Was rewatching "Over a Barrel" and noted something about Appleloosa

Appleloosa was 100% earth ponies -- not a single unicorn or pegasus to be found. This probably contributed to their attitude as it seems pegasi tend to think a little differently, as do unicorns. By example rainbow dash was more -- well you made a mistake, just move the trees, while Applejack took the city line in a big way.

 

How were they supposed to deal with their weather without a single pegasus anyway?

I think this fact is because Appleloosa is basically an old western town... When I think about the old west+ MLP I think of Earth Ponies... I also do agree with what you say about differing personalities... I think pegasus' tend to be more free spirited and stuff then Earth Ponies, who are more bold and comparably hard headed...

I once read a fan fic, Stormy Nights, and in it was a town that had no pegasus, only earth ponies and unicorns. Every year they hire a group of Pegasi from another city to bring a large storm over their own town which will fill the resavoirs and give them enough water to last them the year.

I noticed that too. I don't know why. I think it's because since they are a faraway town from all the other pony towns, that when Earth ponies still settled there, no pony knew about it. Since there was only Earth Ponies, and nopony knew about it, then there were no pegasi or unicorns to have families with.

 

That's just my thought. But then again, Cloudsdale has only pegasi, and Canterlot has only unicorn and a few Earth ponies. So I really don't know.

They could have natural weather instead of pegasi. Maybe that's why it's a desert instead of lush countryside like Ponyville is.

Cloudsdale has only pegasi because it is in the air. While Canterlot is primarily unicorns, you do see other ponies there -- I mean the royal guard does include pegasi among their number and you do see some earth ponies amongst the unicorns. There are representative ponies of all three kinds in the government etc. I mean Canterlot is the capital.

 

As for Appleloosa being way out of the way -- it is just a stop on the railroad tracks. And it is not very far at all from ponyville etc. It is pretty much between Ponyville and Dodge City.

It could still be a new town right now and they have not yet arrange anything yet with Cloudsdale for rain. So maybe in time they would get pegasi out there to bring them rain clouds. They would not last long with out rain.

Hm, an interesting question. Maybe the pegasi from other places come ocationally and give them things like rain. However maybe they simply get a yearly rain or something. They have things like irrigation for places they farm that don't have enough water(I believe thats the correct term) So maybe something simular happens to people in applelousa.

It doesn't seem likely they get ZERO rain because they do grow food, but it doesn't seem as tho they get a whole lot.

 

And the fact that there all earth ponys just seems to make sense in a town such as theres. Since its all western like.
