Gone Airbourne 21,977 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Since I became a brony back in late July (the same time I joined the forums). I have not told (anyone) that I had become a brony. Mainly because I did not think anyone would understand even if I tried to explain to them. The past few days had me thinking... It kinda sucks to like something yet at the same time there is no one to share it with. Kind of like playing a online game, the game can be great but if there is no one online but yourself. What would be the fun in that? I was hanging out with one of my best friends today and I decided to let him know that I was a brony . His initial reaction at first was that if shock/disgust of course... But I told him to hear me out for a little bit. So I got into a discussion which drug out to be about 40 mins long! I told him how I had found out about bronies & how I became one. He still thought I was completely insane but I got him to sit through episode 1 :3. In the end no one can escape the herd after all that I managed to convert him to become a brony . I'm so glad I broke out of my comfort zone! So that is about it, had a pretty awesome day as well!
Dusty Soul 2,611 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Nice, and you did it without shoving it in his face. I wish one of my friends would actually try to watch the show... They instantly label it as dumb... 2 Soundcloud-------------------Facebook---------------------------Youtube
Gone Airbourne 21,977 September 7, 2012 Author Share September 7, 2012 @Dusty Soul yeah I was overjoyed to know that he liked the show and everything. Also yeah no one should ever try and force someone into liking something that they clearly do not like. I laughed at after the fact he told me he was a brony xD
Lost 1,410 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 I converted my best friend into a brony, he recently signed up to these forums too (thatbluechicken), the week I became a brony I casually mentioned it to him and he didnt seem too bothered so I showed him a few brony caption pictures that he found funny yet he didn't want to watch the show, one day we were playing dungeon defenders together and on teamspeak(voice comms) and I started singing proud to be a brony, out of curiosity he asked for the link, he listened to it on repeate for a good hour while we played, after we finished playing I linked him the first few episodes, which he watched and loved. Motion Spark 7,807 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 @, that's super cool bro, but in my opinion, I think that just liking the show is not enough to be a brony, I liked cow and chicken, and I never fallen in love with it to the point to share my love for the show with a whole community. I think he needs to be part of the community and participate, and be a fan of the show and being hit by the friendship canon (lol ) to be a real brony in my opinion, I can't live without this forums, this fandom is my home, and I think you feel the same and many bronies in the world feel the same about the community. I doubt your friend feels that way yet. I think you rushed yourself to call him "brony", give him a little bit of time. But getting him to watch the show, is a good start, very well done buddy 3 My OC's: Motion Spark || Beat Spark || Rosebelle Sorry, I don't take REQUESTS! Yeah it was the same for me no one really introduced me to the show rather I found out about it being described as something completely disturbing... Pretty much after watching the first two episodes for me set in stone that I had become one . So here I am now. Who knows I may just be able to convince him to join the forums but for the time being if he truly did enjoy the show he'd join without anyone's help! Lightning Fluttershy 1,844 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 (edited) I've told my two closest friends that I'm a brony. While they didn't label it as dumb or make fun of me, they didn't show interest in the show either which I'm fine with. They just respected that I like it but told me that it wasn't really their thing. I accepted this. It was probably one the most reasonable things I've ever heard from them. Twiliscael 3,960 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Lol, look at y'all thinking yer hawt shit. This guy over here, he's converted about 15 people from his grade and made the rest of the school tolerant. How? Charisma, determination, and being fairly popular. Y'all should try it sometime. On topic, good job Airboune. It's not as bad as everyone thinks, people are more tolerant than you'd expect of this kinda thing. 1 I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . . Crutch 898 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 That's awesome! I guess that I'm pretty lucky to have a few brony friends at school. I tried to show my best friend an episode (and while he did seem like he enjoyed it), he just passed it off as weird, though he did like Fluttershy's squeals. Who knows though...maybe I have made him interested and curious. The world may never know. But again that's awesome that you were able to do that! 1 http://www.youtube.com/user/coastercrutchfield

Thank you for the compliment At first I didn't share it with anyone 'cause I didn't think anyone would know or understand but I asked my best friend "Do you know what a brony is?" in a really condescending voice and he said "Hell yeah, I've been a brony since December!" (this was in March) and I said "Holy shit, really? Me too, I'm surprised you haven't aught my references!" and then we got into a whole hour long talk and the two of us (him being one of the most popular kids (even though popularity means nothing)) tag-teamed and spread MASSIVE pony all over the school. It was an experience, and now ain't ever going back into ma shell. I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . .

SpyHunterBG 26 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Airborne, thats awesome! Very few of my friends who have tried the show have cared for it, really. But hey, they watch it, it's not their thing, so be it. I don't push. That being said, I actively seek out my "kind" But yeah, if you haven't already, tell him to really get in on the community. Heck, direct him here! I'm sure he'd love it.

Chapien 26 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Heh. I can't say I really understand what it's like being prosecuted for being a brony in the first place - it was my best friend who converted me to the heard, after all - but I totally understand the joy of sharing the fandom with others. All of my friends are bronies, but last year, one of them was not a brony. On the night before Season 2 premiered, we invaded his house and watched the entire season 1 with him in one night, before proceeding to watch the season 2 premiere the next morning. It was glorious.
Agent Leon 6 September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 I have Converted a 3 people into the Brony Society. Tony, Dean and Austin. And since i became a brony, i've been making more friends. Before i was a Brony i had maybe 10 friends in a school with 2000 people, but since i became a brony i have about 50+ friends (a good majority are bronies, while the others are just friends with the bronies which made me become friends with them.) I think becoming a Brony helped me out in my social life. (that's just me) but for anybody who is a Closet brony (someone who is afraid to admit that they are a Brony) Don't be afraid to share your Interests with people, you can make some of the coolest friend if you share your interests with other people, this is not for MLP this is for anything out there that you enjoy

Prof. Yana 16 September 11, 2012 Share September 11, 2012 I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones, in that most of my friends are bronies. Ever since I started watching it, they have been watching as well.
