Hello!


have you ever heard of the multiverse theory? the one where there are an infinite number of universes and each with different realities, that would mean there are universes where equestria exist and universes where pokemon are real!!!

omigosh omigosh
what if you could travel to these places?
wouldn't it be awesome!?

too bad we can't travel to such a wonderful place, but why not imagine too?
and thus it was decided that pokemons would exist alongside earth ponies, pegasi, unicorns, and alicorns in beautiful role-play!
but franksta, what about discord, diamond dogs, chainlings, and animals?
discord, diamond dogs, and chainlings still exist, but animals are replaced with their pokemon counter parts and no matter which species they are, they can't talk :P

I am not a clever man therfore I shall be using a fanmade pokemon game as plot matierial, if you have any problems with this please let me know, also I do not take any credit for the plot.Once you have read the plot and you decide you want to join, please read the charactor form and follow the instructions. Once you have sumbited your application and have been accepted take the time to read the rules, battle mechanics, charactors - npc, and rewards for more info on how this roleplay will work.

Plot:
you and a group of *insert number here* other ponies have been planing an epic vacation for months now, you all met online and although you still don't know each other very well you decided to meet up together and join the world championships despite the fact that none of you have any experiences taking care of pokemon let alone train them, so you've made decisions to meet up and take part in both the Zhery League and Lauren League before hitting the world championships.
It's going to be tough but you have all accepted that. So you each gained your very first pokemon and all headed for your meeting spot in Central City, what better way to start a journey than to start it with a group of people who are willing to get to know each other and become great friends?.

History of the world:
Ponies have been living alongside pokemon in harmony for as long they can remember and history records. But there always been the occasional regional pandemic involving legendary pokemon you'd only hear about in stories, or some infamous organization causing chaos for their own version of "the greater good", but everyone moves on eventually. There are places where pokemon are a bit rare to be seen such as Equestria, which doesn't seem to have very many pokemon related orginizations at all, no gyms, contest halls, or anything like that, only pokecenters, marts, laboratories, and farms have dedicated themselves to all things pokemon.

I think the best way to have a pokemon battle is to imagine one, the only limit being your imagination. So a perfect way to battle in and rp thread would obviously be to imagine one as if the were watching it in the anime. But without godmodding having a fair battle between your fellow rp'ers would be long and messy.

So I've come up with a plan to use a program called Pokemon Online to have unmessy fun and I'll even keep track of your pokemon.

The bugs are still being worked out though :/

Interested in a prize are we?

I noticed that there were pokemon rps in the past and that they died so I wondered what I could to to keep my rp from dying before completion so all this hard work wouldn't go to waste, so I came up with a few ideas to do such a thing:
-Presentation
-Organization
-Looking Professional without actually being it

but for added insurance I came up with the best idea ever...
PRIZES/REWARDS oh yea you read that right
current reward List:

-For being accepted to join you get a free drawdering of your oc and starter pokemon together
-For being first to win against a gym leader you get a drawdering of your oc defeating said gym leader
-For winning the world championship you get the grand prize (grand prize is secret)

this list is to be updated and added to in the near future.

Make sure your oc's back story is to fit in with the plot, I have striped the plot to its bare minimum so you wouldn't be too restricted.

Post your oc here along with your desired starter. Your starter can be any starter from the pokemon games. No two ponies can have the same starter, First come first serve.

If you want a starter pokemon that's not an official starter pokemon(mystery dungeon doesn't count :P) then just ask me.

Very interesting idea. Like you said most other Pokemon RPs died out, including mine. In fact I had about the same idea, Pokemon but with ponies instead of humans. So I'll definitely join this one. Now what will the starter Pokemon be? I'm assuming we will have more than three members so will there be more starters in addition to the normal three or can you choose from any one of the starters from each region? Like one person could pick Charmander while another picks Snivy. The main reason I ask is because I REALLY like Cyndaquil and just wanted to see if I could pick him as a stater.

Ok, I've updated the post to contain more information about the rp and I added the form so you can apply for a spot. I'll be adding more information about Zhery and Lauren soon along with fixing the bugs that I've mentioned.

 

But if you already like what you see then feel free to apply now, but if you don't like what you see then please don't judge until I'm finished planning this through.

It doesn't have to be exact. You can use a canon region but have an original story. Maybe we could just think of a new villain team or something.

Hmm... I have a pegasus OC who's still not 100% completed, but now that I have seen this RP... I feel as if he is just BEGGING to be used! So yeah, I may get to working on him in a while, and if at all possible, could I have Pikachu? I mean, considering he's a starter Pokemon in Pokemon Yellow and all...

question what happens when you want to battle a gym? Do you still use the pokemon online or some other way? Other then that i think you have a strong idea!

 

undecided, I'm working the battle system out a lot :/

but that's why I'm using the "planning" tag, derp

input would be nice, do you like the idea of using pokemon online? or would you rather come up with battles?

No i like the idea of pokemon online! ^_^ i was thinking if we all have time maybe? We could use http://www.playr.org/games It's a simulater on the pc we could maybe go make a character there and see if we make a it in the gym there? other then that... i got nothing ^_^;

 

edit never mind i don't think my idea will work as we have pokemon from different gens!

that'd would be pretty sad...

it's more like it's been put on pause while I get more borrrinnng non-pony related stuff sorted out, namely balancing school, work, sleep, actual free time, and blahblah you get the point.

 

I'll reboot it later

the (kinda) only reason I started the topic has to get an opinion on the oc pokemon
