Driz 1,552 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 I don't know if these were already discussed, but I wanted to gather up some of the biggest questions I have about the show, so I can share and discuss them with y'all. More specifically, there's three: 1) Why wasn't Rainbow Dash accepted in the Wonderbolts yet? She's one of the few pegasi (if not the only one) that have ever managed to pull off a Sonic Rainboom after all. She's also very fast and all, but the Rainboom trick would already be enough for her to be instantly accepted in such an important group like the Wonderbolts. Maybe She's still too young perhaps? 2) Why do the ponies wear shoes on their front hooves? Not only that, you can also notice that sometimes they don't wear any shoes on their back hooves, as they prefer to wear them on their front hooves only. It was already shown though that they mostly use their front hooves as hands - obviously -, to grab and hold things and to open doors. Then why...? I hope this doesn't cause much fuss, but... 3) Is Twilight Sparkle supposed to resemble an atheist person? Not only but specially during the 'Feeling Pinkie Keen' and the 'Bridle Gossip' episodes, Twilight states that she only believes in things that science can explain and doesn't believe in supernatural events of any kind. Was this intentionally so to teach the younger viewers to respect other beliefs and religions? Thank you for your attention :> Trinket | Helios | Lory
Dusty Soul 2,612 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 1.) Well that would defeat the whole fan-girl part of Dash. I think if she got accepted into the Wonderbolts she would be too busy to hang around with her friends. 2.) Since more pressure is on the front hooves then the back hooves I guess... 3.) I thought this too. I don't think she was mean't to be thought of that way, but I just couldn't help it. That is a good theory you have though. If that ends up being true I will be so so happy. XUNUSEDXXX 3,459 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 (edited) 1) RD is a bit young, and in the WB's eyes, she probably isnt ready yet. and like others said, it would distract her from her friends and there wouldnt be as much RD in the show. 2) well, when you are bear crawling, doesnt it hurt your hands to crawl? it might be the same reason, but im not entirely sure about this question 3) course they have to have the scientific person in each show who doesnt believe things without proof. probably wasnt meant to teach anyone anything. NavelColt 22,882 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 My guess about Dash is that she's immature in the eyes of the Wonderbolts. She thinks about being number one over teamwork a lot of the time, she has proven several times that she'll cheat to get her way, and she generally flies solo. All the skill in the world is still ineffective to a team, if the one with skill isn't adept at working as a part of working group.

Thank you for your attention :> Twilight representing an atheist by denying the obvious even as she receives first hand evidence of it? Sounds legit. 1 LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice. Fees and penalties still apply.
Bohtty 1,775 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 (edited) 3) Is Twilight Sparkle supposed to resemble an atheist person? No because if Hasbro attempted to associate any pony with a specific religion then it would be like committing suicide for them. 1) Why wasn't Rainbow Dash accepted in the Wonderbolts yet? Because it would remove that entire element from the show and because rainbow dash wouldn't hang with her friends as much and it would probably lower their ratings. Same reason the CMC will never find their cutie marks. 2) Why do the ponies wear shoes on their front hooves? Same reason they don't wear pants. Rarietty 632 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 (edited) #1. I like to think that you have to audition for the Wonderbolts, but Rainbow has no idea that the auditions exist or just never shows up on time at them. Either that, or you have to graduate Flight School first, which she didn't do. #2. Because the back hooves are often obscured by a dress or rode during formal occasions. No point wearing actual shoes if you're a horse unless other ponies can see them clearly. I believe stallions usually wear shoes on all fours, if they're wearing shoes at all. #3. Because to her, magic is a science. If you were to ask her to explain how magic works, she'd rant about it using science terms for an hour. If something can not be explained, to her it probably shouldn't exist, even in a world like Equestria where everything is magical. So you could say she's the equivalent of a pony atheist, but I really don't like mixing religion into ponies, thank you very much. silvadel 1,393 August 17, 2012 Share August 17, 2012 1. I think it is simply because Rainbow Dash has never actually asked. If RD asked to be in the Wonderbolts, I think they would have no problems accepting her. I do not think it would be a good idea for her to be in the Wonderbolts but I can't see them refusing the offer. 2. I think it is just a style thing. I mean how many accents do people wear on their front compared to how many they wear on their back? Since clothing is more a fashion thing than anything else, front just makes more sense. 3. Hmmm.. I actually never thought of twilight like that. Religion is actually something never touched on AT ALL in the series -- they could believe in the 4 turtles afterlife for all we know. Twilight is a scientist not an athiest. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
