Finesthour 7,287 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 (edited) Alright, I am just going to come out and say this. For the ignore feature we have now, there are a lot of loopholes to it. Such as the person you ignored is still able to comment on a status of yours, or a blog post as well. I wanted to bring up for others to comment on, would there be a way for the ignore feature to be fleshed out so you could ignore a person completely? Such as: Blocking the ability to see the persons status update, or them seeing your own. Blocking their ability post on said status. Blocking the ability to see or comment on their blog post, same as your own. Just a few ideas, want to see what the community thinks. Twiliscael 3,960 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 I agree. I mean, I really don't have anybody that I have ignored but I do think that the system should be changed in order to work with the blogs and statuses and stuff. Only extra protection against those people, right? But why ignore someone who likes ponies? All bronies are great, loving people, especially the new ones. /joking I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . .
Strife 455 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 It would certainly make sense for the Ignore function to ... well, ignore the person. IP.Board has a load of loopholes, most of which due to the coding. Would definitely be a nice thing if the Ignore feature essentially blocked ALL forms of contact with that user ... as is what the feature is supposed to do. That said, I haven't needed a use for the Ignore feature on any forums yet. I rarely even use it in games.
NavelColt 22,881 August 28, 2012 Share August 28, 2012 I don't use the ignore feature, as I haven't met someone on here yet whom I can not only not stand but am also incapable of stop getting into spouts with. But in a general sense, when you block/ignore someone, they ideally shouldn't be able to interact with you at all. So, I support the idea.
Hushabye 47 August 29, 2012 Share August 29, 2012 I would certainly like a wider range of ignore features. I could see the current system causing a problem, if my previous forum experiences are anything to go by. 1 Always off-topic and always derailing. Ron Jeremy 2,032 August 29, 2012 Share August 29, 2012 Ideally, I would say that people shouldn't use the ignore system and should instead contact the user they're having a problem with and discuss the problems they have, but I guess for some people, that's out of the question. I haven't needed to use the ignore feature because the only people who have gotten on my nerves enough to use it on them got banned for trolling. But, yeah, if people are going to be running around using "ignore" on each other, it should at least cover everything.
Killian Jones 2,655 August 29, 2012 Share August 29, 2012 The problem currently is that the status updates is not properly integrated with moderation and ignore features. It's literally a tacked on thing, we have already submitted feedback on it to IP Board and they will look into improving it. As for blogs, those features may have use with some improving, perhaps we can get in touch with IP Board.
Dusty Soul 2,611 August 29, 2012 Share August 29, 2012 Even though I don't use the ignore feature I can say I agree with what your saying... (even though the blogs are quite new and rather buggy any ways) Soundcloud-------------------Facebook---------------------------Youtube
