gaming Thoughts On Zelda 3DS/WiiU?

So, some of you may or may not know, but quite some time ago it was announced by Shigeru Miyamoto that both a new 3DS Zelda AND a WiiU Zelda are currently in the works (note how I said "new"; these are going to be brand new games, not remakes). Some of you might have seen the Zelda tech demo shown off for the WiiU last year at E3 - it was also stated that this was merely a tech demo and that the game may or may not end up looking like that. Even later, in an interview with Eiji Aonuma, he stated that the 3DS Zelda is going to be made in a way that having the 3D isn't simply a gimmick, but rather actually effects gameplay.

So, what do you guys think? Any hopes for what Nintendo might do with either game? Will one of them finally surpass Ocarina of Time on Metacritic (pssh, naw)?

Well, I've most mostly heard rumors on remakes for Majora's Mask and A Link to the Past, both for the 3DS. Honestly, I'd love to see a Majora's Mask 3D remake more than anything right now, but a new game would be awesome too. I'd also love another Wind Waker styled game for the Wii U or something.

When it comes to beating Ocarina of Time... I don't think any of the Zelda games can beat OoT in popularity. Personally, I don't think it's all that great. It's one of the most linear 3D Zelda games to be released. I know OoT kicked off the start of 3D Zelda games, but for me, it wasn't all that enjoyable after the first time beating it. Majora's Mask has more replay value, in my opinion, even after beating it.

I believe Miyamoto stated that he'd like to see an A Link to the Past based game on the 3DS - maybe that's what it'll end up being? And I agree that a Majora's Mask remake would be nice, and it's only natural that they end up doing it at some point. Project Moonfall I think has done a great job at convincing them, because there have been hints that one is going to be coming eventually. Although, I think a WiiU remake would do it good. Even though it'd be "unfair" towards Ocarina, and that it'd be awesome to have a portable Majora's Mask, I think it'd be nicer (Also, if they do go through with it, they really should add a lot more content so that people who have the original will want to spend their money to buy it again).

And you're probably right on them not being able to beat Ocarina. I really liked it, it's my favorite in the series (besides the first game), however you are right in stating that Majora has more replay value. And I'm still hating on Nintendo for not releasing the URA expansion...

As far as favorites go, mine is A Link to the Past.

But new Zelda game speculation is always fun. I would like it if In the Next Zelda game they set it in termina once again. Mainly cause I feel termina hit just the right amount of main feild, explorable areas, secrets to uncover, and the characters, oh Celestia the characters! I do believe Majora's mask had the most interesting characters of any Zelda title, I also personally believe that the side-quests were often a ton more fun and involving then the actual main quest.

So how great would it be to revisit termina, and see the changes X amount of years would have had on it? Heck, maybe some form of Gannon's evil magic seeped in after his defeat in Twilight princess or something to cause the trek for the returning Link or another new one altogether. Also I think they should bring back the acrobatic jumps from Majora's mask, those were just plain cool.

Actually, coincidence as it may be, for quite some time I've been thinking about how a return to Termina would work. Because if you think about it, the whole reason Link left Hyrule after OoT was to look for Navi (god knows why), and by the end of MM, he still hasn't found her. This leaves some room for another Hero of Time game, don't you agree?

I suppose, since the theory that Link got lost in lost woods afterward has since been disproven, (curse you hyrule historia!) I'm not sure, it's been a while since I play MM but I think I remember a conversation with one of the NPC's that only Skull Kid had the power to shift between Termina and Hyrule, so I just assumed that through the power of Majora's mask, he was able to grab up Link and Epona as well and send them there.

I dunno if I want a Majora's Mask remake- I already 100 %'d it once, and that was enough for me- unless they add extra content that is, like adding the ability to use the Fierce Diety mask anywhere and/or in a special dungeon, or a dungeon based around the Giant's mask, or more dungeons in general.

I hope Zelda Wii U will have Motionplus support, I loved the controls in Skyward Sword, especially the bow, so I hope they move forward with that.

That bow was the bane of my existence. I didn't have a problem with it except for one part and it was the fight against Tentalus.

You gotta hold it vertically in front of your face, felt wonderful imo, and the fact that you could walk around with it out was icing on the cake. :D

I want a new Zelda game in the Majoras Mask/ Ocarina of Time universe for the 3ds :)

As far as the Wii U goes I think we should get a fresh zelda game but with the art style of Skyward Sword.

... WHEN ARE THEY COMING OUT!!! I WANT 'EM NNEEOOOOOOOOOW!!! *flips stuff*

Lol. jk. I am really excited to see the new games. It would be really nice to see a Majoras Mask remake. Considering i never palyed it... Yeah i am too young to of owned a N64 and by then when i gotted started into videogames they never sold 'em or the games. All Gamecube. Hell i never heard of an N64 'till later on.

Thing is idk if i would get the WII-U one. First cuz i don't have much of an idea what a WII-U is. Is it a console? I probably sounding like an idiot. I never went to E3 and people never really focused their attention on the WII-U. i don't tink anyone was excited for it. I am probably not gonna get it. If i do get it the only game i would play with it is the Zelda game. And i don't wnat to get a whole new thing just for one game ya know? Then again i still don't have much of an idea of what a WII-U is. I know its a motion thingie. Does it pluged into a wii though? Or is it like a seperate thing like a whole new console or something? idk i'm probably sounding ignorant...

I really really really want to see a Majora's Mask remake on the Wii U. Take a look at this trailer. It's fan made, but it has so much potential!

@@AnonBrony, The Wii U is a new console. With backwards compatibility for Wii games and controllers (that'll also be used for it's own games).

And you've probably already seen it's new controller, big touchscreen, dual analogues etc.

EDIT: Apparently the Wii U will only be compatible with Wiimotes that have Wii motion plus attached.
