Need help from artists!

Ok, so here's the thing. I want to start drawing ponies, but I've never really done any art whatsoever...

 

So could some one give me a good place to start?

Well, I find a good place to start is just by analyzing the characters form the show. Get some screenshots, some reference pics of them... Just to kind of get a feel for the actual proportions and body type of a pony.

 

Also, go to dragoart.com they have a lot of really good tutorials on how to draw some ponies. The Mane 6 plus the princesses and the CMC too. DeviantArt is also a great place to look for ponies. There are a lot of artists who have done their own guides to drawing ponies or drew references for the bodies and heads and such. The internet is an artist's closest friend nowadays.

Well depending on what pony are you going to draw(Either your OC or any other pony), You should use references.

Altho I draw without them, I have some knowledge about the pony anatomy. You just need to watch eighteen hours of MLP and then you can know how to draw ponies wihtout even noticing, like I did... -sigh-

 

If you are going to draw your OC, I advise you to use some references for the pose the pony is taking.

Also, are you going to draw paper sheet and pencil, or any program?

I saw that guide too, and it didn't helped me at all. Guidelines just screw up the drawing... All I've drawed was without all those damn tutorials... I learned by myself and by watching MLP full season one and two... -yawn-
