Lucien Shadowcaster 11 August 20, 2012 Share August 20, 2012 I don't know if this thread has been posted before or not, but I'd like to look at this topic from a different angle, and show you people why I have doubts if I honestly want to be a pony in Equestria, or not. Think of it, have you ever watched the show? As a brony or pegasister I'm sure you have watched at least one episode, or all seasons twice or three times over. Life in Equestria isn't just sunshine and rainbows. Everyone has to work for a living, it's not every day a certain Draconequus comes buy and magics cotton candy clouds and sweets. And noone can live solely on sugar, only Pinkie Pie can do that. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Ponies there have daylie hardships aswell, dealing with their very own problems. I mean by Celestia, consider yourself lucky not living near a forest where deadly Ursas, Timberwolves or Manticores live. If you do, well I'm sorry for you. But it's not eden, it really isn't. The only thing significant different, that would probably make it worth living there might be just all the insane things happening there. Magic, Pinkie Pie, advanture, Pinkie Pie, the closer bond of friendship and love. But even in Equestria there are bullies and scoundrels (Flim and Flam), insane power hungry leaders (Chrysalis) and her mindless drones (litterally). Or do you simply wanna live there because of the characters you know? Do you have a crush on a certain purple unicorn librarian or a blonde cross eyed pegasus? Well maybe they will reject your love because they might just not be into you. Or what is the reason why you want to live there? What would make it truly worth YOUR while? Post me your utopic view of Equestria, tell me what's so great about that place.

Zerul 555 August 20, 2012 Share August 20, 2012 (edited) I have tons of reasons why I would.1-If I'm a Pegasus I get to fly with Rainbowdash 2-Despite the hardships life over there seems simple..I like that.3-They all seem fun loving but also know when to chill out every now and then.4-Fresh start at a new life.I wouldn't give up my current life to live in Equestria though it would be kinda selfish to leave behind those who care about me here. Night Shine 772 August 20, 2012 Share August 20, 2012 (edited) I would want to live there because, through all their hardships, the ponies have a communal friendship (the likes of which I've only ever seen on this forum). Also there are no drugs, porn, alcohol, or semicorrupt politicians-it's just so pure. Edited August 20, 2012 by Night Shine

Also there are no drugs, porn, alcohol, or semicorrupt politicians-it's just so pure. Uhm, I wouldn't be too sure about no alcohol and drugs. Given the possiblities, that they have mostly the same food (grain, apples, fruits and stuff) you could easily start distillating and make a fortune of it. And Pinkie mentioned once as a joke ''Looks like the punch was spiked'' I guess that's enough reason to let us believe they are aware of alcohol, at least that. All hail Tyrant Celestia. I'm sure she might be benevolent, but her and her sisters rule is pretty much ... lead with an adamant hoof. That's why there's noone else to chime in. Silencing any voices of disagreement. I would just visit, and I want to stay human. the problem would be when they start talking about human culture. Twilight: So Oglooger, do you humans worship some divine entity. Oglooger:well, yeah. silvadel 1,393 August 20, 2012 Share August 20, 2012 Nope -- all castles have a dungeon -- Canterlot included. I have actually thought quite a bit about how things would go if I were to wake up a pony in ponyville. I even have a fanfic about it in that section here. I finally have the full framework done for parts #3/4 (It even worked excellently as a transition into 5 which is more done than 3/4). And yes doing this has kind of shifted my opinion on whether I would make the jump given the chance. That I survive at least 7 framework parts has moved me to affirmative rather than probably not. Luna makes for a good friend(5+) -- Being considered a problem by Celestia, not so much. I also found it quite odd while I was writing these just which ponies I had better relationships with than others -- it did NOT go exactly how I thought -- nothing ever does. What we see in FiM is just a small proportion of life in Equestria, and since FiM is a show for little girls, they will never release some kind of book that contains the "expanded universe" of MLP where we can see every little thing in great detail.all we now about the FiM universe is from fan speculation and vague descriptions from the website "EVREYONE, FRIENDSHIP IS STOOPID MAGIC" -Heavy Weapons Guy xPZxGM4pmqw

PegasisterTaco 318 August 20, 2012 Share August 20, 2012 Well, I would like to visit Equestria. Might stay there for a few days to see how everything goes. Don't know if I should leave Earth though. Yes, there's violence and crimes and wars. There's probally some in Equestria but I haven't really seen any violence. This all depends if I feel okay in Equestria or not. 1 Life is an adventure. An adventure of mistakes, accidents, and misunderstandings. That's what makes life life.

Music Chart Fan 819 August 20, 2012 Share August 20, 2012 Personally, I don't think any of us has enough information to really determine whether we want to wake up as a pony in Equestria. The show only follows the more interesting parts of the lives of a relative handful of ponies. We don't see the really bad or boring things happening, because that doesn't make good fantasy television. There is no guarantee that your potential life in Equestria would be anything like the characters experience in the show, and even then, you have an incomplete picture, since the show does not even show the full lives of its few characters. I think a lot of people assume the best about Equestria, and project their fantasies onto it, when in reality, we just don't know. I think the best stance is to remain agnostic. I might say to visit it and see how it REALLY is before committing to wanting to stay there forever. However, I will admit that I am very habitual and resistant to change, so that may be influencing my thinking. I for one could never imagine being a pony after being a human for 23 years. How would your brain so used to performing human actions acclimate to a pony body? There are so many things that we think and do that take for granted that we are human beings on the planet Earth. XrosOver 613 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 It would kick some serious flank to live in equestria! the only problem i can think of is that if you are there...doesnt that mean that you would be in the show as well? what would happen when all of the bronies see you? either they will try and go to equestria to or get mad and quit on the show or even the third option of the producers giving up on the show because somehow a human managed to slip between realties and infect MLP. Still it would kick some serious flank to live there. The mind of the host will desperately try to create memories where none exist. Simple right? Leon 27 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 It would be nice but I wouldn't want to live there, I would miss family and friends to much. Cherry Blossom 864 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Well if I die after completing my goal of saving someone's life and going to heaven, I would love to be reborn as a pony in Equestria. A country that was formed by working together with other species of ponies, unlike humans who are corrupt and wage war on eachother. If there was a war, the death of Royal Guards would have meaning that would be remembered for theme protecting ponies. It would be really lovely to live a life that's so peaceful. Homura Akemi 974 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 It's about time someone said this. Equestria is not a perfect world. Think about living through times where Nightmare Moon darkened the world or Discord made chaos. Sure, they end eventually, but despite the lack of deaths in Equestria, they would be traumatizing epidemics. And personally, if I lived to see Nightmare Moon darken the world, I wouldn't forgive her like some ponies did.

Pinkazoid 3,493 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Of course no place is an Utopia or else it'd be weird G3.5 universe, I don't say that everyone and anyone rather live as a technicolor pony on a land of magical flying ones, Equestria has it's own ups and downs, but when you think 'bout it, it's not any worse than our world, better? maybe, but definitively not worse, maybe it's just as bad, but not worse :3 I wanna live there because it's more accepting than this world......Not to mention everyone there is freaking adorable!!!! SugarSprinkledFox 69 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Sometimes when I watch the show, I get sad. Why? It's because I know the fact that I will never be in a world where everything is perfect. The song "Smile, Smile, Smile" made me cry tears because I would love to have as much friends as Pinkie. But I'm pretty much a loner, and my social anxiety doesn't help either. :/
