead!? ANSWER ME! Charging up his horn

Connor steps forward, telling Jason to stay back.

 

"Calm down, we aren't here to cause any trouble! Were just looking for food. Look, we don't want any trouble"

 

Connor knew he had to prepare for anything, these people may feel threatened and try to attack.

"Hey,calm down, we are seriously just looking for food and shelter. No need to make any rash decissions." Lightning chimed after connor not averting her gaze from the pony that stood in front of them. She noted other ponies that stood and watched from behind him.

Lies! Firs the beam at them. I have heard all these stories before. What do you take me for a Fool!? Charging his beam again while running at Lightning. You will rue the day you came here. About to fire his beam again when he sees a child.

While he is distracted, Lightning and Connor knock the pony over and pin him to the ground...

Lightning Raises her fist to strike the pony and says "Now give me one good reason not to kill you right here!"

The pony continued to struggle

OOC: Also just a small gripe, I don't think Connor would be aggressive like that. I'll write his dialogue

 

 

 

Back In Character: Connor helped Lighting Pin the pony down. He heard Lightning threaten his life, to witch Connor replied.

 

"Listen, we don't need this! Stand down both of you! All we are looking for is food! Now listen, we will let you go if you promise not to attack us! I'm just trying to find food and safe shelter for my son!"

Lightning looks at connor, then at the pony...

"fine... " *lets go of him* "but if he tries to pull a fast one, i'll put him out." she said aggressively.

They both stand up and eye eachother...

The other pony begins to speak

Still looking at the child. Is this your child? We may be able to help you after all. Oh and if you do kill me you will never find the way to the safe haven that we are going to. Dizzy are you sure you want to be telling them this? Yea Diehard might not like the fact that we have more ponies to take care of. Looks at the two. Diehard will take anypony in, no matter who they are. But forgive me for attacking you. We have had problems with Wastelands here lately. Walks in the shelter. Due come in, and get out of the cold. We have some extra food and warm clothes inside.

"No no, it's his, i just met him along the way" she said sounding embarassed. (the way you wrote it lol )

Him and his son showed up about an hour after I got into town, we are all very cold and have no supplies but outselves.

We would appreciate any hospitality you could show us.

Connor nods after waiting for Lightning to finish speaking.

 

"Yes, he is my son. My name is Connor, and his name is Jason. This is lightning by the way. We just met about an hour or so ago." He gestured towards Lightning.

 

Jason still just follows Connor, keeping his head down. He was very nervous, he wasn't used to seeing other ponies besides his dad.

 

Connor makes sure to keep Jason close to him at all times.

 

They enter the shelter, and it is pleasantly warm compared to the outdoors. Still, Connor thought to himself that they could not stay long. By the sounds of it, It was already pretty crowded. Connor intended to take whatever supplies he could without leaving too little for the ponies here, and taking his son out again.

 

Of course, he kept this to himself for now. For now, he just followed Lightning Flash into the shelter.

After walking in. Like i said forgive me for what happened outside. But do make yourself at home while your here. Walking over to Connor. If your son need some clothes we have some child size in the back room. And for the lady we have some in the women's sleeping quarter.

Connor nods.

 

"Thank you so much, that is very generous of you. And I understand why you did what you did, there are some nasty ponies out there. I know what it's like to wan't to protect those you love".

 

Connor glanced down at Jason who was still acting nervous. Jason has not said a word since they ran into Lightning Flash.

 

It was very convenient that they had children's clothing here. Most of Jason's clothes were beginning to tear, and he was mostly just wrapped up in old blankets.

 

"You are already offering us so much, but do you think we could trouble you for some food also? We have been eating nothing but chicken feed for the last month, and we are almost out..."

 

Connor said, hoping that they could spare anything at all.

No prob. We just had a shipment of food come in today. AL fix this guy and his kid up with a lotus. This will fill you up. Its said to be a super flower. Looks at Jason. Hey lil guy. How are you? We got some food for ya. And some toys if you want to play later. Does that sound nice? Looks back to Connor. We just sent all the women and children to the Solar Palace with Diehard. He should be back in the morning if you want to stay.

Jason smiles nervously. He looks at Connor quickly, looking for approval, Connor nods.

 

Jason smiles and goes to a corner with toys and begins to play.

 

Connor thinks for a bit. It will probably be in they're best interest to stay for the night at least. Better in here with food than out there in the cold again.

 

"Thank you so much. We'll stay for the night to gather our bearings. We won't be a hassle I promise."

 

Connor's stomach begins to growl as he looks up embarrassed.

 

"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to eat something before I pass out. Thank you again."

Lightning wakes up an hour later and rejoins conner and the survivors in the main hold.

"What did i miss?" she asked connor

"not much" connor replied.

"well that is good no major events happened" she said jacously.

 

she turns to the pony that let them in earlier and says.

"i'm sorry but what was your name again?"

No prob, and the names Dizzy Doo. Just have a seat at the bar over there so you can get some food in your system. Meanwhile back at the palace in the medical ward, Diehard walks out the room with blood on his coat. How is he? Is he ok? Hes fine. He is still a little dazed from the drugs but he will be fine by morning. Sigh...Thank you sir for all your help. But there is one thing. You will have to be there for him when he wakes up. Its not easy waking up to a missing arm So just as he was strong for you, you now have to be strong for him in his darkest hour. The mother starts to cry. I will. M...mmay i see him? "so dizzy... How did you and the rest of these ponies get here?" Lightning asked

"What made you set up in ponyville? There are safer areas than here aren't there?"

 

And who is this Diehard you have told us about.

An hour or so had passed before Lightning had woken up. Connor just acknowledged her question.

 

"Not much".

 

 

Connor was just happy to have food in his belly, and for the first time in a long time he actually had to take off some clothing because of the heat. He looked over at Jason, who was playing with the toys in the corner.

 

Connor approached his son and sat down next to him.

 

"Hey daddy." Jason greeted Connor without taking his eyes off the toy he was currently occupied with.

 

"How are you feeling buddy?" Connor asked his son.

 

"Pretty good... Dad, can I ask you something?" He said as he looked up at Connor.

 

"What is it?"

 

"Is this going to be our new home?" Jason asked with a hint of joy.

 

Connor had to think about this. He knew that they couldn't hold up here forever. This is probably the best place Jason has ever stayed in his life though, It beats all the campsites and caves they've been migrating from for years. Still, Connor could not make a promise he knew he couldn't keep.

 

"No Jason, were just going to be staying here for the night.." Connor said.

 

Jason looked disappointed. Connor just patted him on the back.

 

"It'll be alright buddy, we'll get by. I love you son."

 

Jason looked up at connor with a big smile, then wen't back to playing with his toy.

Lightning turns away for a moment teary eyed :'(

"ah stupid dust in my aye!" she muttered then rejoined with connor and dizzy.

"so what is the plan of action?" she asked connor and dizzy.

 

Not knowing what to expect for their next course of action.

Connor left Jason to play with his toys as he joined Lightning and Dizzy.

 

"Plan of action? Well to be honest I was planning on gathering my bearings and heading out tomorrow. I was planning on heading out east to Canterlot, maybe find some more food and equipment. What were you doing before we met up Lightning? How long have you been traveling alone?"

 

Connor asked. He was curious.

"Well... I don't really know what i did before today. I sort of... woke up." she said in a conserned tone.

"But i don't remember being with anypony for years."

 

"That is all I can remember. sorry..."

We were all found by Diehard a few months ago. This is just one of his safe houses around whatever is left of this world. But Diehard was in the war when it all went to crap. He was apart of the underground movement that tried to stop the war. But now hes hold up at the Solar palace in Canterlot as his home.

"oh I see." she exclaimed. "so they are being held up by wastelanders? Where did they come from?"

starting to feel a sort of uneasyness about the whole situation.

This could be getting ugly for all the survivors.
