Maven looked at Cherry Blossom, "Now we go se Captain Nightfall." She walked up to the captain, "Nice show. Maybe next time you won't burn out. This is Cherry Blossom. She wishes to discuss something with you." Then she came up to Sapphire and sighed. She played a healing piece and her back stitched up. Sapphire went and grabbed her dagger.

He sounded a little bit annoyed, and hoped she wasn't just teasing him. He turned to Cherry Blossom.

"Ghello, ma'am. You would like to discuss something, eh? What would you like?"

Nightfall tried his best to sound 'normal,' which often times he found it hard to do.

"Well I would like to join the police force if you wouldn't mind," Cherry Blossom said to Nightfall as she looked down at the floor. "I may not look like I am fit for duty but..." She added as she looked back up at him. "I want to protect Manehattan!" She yelled, but it wasn't really loud, but was like a certain "yay" somepony had said a while ago.

"I guess I can at least try my best." Cherry Blossom replied as she was ready to get enlisted. "So do I have to fill out a paper or something? I mean that is, if you don't mind." She said to Nightfall as she kicked the floor again, but remembering never to do that again when she shrieked.

He smiled and hoped she wouldn't be able to tell he had just made that up.

Sapphire, who was now healed, shivered and became Den. Den walked up to Nightfall and saluted, "Sir, we have to enter the Asylum now. That imp will probably be inside trying to make the demon port-" He coughs as he notices the mare, "Uhh, sir, is this... One of ours?" He looked her up and down: she wasn't extremely strong, but he did need a partner. What he and Sapphire had... Was more of a sibling hood.

"Well uh... Could you repeat that? I mean I didn't quite get that, or it's just that... I'm confused," Cherry Blossom gave Nightfall a confused look. She hadn't understood what Nightfall was stating.

 

She noticed as another stallion came by and started talking to Nightfall. Cherry Blossom heard the word demon 3 times today, her stomach felt like a smoothie blender...

"Captain Nightfall? I understand you are the chief of police in this city? I am Detective Specialist Wits End, and I am here to help you take control of this city once more, by removing vigilantes and villains in equal force." He rummaged through his coat and brought out a badge.

 

"Here are my credentials. I am under direct command from Princess Celestia, and I am to assimilate into your force and obey your orders where possible." He looked him in the eye. "What is the current situation, and how may I assist? I am highly skilled in magics and metamagics."

All right, I don't need credentials. The current situation is that way need to shut down a portal between this world and the demon realm. Having skills in magics will help. Now, come on, lets get inside."

"Naturally," Wits turned to the portal and began probing it, looking for its qualities and traits. "It's an interdimensional rend, rooted in the 5th through 8th dimensions. I can probably shut it down, but the demonic energies are going to cause some problems. Do you have an external magical power source that I can use?"

"Wait a minute, I'm going in without any training at all?!" Cherry Blossom's face was filled with shock, and her heart was beating much faster than usual. She was already terrified of the possibilities of what might happen to her inside. She was even more afraid of what may jump out in front of her. Cherry Blossom gulped and tried to calm down.

"Don't worry. Cherry, right? We're partners now, which means I got your back. I'm Den. Sometimes," he sighed, thinking, Must be some way to separate us, Sapphire. You're your own person, and you should have your own body. Maybe... Maybe some day.

Nightfall trotted inside. His mind was working almost overtime, or at least it felt like it.

"Cherry was her name... Huh... That's a good name... No, Nightfall, no, just keep working... You have to worry about Sapphire and Maven. Den has Cherry."

"Is it okay if I just stay behind a secure object? I mean if that's okay with you." Cherry Blossom started whimpering when got closer to the asylum door. She hovered towards the entrance in a slow pace, but she was only stalling so she wouldn't go inside. Hopefully everypony else will go inside, fix whatever needs to be done, without Cherry Blossom having to do anything dangerous.

Cherry Blossom turned to Den. "Well I..." Cherry Blossoms ears drooped as she remembered, she wasn't really good at anything. "I-I can't do anything really. I haven't even earned my cutiemark either so..." She replied as she tried to think of an excuse; too bad she wasn't good at that either.

 

She turned to Nightfall when he spoke. "I don't really know how to fight. So I'm not sure what to do if anything comes out of nowhere."

You should enjoy whatever time we've got left, because that investigator over there thinks that anypony with a super power should keep it to themselves. His mission was something along the lines of, 'Cleansing this town of vigilantes,' or something."

Nightfall was also taken aback by her comment about super powers, mainly because he didn't think his demon was a super power.

"And having a demon inside you doesn't make you have a super power."

He stopped in front of her, facing her, and put his hoof on her chest.

"What do you mean 'since when?' You're like a brother to me. I like to tease you, is all... Besides, I'm a little different when it comes to that subject..." She flushed harder when he put his hoof on her chest, "Stop that, it makes me get butterflies. You'll make Sapphire jealous."

Cherry Blossom was thinking about the fashion model idea, but she didn't like the thought of being in front of a huge crowd. She followed behind Nightfall and tried to avoid exposure to whatever was inside the asylum. "So this portal thing, is harmless right?" She asked as she hovered right behind the group.

Den sighed, thinking, Oh her fear is going to be hard to work through. "No worries, Nightfall can pretty much handle whatever problem we come across. Especially with us here to back him up. I need you to steal your nerves, because this place is not especially safe."

She started feeling tense so she fanned herself with her left wing. "Well I just uh-" Cherry Blossom cut herself off by purposely tripping and falling on her left wing. "Ouch... I think I just broke my left wing, oh well."
